VW window lifter channel replacement

The passenger window on our VW crew cab has decided it doesn't want to go up or down, which isn't ideal. Fortunately, this is a common problem and the fix is pretty straightforward, so let's have a look!

Hi, did you use any silicone or anything to help the rubber get to the bottom of the channel. Mine seem too tight to go in.
