    You are hands down the best nail tech teacher there is. Your teaching methods are straightforward and very simple

    A friend recently asked me to go with her when she got acrylics. She said her extensions only lasted a couple weeks at most and wanted to see if I could find anything wrong with the application. For starters, her nail tech didn't clean the dust off after removing the surface shine! She just put the primer straight on top of the dusty nails and then the acrylic. I have to imagine she was depositing a bit of skin and nail dust back into the bottle, too. I am going to show her this video. Even if techs have different ways of prepping the nails it seems like certain things would be the same.

    Great,I've noticed few tech I've spoken to had not realise that with push the cuticle back like you've done with wipe it gives us that little bit more room to play as cuticle with come back down over 24hrs coming close up to the enhancement . I even go back in with orange wood stick on next hand before I start just to make sure I've got it pushed right back, it Shane we can't take pictures the next day of our work when cuticles have dropped back ..
    Doing my nails for 20yrs how much things have change I was always told don't see saw too.. It's getting the right teacher/eduction that is the key to great lasting nails 💗💗

    • @kittybrowning
      @kittybrowning 5 років тому

      You can clean them with isopropyl alcohol and steralise them in a auto clave I put mine in a dish with acetone if thy get any gel or acrylic on them let them soak 20 mins give them a brush with my brush and it cleans them and the acetone cleans them.

    I was wondering if its possible to prep a really wobbly nail? Like bumpy. I know some people have bumps on their nail,natural or because of injury.And how you would do it? And I have seen people with cuticle down half the nails🙄 would be fun to see how you prep a really difficult nail!

    I learned to do my own nails watching your videos and I thank you very much! Recently I was a hand model and they were teaching to put a nail form for a long almond by lining the tip with the centre of the cuticle area rather than lining up the extension with the side walls. They still make an apex but the overall nail ends up being flatter. Is that wrong or is it a different way of sculpting a nail?

    Wow, Kirsty, you're very tan! For your skin's sake I really hope it's spray tan. Thanks for doing this video. Every time I think I've finally got prep down pat I learn that I'm still not that good. It could be because I'm my only "client," so I don't do new sets very often.

  • @belleo4999
    @belleo4999 5 років тому +1

    My nail tech did this process on me and I found the alcohol wipe and acrylic application afterwards made the cuticle areas sting and burn - Is that a fairly normal part of the process?

    • @V.I.C.
      @V.I.C. 5 років тому

      No its not.. it means that they took a lil to much live instead of dead skin/cuticle.. I'm so scared to do this to people bc if you take to much it could cause a HUGE infection.. noooo bueno! Lol so I barely touch clients cuticles for that reason exactly.. hope that helps a lil.. im sure Kirsty can explain it a lil better tho.. have a good one hun 😊

    • @allimunoz4794
      @allimunoz4794 5 років тому

      Jabeen Mistry it depends on what you prefer. With tips you can buy them pre-shaped and some people believe it’s faster and easier application but it has less c-curve. With forms you can create a deep c-curve and buy forms that have lines to follow for different shapes but you still have to freehand them.

    • @allimunoz4794
      @allimunoz4794 5 років тому

      Miranda Jones if you use tips then yes, if you want to grow your nails you can do an overlay, and if you want to extend but still have long nails you will have to just make sure you fit the form properly and sculpt it normally

    • @MissDraiha
      @MissDraiha 5 років тому

      In my not-a-nail-tech opinion, acrylics are the best for people with chronically damaged nails because it protects them a bit. When my name was recovering from cancer she had fakes on constantly because chemo made her nails so bad.
      If your mumhas acrylics she won't be able to bite them off because they're so thick.

      I did hard gel extensions on mine, because I was able to bite off acrylic if my nails. Having extensions was the only way that stop biting my nails. After a year I went to soak off gel manicure and now I wear my natural nails without biting them
