@@AndyLundell That's pretty much it. Chinese garbage factories print random English on things because "that's the way it's supposed to look". It's actually considered important and a point of pride, because the success in producing a product is in almost a cargo cult ape-mimicry of the product rather than trying to do a good job intrinsically. Back when firearms were less restricted, you'd find Chinese guns made with random characters stamped on the side, random numerals where range marks would be on the sight, etc. China has had trouble eliminating these practices because they're a natural evolution of the "mimicry of the master is the path to mastery" cultural attitude. There are hundreds of thousands of incredibly talented Chinese engineers and artists who produce truly great work but they get overshadowed by the hordes of literal millions of copycats (who also immediately mimic anything the Chinese innovators create). It's very demoralizing for the people who are working tirelessly to create a true Chinese domestic market for innovation.

When he did the camera switch, I smiled inside a little bit. The nostalgia...
I'd been looking for a back up camera ... seeing those makes me feel truly grateful that I didn't just get some knockoff piece of junk just because the price was good. Thank you for the review.
I like how it says "Camera" on the lense cap, just in case you didn't realise it was a camera you bought. Although, to be fair, that IS debatable.

I had a Fisher Price analogue camera when I was a kid. It was well-made, robust and could actually take decent photos (although most of the time, there wasn't a film in it and I just pretended there was). It also had a really strong flash that you could scare your younger sibling with...
But how old were your kids when you ordered the cameras?
"Mom, can we get a camcorder?"
"We've got a camcorder at home!"
I really like how you've kept your videos the same as when you started. I came across your channel a decade ago when you reviewed the fake iPhone by Airphone. I recently re-watched it this year wondering what happened to Airphone Inc.
I appreciate how unform you've kept your videos.
The "control" camera still fetches close to £100 even 8 years on!

These cameras are really cool, they give you the late 90s early 2000s home footage type of aesthetic.
That final camera managed to both look and sound like your first review from over a decade ago. I saw someone else say this, and it bears repeating: you should totally make some "lost reviews" with it. It'd be a great way to get some use out of it, and keep it out of a landfill for a while.
I would 100% believe it was footage from a decade ago. If not more.

Fun little tidbid no one will care about:
The sound that plays when turning on the third camera at 13:16 is the same sound Microsoft ActiveSync 3.8 did when you connected a Windows CE device to a host computer.
I also believe that the fourth camera uses the windows 3.1 shutdown sound at 17:31
I KNEW I'd heard that before! Thanks!

This review is delivered with classic British sarcasm, tone and humour. Very enjoyable review.
The “Camera” lens cap is supposed to remind one of Canon?
Maybe it's more convincing if you don't read English.
@NozomuYume Thank you for the lecture Professor!
The whole camera looks like my Canon one, though a million times worse
@@AndyLundell That's exactly it. I've been thinking about buying a mask on Amazon lately. The brand name? PIGBINGO.

Brilliant! I think you've just provided some clear (ha!) evidence of why nearly all video coming from the man on the street throughout China looks as if it was captured with a 1987-era camcorder.
"they're using webcams from 1847" 😂😂😂
That last one is probably based on a security cam module, hence having infrared as an option.
Just gotta love the "Camera" and "DVC" logos. Take that, Canon and JVC!

I love that first camera that says "Camera" on the lens cap. Gives me the same vibe with shirts that say "T-Shirt" on the front.
"Prevent the device from colliding with hard objects". For some reason that totally cracked me up.
Most manuals would not need to state that, but after using that one, what's the first thing you want to do? But the book says No! No colliding with hard objects! Doesn't say anything about being rolled over by soft but heavy rubbery objects!
