I bet that mister dragon man caused Ifrit's turn. And i think were originally as Noctis going to save Ardyn and defeat Bahamut. Thats what i think the original dlc for noct was going to be. because think about it, in most final fantasy games, whos a boss, and often a bad guy.........Bahamut

I get the impression that Ramuh might be sympathetic to humans too. Titan I'm not so sure about. Seems to me like the land, sea, and sky astrals are assholes, but the ice, fire, and electricity ones are sort of on the fence / sympathetic.
Ifrit turned on humanity because the people of solheim shunned the gods and acted superior to them, even though the only reason they advanced so far was because Ifrit gave them fire. The astrals have a sworn duty to serve and protect eos, so Bahamut killed Ifrit. Shiva lost faith in humanity until Luna came along. But yeah Bahamut is the bad guy of this story

@@mikelastname6148 we only know of canceling of three episodes, and come to think of it, perhaps there were too many (like, who cares about episode Luna if almost no one cared about Luna herself? lol) so it's still possible they're going to collect all the troops into the one final episode, something like Bahamut Episode. Not really. This ultimately lead to the Starscourge being destroyed. Ardyn never actually had to embrace his 'destiny' and start spreading it, he chose to do so, whether for revenge, or sheer insanity.
It was intentional. Ff 13 and 13 vs were supposed to be counterparts. One side accepting fate, the other defying it. At it's core, they are very similar. Ardyn and noct are basically l'cie
What I believe happened: Ifrit went nutters when Solheim rebelled against him and the other gods, the battle ended up destroying most of humanity and left their trust and faith in the gods shambled. To regain the trust of humanity, Bahamut ripped a piece from the Crystal and used it to create the Starscourge. Then after letting the remnants of humanity suffer for a few years, he appears and grants the Lucis bloodline powers as his chosen to combat the “alien” Starscourge. One he gives powers similar to his own, while the other he geves the power to absorb the Scourge, later using him as the “evil antagonist” with dark powers to oppose his champion of Light, who would be nothing without the “blessing and power of the Gods.” All of this, just a 2000 year long publicity stunt to increase the mortals faith in the gods who “protect” them.
@@richardberner585 Thank God.... through the anguish of this physical and mental torture paired with his slipping sanity, there’s no doubt he believed her to be the real Aera...
I think Aera is just illusion made by Bahamut. You can clearly heard Bahamut voice when aera is speaking -_-..... well Bahamut is reall villain indeed :P
no, she is clearly a zealot that will follow gods will no matter how flawed their decisions might be. Gods were probably afraid of star scourage so decided to take any option possible to get rid of it, no matter how amoral it was. They are powerful, but not omnipotent so there was something that threatened them.
No, it wasn't Aera. You could hear Bahamut's voice while she is the one supposed to talk, and she uses Bahamut's wording. Moreover, I saw it in the FF 15 wikia that it was indeed Bahamut, maybe there is some link to better source.
A clear sign that the good man that had once been a saviour was all but gone. Ardyn had nothing else to lose at that point, especially with Aera apparently backstabbing him (literally).
SpindlyWhale410 I wonder. If that was the real Aera, then why did she shield Ardyn from Somnus’s blow? Maybe the Aera that stabbed Ardyn in this scene is just another Bahamut’s trick. Though for some reason I see that the Somnus and Aera in the last scene is the last fragment of his humanity. And he just discard it as he laugh maniacally.
- You say I am not the savior of man, but his sacrificial lamb. And that I live only to die by the hand of the heir to an ill-gotten throne. That is the fate the gods have chosen to bestow upon me!? - The very same. I seriously cracked up at this. Bahamut's delivery was just perfect.
“I’m afraid you’re out of luck. The one you hope to see is not here”. (Nor is the one I WISH to see) *unsurpressable laughter* “Ah, but do pardon my surprise at this most unexpected development. How very nice it is to see you again, Lady Lunafreya”. ~ Ardyn Izunia; Dawn of the Future, FFXV, Resist Your Fate Ending - A Saviour Lost, Pg 93.
