I tried the blur shader but it doesn't work with displacement. My God, how I miss this. In fact, there is a lack of effect shaders, they should be inspired by Substance Painter.
@@renderbaronYes, last release. It blurs the the procedural noises but it is not being recognized by displacement. Try it by yourself. That’s a so simple effect, every shader should have it. 😢
No, what I meant is that to my knowledge the OSL blur is a distortion controlled by a micro scale noise, which results in a blur on a macro scale: ua-cam.com/video/D65HyxaC35o/v-deo.html -therefore you cannot see a result with displacment.
Thank you for the excellent explanation. For so many of the OSL shaders listed, there are screenshots, with an example. I would like to know more about the properties of Toon Outlines and Toon Stylized Pass, but they have no screenshots of how they are suppose to work. Would you be willing to explain them? Thanks again for this video.
Every time I use OSL shaders on my Mac Pro it freezes C4D, and sort of corrupts the file. So unfortunately I have not been able to take advantage of this wonderful toolset. Anyone know of a fix for this?
It depends on the Mac version you are on. I believe (but not 100% certain) M1/M2 Mac machines are the culprit currently. If you are on a M1/M2 machine then try running in Rosetta it may work better for you.
the new era of Redshift
Thanks you so much Marc! I really enjoy your tips!!
Really helpful..Thank you 🙂
Welcome!
Superb...again :)

I think this is due to the fact that the OSL Blur is in fact a micro distortion based on noise. Did you try it with the latest RS release?

Hey James, welcome! :-) To be honest I have the same experience with that shader as you (zero?), so give it a shot, it easy. 🙂

Oh wow, this sounds like a bug. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this, as I migrated 3D work to PC workstations some time ago.

baaahhahaha I love it, this is procedural madness... thanks you thank you
If you love procedural stuff check this out: ua-cam.com/video/FVDxUtt-B4Q/v-deo.html 🙂
I'm on an M3 & it causes Cinema 4D to crash 😥
Redshift on M-CPUs can be a bit tedious… Try to use either CPU >or< GPU for Rendering under Render Settings/ Renderer/ Redshift/ Devices
I'd avoid using Mac for 3D rendering in general. Stick to NVIDIA cards.
@@PolygonDivision Guess you got a point there...
