Woodturning - Salt and Pepper Grinders Projects that Sell
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 сер 2021
- In this video we will be turning a matching set of Salt and Pepper grinders. I tend to have good luck with selling these items to help fund my shop costs. This has become my go to shape which I’ve made quite a few times now. I find it has nice proportions as well as a shape that feels pleasing in your hand.
I’ll begin woodturning between centers and forming three tenons. One on each outside and then one on the other side of the mill body. I’ll then drill out the items to the required size and form the outside profile. I’ll do the final shaping once the body and head are sandwiched together. Then it’s the challenge of trying to duplicate the shape.

I OWN those grinders now, thank you very much! Robert and Harry bring much joy to this 63 year old retired dude!
Couldn't have gone to a better home!
Great job Robert. They look great.
Love the mills. Well done.
Thanks Doug!
Those look nice, Robert. I'm glad you straightened Harry out so we can see him in your newer videos. Take care.
Bill
Very nice Robert well done 👍
Thanks Barry!
Thank you Robert! You are a great turner. I hope you’re having fun. My family and I are camping.
I'm doing great Patrick, how you and the family enjoyed the outdoors.
Awesome projects, Hodge! Harry is always a class act!!!
Never thought I'd hear Harry and class in the same sentence!
Nice Robert
Thanks Terry!
Looking forward to hearing more jokes from the class act.
Lovely mills, great work
Glad you enjoyed it John!
Nice Robert. There's something funny about that Beaver though.......
Yeah...he's a hoot sometimes.
Those are pretty cool and the color of the wood looks beautiful
Thanks alot Joseph! It's crazy how much more dense the dark wood is compared to the maple. I'd say it's atleast three times as heavy.
Awesome i like the spalting on the light one Great job Sir
Thanks Rich, it's ambrosia maple and it often looks like that.
Hey Hodge! Those are gorgeous grinders! Well done!
Thanks Seth!
Bela peça amigo, parabéns
This project is nothin' ta "sneeze" at.. 😊
Well done Robert. I always struggle with salt/pepper grinders. Have you moved? Not the same workshop....Well done, enjoyed it
Nope this was just old footage I recorded last year but didn't make a video from.
Good job Robert, how long will it be before you're appearing on the "Harry, The Beaver Comic" show hahaha
Haha, who knows Chris. I'll probably have to become his agent soon.
I didn't get anything from that video. You didn't tell us what the dimensions of the wood was when you started, how big when you were done, what kit you used, the holes to add the S & P, what you do so the top spins to grind the pepper, is the salt a grinder or a shaker?
You mentioned ambrosia maple; what was the dark wood?
The dark wood was called Dalmata I believe. Some sort of very dense exotic wood