He'd just split himself into 13 different versions of himself, travel back and forth in time so he can travel to a certain point in the universe, start up philosophical speeches and light and darkness only to completely forget about them all together, sacrifice a few of those 13 versions of himself and replace them for no reason so he can replace them back again, Force the main characters to travel around for 3 more FF15 sequels to pad out his evil scheme and Etc Etc.
Seemed a bit out of nowhere though. My thought was, that he was chosen to be king, but when Somnus betrayed him, and caused him to succumb to the daemonic powers he had absorbed, they basically foresaw what he would do in the future, and (and this is just speculation) that Noctis (a descendant of Somnus) would become powerful enough to completely, erase that starscourge. That's why i can't really see Bahamut as the "villain". What i get from his matter-of-fact(albeit a bit condecending) speech, is that: This is what's gonna happen, and there's nothing you can do to change it. But hey the line of Lucis dies out, and you'll rest in peace, so just accept it and let it happen.
The starscourge is the true villain. Bahamut uses Ardyn and the whole line of Lucis as sacrificial pawns to end the starscourge. Bahamut's methods were harsh, but ultimately this was the only way to end the starscourge. Though if the new dawn dlc had come out, there might have been another way to end the starscourge without sacrificing anyone, but unfortunately it was cancelled, only to be written in a book.
Makes me feel vibes that ffxv is still apart of fabula nova crystallas cause we can agree that gods and crystals sometimes turn to be huge douches while the darkness/chaos turned out to be the lesser evil
i know FFXV isnt up there as top FF, but Ardyn for me is the top 3 villain bested by Kefka and Sephiroth and that laugh at the end is the best and the most terrifying ff villain laugh i've ever heard kudos to Darin de Paul for voicing Ardyn, perfect voice for Ardyn
3:50 - 3:52 was the last time we saw a glimpse of the face of the real, good hearted and “savior” Ardyn; and this is where he officially died. Now he’s in a path to madness to a point of no return.
Damn it’s really sad at 11:23 that he sits there almost looking miserable knowing his demise and end will be soon to the king due to destiny and fate, real eerie
I feel bad for Ardyn. I believe his story connects with a lot of people. Those who wants to fit in to but are rejected, considered outcasts, even have their trusts betrayed by those dear to them.
Ardyn’s story is really profound and enjoyable. If only the current developers knew how to tell a story and keep things a coherent whole. Ffxv may easily be the masterpiece that almost was. The biggest issue I have with the game is how they broke up the vital aspects of the story into DLCs. Plot points and character origin/ development is something that should be delivered standard in a final fantasy game. Could you imagine if in seven you had to buy a separate disc for each character’s arc? One for Barret and Dyne, one for Yuffie and Wutai, one for Vincent and Lucretcia, or Red XIII in Cosmo Canyon. Or even ( in the truest spirit of FFXV’s hoarding of vital plot points) the flashbacks of cloud and Sephiroth in Nibleheim? No. Because without all that it wouldn’t be close to the coherent complete game we were given. The same goes for all the other FFgames. All the games since four took the time to flesh out their story and characters before release. I would say that final fantasy 8 was a mechanical mess of a final fantasy game, where as 15 was a narrative failure.
Years late but I do agree that ffxv was an incomplete mess. There was too many sides to blame honestly, squares poor management when it was versus xiii along with nomura doing other projects, splitting dlc, the director having to take ffxv project without the guide from nomura, development hell etc. Its amazing how each beta build is so different from the final game
So... it's BUT THOU MUST kind of choice and trope: Ardyn has no choice but to submit to the Astrals' grand scheme, free will be damned. XV's Bahamut the Bladekeeper is now officially a dick.
