I have the Bambu A1 mini. It is very impressive. My first 3D printer was a clear acrylic frame Folgertech kit back in 2013. 3D printers have come a very long way since my first printer. Thanks for the great video.
3 months ago there was a firmware issue causing leveling issues and excessive purging. This was fixed a couple of weeks later. Right now, this machine is in a class of its own for sure and if you have one you would only replace it when it breaks or when you need to print bigger parts.
My first printer was a Anycubic Kossel. It was fun to see it working, especially in vase mode. it was very loud though and the bed leveling was a mess. Really fucked it up beyond repair when I tried fitting it with a silent stepper motor board.. Now this little thing is top of my list!
I'm trying to get into the 3d printing hobby, I was looking at a bunch of videos, and most people said to start out with the creality Ender 3 V3 KE (ridiculous name). i actually picked it up this Thursday, I set it up the same day. I kept getting a 2194 error ( cough cough creality 🙄)and at that point, I just returned it. So now I'm waiting for my bambu lab A1 mini to come and hoping it works. 😂
Started on a E3v2 in 2021. Bought a X1C w/ AMS this last January. Just purchased the A1 mini today, and I ordered the .8mm nozzle to go with it. Too many times when I'm running longer prints on the X1C I feel crippled that I can't print my various functional bushings, jigs, spacers for day to day garage projects. for $200 to gain concurrent prints is a steal. I'll likely buy another one in short order too. the .8 nozzle will work a treat for printing my small bits quick so I have lower downtime in the garage.
If you're just starting out like I was a week ago the A1 mini is hands down the choice. Also I know it's $150.00 more but get the AMS it's well worth it. If you have kids even younger ones this is very easy to use to start out. If you take your time you have your first Benchy in about 90 minutes. Then you can't stop LOL.
@@RadDadsPrintLab that's also started. Picked it up a week ago Wednesday and a it says I've already have 139 hours of printing time. Is this normal? Love your channel.
@@gtiguy1992able I was thinking about upgrading my Prusa Mini's hot end and a new Bowden setup, but that was going to run me a little less than $150 with shipping. So, with the A1 Mini at $199 (+ shipping at about $20) -- Duh! Then I decided to get the A1 too.
I have a P1S with AMS at home, but at the moment I'm spending more of my time at my parents house than my own. Thinking of getting an A1 Mini just so I can at least get some stuff done while there. I've got a couple things I'm trying to design myself that I occasionally want to test print, and loads of little things like HSW & gridfinity accessories that I think it would be good for. Not having to go back home just to print something minor, or taking up all my time at home with the printer would be nice.
I started in 2016 with a Mk2 Original by Prusa... Still use it, but now have a MK3S+. Ordered a MK4S on Black Friday (kit version) as with all the past ones, love assembling so i know how to work on them. I already am planning doing the CoreOne upgrade in 2025 when available. I do like the A1 Mini, at $199 how can i do wrong? Will be able to introduce my grand-kids to the maker world, I will transport this little guy to their home on extended weekend trips ... Thanks for your review, also Bambu should thank you for you got me to try their offering...
I started with a ender 5 plus but want to get this as most the parts I’m printing I don’t need the hassle of the figuring everything out and it’d be faster to have a smaller printer to do them
Its Such a hard decision. If you can afford it, I would get the AMS Lite. Theres a much larger chance that you will regret not getting it than getting it and regretting it. I hope that makes sense haha.
@@octaviasavage6404I’m generallly using sunlu, overture, elegoo, and Bambu lab . The 8+ rolls deal from Bambu lab is actually pretty good when you use the refills
So I got the A1 with AMS to replace my Neptune 3 pro and it's the best printer I have ever used and as I print a lot of stuff for youtube videos etc I decided to order the A1 mini as a second printer as 90% of the work I do will fit its smaller bed. For me in the UK the A1 mini is £150 so I ordered it 2 days ago and can't wait to get it. Great review by the way 👍
I Started with ToyBox a year ago .. Some one gave me a Ender 3 pro a week ago .. i already wana get something newer cuz i hate leveling the bed every time ..
I can totally understand that, for what its worth. Im actually working on the review of the bigger A1 at the moment. Its basically the same as the A1 mini, but just with a bigger build plate.

History: Some crowdfunded coffee table thing (fail), AnyCubic i3 Mega, Robo 3D, Hatchbox Alpha Delta (incredibly well designed and constructed), MonoPrice Mini Delta (cute), AnyCubic Predator Delta (huge volume, fast, wore it out doing COVID mask frames), Creality CR10-Pro V2. Current: Prusa Mini (1st batch, had to upgrade extruder and heat break), Creality Ender 5 Pro (Micro Swiss direct drive). On order: Bambu A1 Mini (replacing Prusa Mini), Bambu A1 (replaces CR10-Pro V2 for mid-size jobs) -- did not order AMS. These two, with Black Friday pricing, cost less than a new Prusa Mini.
Just got my 10 year old one for Christmas...I think i will be using it probably more than him lol he will probably print fidgets and toys so I'm not worried about the size
I have a Ender 3 Max with 300x300x340mm build volume and finally want to get a printer that just works... Really thinking about getting the A1 Mini without AMS for $199, but I really can't decide if I will regret the 180mm³ print size in the near future. It looks funnily small when I hold a 180x180mm piece of paper on my current build plate, but on the other hand I have never printed anything larger on it because I just expected it to come off after hours or days of printing... But maybe I would like to print larger if I had a reliable printer? I don't know 😭 Tbh I also could absolutely afford the X1C, but I just feel like there is something new around the corner, even if it's just the quickly swappable toolhead of the A1 on a new revision. I would hate myself after a $1500 investment if that happened, no matter how reliable it is in the current state.
I saw a really good suggestion from the next layer. Download Bambu studio and add the profile for the a1 mini. This way you can play with the slicer and see what things fit on that build volume 👍
