I've just started using this app and I quickly noticed that photos and videos will not load and the app doesnt function at all with my home wifi which is 200mbps, but was totally fine with 5G mobile data when I was visiting in Philadelphia. Do you know what wifi/internet speeds are needed to use the app efficiently? Does it need to be on data rather then wifi?
You need to be connected to the drones WiFi not your home network. That’s why it doesn’t work. You either edit with the drone on or download to your phone and edit off your phone. 👍🏼
I have the DJI Pocket 3 camera and see that you can put DJI filters on the videos in the light cut app cinelike. Which color mode do I have to record in so that I can overlay cinelike on the videos? Do you have to record the videos in D Log M color mode? Or does cinelike work even if the videos were recorded in 10bit normal color?
Hey Bobby, you can record in whatever colour mode and under the colour recovery tab you can select d log m or cinelike to fix the footage and then add a grade on top. LightCut should work really well with the Pocket 3.
I believe you can but then you have copy right issues. It also wasn’t the smoothest process. I wish they music with ability to auto edit to that track. Music isn’t terrible but it’s nice have something trending on social platforms. How’s your experience on the app so far?
Hi Demetrios, great helpful video here. If i record in D Log M and I just want to use Light Cut to color grade the video to give it more pop, is that possible with this app? How is the dynamic range when you do that? Especially in low light situations? Can this app manage sharpening as well? Also, if there is a light source in the video and you want to tone only that light source down to prevent it blowing out, can that be done?
LightCut has colour recovery tab to convert DLOG M footage. This app has other features too which you can use. Don’t forget this meant to be a quick editor. Not full blown program like resolve.
Hi Dimmy I purchased my Osmo pocket 3 yesterday. I’ve been out today just playing about a bit with some short clips however I’ve not had success in downloading them or the Lightcut. I get a message like there was a problem try again. Should I be connecting app via iPhone Bluetooth, or the wifi hotspot. I’m currently away from my home wifi internet but I assume this should work if I’m outside on the hop. Gold any assistance. Warwick
Hey Warwick, trying turning the device on and off, I know simple but sometimes it works. The connection would be via wifi so you would be disconnect from home network and connect to wifi of OSMO Pocket 3. Follow the instructions on screen of you iPhone when connecting. They can be finicky sometimes.
Thanks for sharing this video. I tried this app but I was not pleased with the video quality output. The clips from Mini 4 pro to light cut took too long transfer time for me and unfortunately the video output in 4k 30 was not nearly as clean as when I edited them with my pc video editor. The video output was quite unsharp compared to actual clip on the drone. I am sure this app is great but I rather use the editing on my PC.
Other phones don't interest me, if they don't integrate within the apple eco system why would I want to make my life more complex. Simpler the better. It's how you use it not the phone itself.
that's a correct answer. I'm also struggling a bit actually. I'm super interested in the Pixel 9 Pro. But Apple Products just WORK all time. No problems. And creative apps are working better on IPhone. That's a (sad) fact. So I'm pretty impressed by the DJI apps on IPhone. But read about many problems on Android. Will have a look on your full video when I'm back home. Looks good :)
So does this transfer to iPhone in full 4K res?
You can pick the output. When sharing to social media I output 1080p
Can landscape video template use portrait source clip, and the app will fill the empty space on two sides of the portrait clip?
You can adjust portrait and landscape into any format, not so straightforward. I use to crop my landscape to portrait it just loses resolution.
@ thanks for your reply

Is there a possibility to insert a logo into a video with this app? Thank you
Yes there is an option for this.

What do you mean by versions?
Can you import your own music?

Is the DJI Mini 4Pro compatible to the direct connection feature if I my phone is a Note 22?
Mini 4 pro is compatible
@@DimmyV thx for another great video.

@@DimmyV Thanks. That's all I need. A quick fix. Hopefully that works for me.
It’s doesn’t work when I pressed the shoot button..nothing happens..is this only suitable for iPhone? I’m on android.
I’ve noted tested on Android. I found it better to just use your native camera app and then import the footage to the app
