Nothing in this for me, but I’m very happy for the people who want these teams.
:)
1700 subscribers and 1700 views. That’s a loyal fan base.
:D
3:43 That looks like an extremely short preview to release window. I’m not saying that it won’t happen, but I am sceptical.
Nothing wrong with a bit of skepticism. I will say that kind of turnaround does happen from time to time.
I'm definitely looking forward to Brood Bothers. My hope is for a team with lots of flexibility via the roster.
Hope so! I'm thinking you might end up needing a few extra bodies to have every possible kind of Brood Brothers team you could run.
@@TabletopImpulse I reckon so too. I anticipate some oyumaru(/blue stuff+milliput/greenstuff) bodies to use up some extra arms... but will have to wait for the box to know if possible
8:06 Brood Lord has to take it down to an 8 model team surely.
I am also team "Patriarch fights almost alone" because how else would you balance him?
I don't know, 8 seems kind of low to me. We shall see on Saturday.
The timing for AoS4 & KT24 sounds about right to me. They might put a little separation between them to bolster sales, but if they do it’ll be KT that gets nudged closer to Q4.
Launching a new terrain set in lockstep with KT is not unprecedented. Moroch (in a manner of speaking), KT18, & ITD all did that.
I’d love a game with more verticality. That would also allow for some interplay with Necromunda.
:) I didn't think about the Necromunda angle. Good shout.
1) I’m really on the fence about Termination & weirdly it’s not for KT. Buying KT18, the Tooth & Claw versus box (because my son was collecting Space Wolves at the time), & the Wyrmblade kill team from WD has given me a significant jumpstart on a GSC army for 40K. Adding a Patriarch, Magus, Primus, & a squad of Brood Brothers really pushes the envelope on collecting an army by accident.
The Squats look interesting, but I’m just not super excited to play them.
2) I really, really hope that the new edition has more verticality. Being able to look down on a mid-level vantage point because there’s 3 levels of terrain sounds like fun.
I’d love more official map layouts.
A generic equipment list would be great. Teams could still have a handful of unique options, but a generic smoke grenade, a generic re-roll once do-dad, generic grenades, & generic climbing equipment all with examples of what different factions might call those for fluff reasons would save a lot of time & effort. That’d also make balancing easier because you only have to errata/re-jigger one entry instead of dozens.
More verticality is exactly what I have heard. Generic equipment makes sense to me but remember it is just something I think might be happening.
Is the logic that hivestorm is a new edition box, not a “red box” release?
That is my speculation, yes.
The brood brothers could be similar to the blooded which are my favourite team. I would enjoy this box very much but I’m still wading through the back log. For me it’s not worth spending money until I know how relevant the teams will be in this new edition
Yeah they could be very similar to the Blooded. I expect the teams to remain relevant, but there is little harm in waiting.
So I already have the broodlord and characters, wondering if they will sell just the brood brothers?
I think they will! Genestealer cult players will want multiple boxes for 40k.
@@TabletopImpulse hell yeah.. only problem is already painted the cadians and I’m not doing it again haha. Might have to find some kreig boys to put these on or something?
I am *absolutely* buying Termination via your link. I am not hype for Hivestorm, but the terrain sounds fun and I would like to hopefully pikc it via Box 2, 3 or 4.
Splendid, splendid. I'd probably be buying Hivestorm mainly for the terrain myself (I have a lack of patience and a youtube channel to service) , through Drop troop Scions are something I might feasibly build and paint. Vespid pretty uninteresting to me though. Are vespid really interesting to anyone?
I’m excited for everything except for the idea of a new edition.
How come Ian? New teams and new terrain sound awesome to me - obviously there is always the mystery of how many core rules they will change but I assume it will be light touch changes like warcry,
@@TabletopImpulse Mostly because I like this rule set and don’t like change.
I will say this... it’s the most interesting season three release, for me. I’m almost certain it’s going to be very difficult to get ahold of. So, I doubt I’ll be getting this one either. We shall see about the next edition of KT.
I'm optimistic about being able to buy it, I intend to be outside my local Games Workshop at 09:45.
Generic equipment lists sounds like a perfect way to give backwards compatibility to old teams where new terrain is required. Sure there was a rumour/quote about 'not investing in BD as it will have a short life span'. Brood Brothers have exceeded my expectations so far, including the broodcoven box is a great idea and an amazing potential £££ saving.
Please remember that a Generic Equipment list is entirely my speculation. I agree that the Brood Brothers look cool.
Why is the generatorum (Nightmare terrain) so bad? I am looking to sell that piece:)
It just does not seem very useful in games outside of Kill Team Bheta Decima, whereas these cute little line of sight blockers look like they could come in in any game set in the 40k universe.
If Hivestorm is really KT24 and it develops into that direction… I have zero issues with stop collecting KT. It really does not sound interesting to me at all. But it will probably depend on the models. But those can be picked up in a single box if needed.
Oh? What's the turn off for you? Don't want new modular ruined terrain? How come?
@@TabletopImpulse it both sounds complicated and boring at the same time. Doesn't catch me yet, little story telling. But to be fair both Bheta Decima and the Gallowdark Season Terrain were a disappointment. They said, we could build a complete Spacehulk with the Terrain :(
Oh yes, Termination will be my first proper two-team KT box. Can't wait.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@TabletopImpulse thanks. I am the opposite of a whale. No prior box quite met the threshold for big purchase (though lots of eBay KT stuff has found its way to me). I'm a little sad I missed the value of the old teams+terrain boxes. Though I'm chuffed I hadn't got around to getting the Brood Coven set already.
19:26 Oh gods if we’re stuck with three level building corners like all the 40K tables I see locally this will be an absolute shit show.
I hope it’s more like a multi-level Necromunda board, so instead of ruined building corners it’s gantries & walkways.
@@CrimsonTemplar2 same team, but that wouldn’t work at all for 40K.
Kill Team: Corner Edition!
I got my Kill Team terrain fix by buying Deadzone and some other Mantic terrain. Gets the Necromunda feeling across very well and is cheaper to boot.
(Oh, Deadzone is also a really fun game as well!)
A shit show why? Sounds cool to me! What am I missing?
@@TabletopImpulse terrain for 40K currently seems to be a bunch of L-shaped ruins that are tall enough to hide a small Knight, mostly with no internal floors. Adding two internal floors will just make them crappy to move minis around and the game experience will boil down to sniper nests. That’s fine if you want to play Stalingrad the game, but I rather like the fast paced dynamic movement & position based game we have now.
First?
Perhaps!
No audio mate 😅😅
This comment sucsessfully made me soil my trousers, but I am happy to tell you that the problem is at your end!
