    I love it. But why the whole video are your saying its great for the racers/autocrossers and not once say anything about the street guys?? Any benefits for street/daily drivers?

    • @GlobalWestSuspension
      @GlobalWestSuspension  7 років тому +2

      The benefit on the street is that it softens the ride over bumps and applies more power to the ground coming out of the turns, mainly noticeable with stiff high performance leaf springs.

    This is simple and brilliant at the same time, couldn't get any better with a solid rear.

    Please start selling these springs again!!! There are no reverse eye springs available for Second gen F bodies. I would buy a set asap.

    Can you combine this with the spring perch tilter for even more flex improvement/reduction?

    Hi Doug, another great Global West Video. I currently run the Del a Lum Bearings on my Second GEN Firebird. There are grease fittings UP and DOWN on the shackes. It seems your "Swivel" unit needs NO GREASE? Could you clarify? I also noticed that your Cat 5 springs are actually 5 leafs. Most all 2nd Gen Firebirds have a 4 leaf perch welded to the rear. I see your Shock plate is correct and flat, but you removed the lower spring rubber to get that done, Its better than a "U" shaped shock plate, but is that acceptable ride, noise wise? What is the spring rate on your special leaf?? Thanks a Lot. You folks are the "thinkers" in this business !

      Thank You for your kind words. Answer to your questions: first the swivel bearings are Teflon lined so they do not require grease. The 5th leaf removes the spring rubber cushion and allows us to have a positive index on the center pin. For racing we use a machined dowel on the pin that stop the leaf from shifting. We should do a video on why we do that and how easy it is to install. As for noise, we have not experienced any additional noise from removing the rubber cushion. The spring rate is 150.

      OMG how have I never heard of these leafs?? These will def be going on my 69 Firebird! Is there any benefit/negative to running a swat bar aswell? It doesn't take a genius to understand the effectiveness of this product. Great video, great product.

      I have a 69 also and wouldn't mind a set of these pieces yet I need more than a salesman persuasion about it.

      I Know the feeling.
      I just put the stock OEM types on my 69 Bird.
      Both sides had the original setup from factory and both sides had leafs that were in 3-4 pieces broken!
      Would love to have got those swivel units though

    I need these for my c1500 pick up
    Are those specific leaf springs, so they can adapt to those bearing shackles?

    Hey Doug, can these special Cat-5 bushing be made to work on a classic pickup with front and rear leafs on a restoration. This bushing is genius. Paul Satterlee

    Would you suggest the Cat 5 kit on a high horsepower drag car that has split monos, cal tracs, leaf sliders, and an anti roll bar? Seems to me should help and make things more solid and less chance of suspension bind.

    Very nice system. I'm wondering if the reverse eye leaf lowers the stock ride height? I am one that likes my stock ride height ('68 Firebird). My 235 9.3"w tires on 8"w rims work fine at stock ride height. A lowered ride height could cause an outside fender rub.

    How well will these hold up in a higher HP application with occasional drag use?

    • @GlobalWestSuspension
      @GlobalWestSuspension  6 років тому +1

      Scott the leafs are designed for high horsepower applications drag racing included. The key for you will be using a good quality double adjustable shock so you can adjust between street and drag.

      You could, we wanted the pivot (movement) to be immediate and without resistance. Thanks for watching our video.
