Wow. Despite the audio issues, this was fantastic. Thanks for sharing this, Dan. I don't imagine many people get to witness this kind of operation. So cool!
Great video. That was one heck of a nice cleanup! Don't worry about the audio issues Dan, these things can happen from time to time. Also wanted to say thank you for all the videos you have been releasing lately, a lot more frequent, and I appreciate all the effort that goes into making these videos for us. Cheers. Heavy Pans.
It is amazing how far sluicing has come. It seems like every time you turn around there is a new one and that one with two different ones going at the same time seemed very effective. That was very impressive seeing the amount of gold harvested. I bet the old times would be going nuts seeing these processes. A great video even without the audio.
I agree, I was thinking the same thing about those sluices, I like the one man operation all together, but those boxes would make you feel secure in knowing your not losing anything!!!
Just finished part one great timing. Fair play Tyler well done man. I like the efficient way you process the ground and replant after. It's apparent you care about the environment and getting the gold
I'm 24 and love fishing. I'm working as an electrical engineer and don't get out as much as I'd like, but your videos have got me to start keeping a 10" gold pan and small snuffer bottle in my tackle bag and if I can't sink a hook, I can usually snipe a few good handfuls of bedrock soil from the river bed and catch a few beautiful flecks. Seeing that gold glint among the black sand on that final wash back in the pan is like nothing else. Love your videos Dan!! Stay healthy!
Great video as always Dan!!! It was awesome to have you out there. One part of the audio that was missed was Dan explaining the weeks total was actually 3 ounces more then what we weighed out. I usually high-grade the gold in the hydraulic riffles and just run the remaining concentrates through the cleanup system. Also Dan explains what my running costs are for myself and to make it short, I am around the 25% mark for fuel and maintenance.
Don't dare apologize about the sound, Dan! I certainly couldn't hear you anyways... I had to use both ears to hold my chin up from gawking at all that 7 oz (might as well call it t by at) ! Astounding cleanup!! I'm also tickled pink that you're buying the gold for your paydirt bags! Everyone is going mad when they get them! Thank you, and Tyler, for allowing us to tag along with a huge placer mine operation! Made my day......
Just getting to see that whole process was a treat, but seeing all that placer gold was so cool. And that sluice looks like it could be a video itself. Thanks for sharing with us Dan.
I think the video is great just with the music and watching things happen. I like the extreme closeups whee you can see the lighter material rolling over the gold. Very good learning visual in showing how the process is really working.
This was a fun one Dan. One of the more innovative cleanup systems I have seen - he is dialed in to the local conditions for sure! Also interesting to see that his coarse gold cleanup sluice uses ribbed carpet - a simple solution that appears to work quite well.
That was AMAZING!!! The video worked out great. I love the way you explain stuff but this was really a great balance and a nice change of pace. I hope to see more cleanups like this on YOUR claims!!!!
Dan I usually hit the like button even before your vids have truly begun. You know, by the time you say "Wish us luck, and I hope you enjoy! that "thumbs up" button has been clicked! THIS time when I hit the button, I had to make this comment: Your Videos are the FIRST ones I began watching when I got interested in panning and metal detecting and you NEVER disappoint! You even introduced me to Pauly, whom I am also enjoying a ton! (TRULY wish to meet you both one day!) Keep On Keeping On!
Enjoyed watching your video 📹 😊 Thankyou for sharing with us. Absolutely amazing that Tyler has protected such a great system 👏 for extraction of gold. Lovely pile of gold in the pan.😀
I've watched a couple of the gold mining shows on TV, and in spite of my interest in gold panning (I did a little casual panning long ago) I just couldn't get any enthusiasm for them. But these videos of Dan's are fantastic! I watch every one, and feel like a part of his community, like I'm included in the excitement. Well done Dan! And thank you!
Love watching & learning from you! You are so great at explaining every single detail and step! Thank you. This "patri" joined to learn..so happy I did.
Thanks Dan we really enjoyed watching this one , my wife and I are embarking on a Gold operation in May next year , we would love to see a bit more detail on Tyler’s clean up sluice , as we would like to build one . Thanks again Dan for all your excellent videos 😊👍🙌
Huge thanks to Tyler for letting us see his operation I really like the cleanup sluice set up very cool and thanks Dan for sharing these two episodes in spite of the audio difficulties it turned out ok now you know a 1/4 gram a ton is worth small scale mining hopefully you can do this at one of your claims as owner operator I can see that’s the best way to do it to keep the employee cost down and make it profitable but that is a TON of work definitely a young man’s game thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼
Tyler is awesome too. Just look at all those excavators, sluices, quads, pumps, hoses and other pieces of machinery he runs them all solo and with such efficiency. Wow😊
That was really cool to see both videos and to understand all that is involved. Thinking now to get prospectors licence just for camping fun. Thanks Dan
Thanks! For your hard work. I am seriously jealous of you. You have a job that you love. I would like to visit your operation somehow but I don’t know how to find you. Idaho?
@@BreatherBoy gold is 1754 per ounce. That showed almost 7oz. I'm not a mathematician but I think your math is a little off my guy. And the fella Dan was helping out sait there was an extra 3oz not shown 17k is not a bad haul.
Oh I was expecting a premier. Or had I missed that?! Ready to see this clean up! I’m going to cry along with all your viewers at all the gold that isn’t ours 😅🤘🤣
Another great vid Dan and btw the audio was no issue in fact I liked this better as you tended to concentrate more on the mechanics filming. Once again great vid and thank you.
Nice job with this one Dan! The footage is great. That clean up sluice is cool. I like how it’s feeds nice and slow. Splitting the material is also super cool.
At 3:19 I notice the expanded is put in for a more aggressive action (sort of 'against the grain' as it were), and have always been told (from what others heard most likely rather than through experimentation) that the expanded should lay the other way for a somewhat gentler slope to the action zone. I have done some small tests with the std Keene in both directions, and think it might be more based on the size of the chunks vs the size of the expanded rise. Thoughts?
Tyler has a fantastic set up and a great work ethic. This video was fun to watch hope to see more of Tyler in the future along with the collaboration’s of Andy Thrax and Jason mbmm also not forgetting the irreplaceable Pauly 😂
I just found you on Dan Hurd's channel. I was amazed by your mining process. Really incredible. Well done! And Happy Baby Girl! I got me one of those myself. Best thing to ever happen to me in my life. Makes it something special.
What a beautiful little cleanup, I would love to see a collab with one of these miners and Sreetips who does precious metal refining on UA-cam. Would be interesting to see what that 7 troy oz turned out to be when refined down to 4 or 5 nines pure gold.
Awesomeness!! I felt that the video was sexy!! Lol, to me it was like a 1980's sexy music video by Dan Hurd!! Lol very very cool, love your channel and that you share your videos with us!! Much respects and love and thanks again Dan Hurd!!
You definitely earned my subscription, and I can't wait for more. These kinds of videos motivate me to get out there more, gold or no gold....Okay, with gold would be way better, but still haha!
I dont think he mentioned it in either video, but some of the gold could have mercury, lead or platinum coated on them making them duller and more silvery.
Doubt they would let you film, they're a secretive bunch gold traders. But pretty much any jewellery store or pawn shop will buy gold at a few percent below spot. I am sure dan hoards all of his gold and never sells any.
what a Fantastic Clean-out! amazing gold! now if only i could find that much in Vermont hahaha, but that one clean up is probably more than all of Vermont has produced in the last 50 years haha. or maybe not who knows! makes me want to go out despite the snow and cold and get some cons to bring home haha...
