Fun video. I haven't tried the Kalan, but I did have an official sample of Madras Cardamom. My experience seems to be a bit different and makes me wonder if the scent is event the same. I get more of a bergamot coffee scent. A bit different, but not really mind blowing for me.

I tried Kalan this past weekend. It was a big fat no even from the atomizer. Once on the card, it was no better Carlisle on the other hand was surprisingly good
Would love to try Zegna Bourbon Vanilla. As far as Kalan, its a beast off of me. Tried it at Nordstrom, the SA put 2 sprays on my arm and I damn near died on my ride home. The Spice for the first hr was unbearable. Even spraying it on card the opening hr was unbearable. I dont get the BR540 connection, oddly in the drydown 1.5-2hrs in it starts smelling like TF F'n Fabulous. Anyway Thx for the content

@@AGentlemansJourney77i saw outlaw frags saying it smelled like lafayette and went bought it and compared it to my decant i got from maxaroma and it actually does smell like it, outside of the that bond is stronger, but definitely the smell. I sprayed both on, the wife could tell the difference, but she said not worth buying a full bottle since i have a decant and tattoo. Just love the bottle color

Kalan is not BR450, to me, it this spicy woody with a blood orange and the blood orange doesn't work with it

I sampled Kalan and I really liked it. Totally differend scent than MFK's BR 540 i.m.o. I haven't sampled the Zegna yet.
And I haven't smelled the BR so I really don't know myself. I just hear from a number of people that Kalan is a cheaper smelling version....

The Zegna can be a bit harder to find if you don't have a boutique in the area. They always ran out of samples (so they say) when I went to the store.

Kalan only smells like baccarat rouge to noobs. an amateur nose might say they smell alot a like. but to me, NOPE!

Kalan sucked to my nose. Smelled like a chemical explosion. Smelled like freshly cut garden weeds mixed with round up weed killer. Yuck!
