    I know Andrea dislikes her natural nails but they looked really good even given the fact that she hasn't had acrylics since March. Can't wait to see her set!

    Yey! Love “ back to basics” videos- always nice to see and be reminded:) Could you possibly talk a little about the correct speed settings for e filing, and the prep bits you were using? There’s like a gazillion different sized bits ( even on the 3 you used today) and different grits- and I personally find it difficult to use the right size/grit with the right speed . Thank you for an awesome video as always🥇👌❤️

    Until I started watching your channel I’d never heard of pinching , I’m from Australia , but now since watching you do nails I’ve incorporated into my nail routine and I’m loving the results on my nails. We are in lockdown again in Victoria Australia so just doing my own nails at the moment . Thanks for always giving great advise xx

    I'm so glad you demonstrated how to use the cuticle pusher! I got the same tool a few months ago and I'd always lay the tool flat on the nail (I'd only ever used wooden sticks before). I wondered why it hurt sometimes! I am prepping my nails as I watched this so I tried it at a 45 degree angle and WOW it was like unlocking a secret power.
    ps I am currently using full-cover gel tips so i use the pinching tool on the tip for a few minutes before putting it on. It curves the tip more and sets that way when I apply it to my nails!

    Hello sweetie 💙 Absolutely love ur nails, everything u create is so amazing and so very beautiful... Ur a true inspiration 💙 I sculpted a butterfly after watching u create that Monarch Butterfly... Mine is no where near as fantastic as ur Butterfly was, but I just wanted to show u how much u inspire us to let our creativeness flow... If I am able to send a picture of my Butterfly, I will... Thank u again for being one of my biggest inspirations in nail creativeness 💙

    Very informative video Kirsty, I feel for you in this heat I’m in the same position I don’t like anything over my face I’ve worked like that for years with no mask😷now customers have to wash their hands as soon as they arrive then put on the disposable blue double sided mask and a clear see through visor I have to wear it too, the visor I sterilise after they leave & tell them to keep the blue disposable mask for their safety travelling home, this is how we have to work as it’s health & safety, I look forward to the day we get back to normal living I can’t breath with all of these items over my face it’s a lot isn’t it? Wishing you a wonderful day hope you have a fan or a aircon unit to keep kool it’s going to be another day like yesterday very hot🥵🥵🥵😩

    Great video would be great to have a video on when you should stop prepping the natural nails, how do you know when you have all the cuticle off the nail plate and when to stop so that you don't damage the nail.

    • @allanscherman8851
      @allanscherman8851 4 роки тому

      Buffing the nail plate should only be about removing the surface shine as well as adding a bit of a "grip" to the nail. Use a slightly coarse file, a fine grit is counterproductive. Give it a wipe down with alcohol and if the surface appears matte, it should be enough.
      The cuticle should look clean and neat without bits of dead skin sticking out of it. I'd say you need to scrub off 95% of the non living tissue off the eponychium ( the skin surrounding your nail), only the transparent tissue adhered to the nail plate. Cut enough of it off so you significantly increase your nail estate but not too much so the area doesn't feel tender or tight. The cuticles should have a slight lift to them afterwards, but not too much, if so it means you've separated the skin from the nail plate which is a big no no. Good luck !

    Hi Kirsty hope you and your girls & Adam and his family are well and keeping safe.
    Could you please tell me where you got your cuticle nail drill bit from I’ve been after that kind for years I’ve looked on Naio web page and no luck there so if you have any ideas where I can purchase a drill bit like it . I’m not a professional nail Technician and only do my own nails as I’m a older lady in my silver years lol and have trouble with my arthritis hand so I can start of one hand have a spasm and it could be 2-4 before I get my other hand done and other days I could do a full set lol such is life so having the right drill bit would be a god send .
    Hope you can help this wacky batty old girl . Keep videos coming Hun you and Adam make my day . 🤪😂😂😂❤️🙏🥂x

    You were like Mrs Hinges with your lovely pink fluffy brush. Can I ask if you dont have an UV or led light can you still use gel polish on normal nails. X

    • @wendymoyer782
      @wendymoyer782 4 роки тому +1

      One needs the UV or LED lamp to cure the gel polish properly. Although there are "lightless" gel polishes on the market, I have not found them to hold up as well as the other. I am not a nail tech, just a consumer, but I hope this helps.🙂

    • @patriciagallacher6741
      @patriciagallacher6741 4 роки тому

      You need a light no matter how you use gel polish,you can buy gel like polishes though that are harder wearing and do not need a lamp,like a hybrid which is in between.

    • @heidirainey629
      @heidirainey629 4 роки тому

      No, gel polish has to have either a UV or LED light to cure it, depending on what the brand requires. That’s for both natural nails and enhancements.

    Hi Kirsty, I Love to watch your videos... You always make my day! 😊😀😊
    Thank You for this video... I see a lot of people in salons & video, during prep, moving the file from side to side... I've been taught, from the back to the free edge, not side to side, as this could damage the nail bed. What are your thoughts? Thanks... I Love to watch you work!! 😇💖😎✌

    • @geirvageng982
      @geirvageng982 4 роки тому

      Sue Funk not to answer for Kirsten- but I was taught that if you use a 240 grit file or higher you can go back and forth on the nail edge . It won’t reck the free edge. The reasoning behind going one way only with lower grit files is to prevent ruining the free edge.( tearing tiny fractures that will weaken the nail )😊