Wow the gods really did Ardyn dirty, and Ardyn died on purpose because let’s be honest Ardyn was destroying Noctis and even picking him up and taunting him. Maybe that’s why Ardyn never explained anything to Noctis
I think the scourge was something that not even Bahamut could do anything about. Until he hatched the whole plot of giving Ardyn the power to absorb the scourge into himself and giving lucis the power to banish it through the power of the crystal. Without Ardyn and the Lucis line the world would have probably ended and Bahamut sacrificed two people to save the world essentially. Ardyn was basically the saviour since without him, the scourge couldn't have had been banished. Problem was that Ardyn wasn't Jesus Christ and had a problem of sacrificing himself for humanity.
Yeah, the endings of Ardyn's episode blew me out of the water. Darin DePaul is just exceptional with his performance. My eyes actually watered when Ardyn fell to the floor wailing. And Bahamut, as usual, knocks it out of the water with that demonic God voice effect, and the writing. That said, many people are saying Bahamut is actually a villain…But I think maybe he just realized there was only one way for the darkness/starscourge to be banished. As such, he would be more of a divine entity that is neither good nor evil.
"Please, Aera. Wont you free me from this curse" You can hear the suffering Ardyn has endured, physically and emotionally and mentally. Physically Suffered, Emotionally Shatter, Mentally Broken, Spiritually Angered.
Ardyn is one of my fav character in FFXV. The voice actor did a great job, portrait him to life 🥺❤️ He has been suffering for far too long, both physically and mentally. When he beg Aera to set him free, I’m all teared up 🥹🥹🥹
If Ardyn really wanted to defy his destiny, even the gods themselves, all he had to do was to look pass his vengeance and seek something maybe more fulfilling.
Ideally, yes. I think that's part of the tragedy of Ardyn's character though. By this point in the story, his mind was already twisted not only by hate but all the daemons and the memories he had taken into himself. I don't think he had it in him to look past his spite anymore. It's not like he had anything to live for.
This ending pissed me off. After all this and Ardyn has to suffer. I really wish the alternate ending we were supposed to get wasn’t cancelled so he could get his happy ending. Oh, well there is always that novel coming out next month. 😓
there was a time when Bahamut was the ultimate ally of the heroes, the creature that would test them to see if they where strong enough to defeat the villain; look at him now: a villain like many other, playing with other people like they were pieces on a chessboard. " You either die as an hero or you live long enough to become the villain."
9:17 just noticed how Ardyn's face aren't smiling or laughing when Lunafreya heals him, he thinks that Luna resembles her ancestor and "lover" being the oracle
I can't see Bahamut as a villian, I mean, instead of letting the Star Scourge spread, Bahamut use only one man (Ardyn) to focus the Darkness and kinda linked all Daemons to him. When Ardyn is finally defeated, all Daemons are gone, and Eos is saved. Bahamut sacrifice "a few" for a "greater good".
That mindset that a few can be sacrufised for "greter good" is very sick to me. Dictators used those words many times to establis their dictatures. I never would trust such person (and here I talk about Bahamut). For all we know, all of that "spread the scourge, then clear it" could be some board game he himself invented just to cause drama and happenings (and take few gods away in the process). For all we know, maybe not Ardyn's death cleaned star scourge, but Bahamut (who could do it any other day, any other moment, but choce the day when Ardyn died, as that was part of his game). Is not like he never been villain in other FF's.
he essentially has the power in his blood just by being born into the Lucis bloodline im guessing either that or the Starscourge essentially replicated the Crystals power but in a reverse form being dark instead of light
Anyone else likes how the music picks up the melancholy when he says “I’m no “mortal”, I’m a monster.” Also Bahamut is a dick for using a vision of Aera. #TEAMARDYN#THETRUEKING

Your the 'Chosen' one and your told by your Leader,Prophet,God that your meant to stop a great evil from destroying your people, pretty standard as far as game plots go but nonetheless and at the end of it you fulfill that duty and as far as you the 'Chosen one are concerned you succeeded, you fulfilled your destiny and saved your people but from behind scenes there was a force behind the great evil that you stopped and your completely unaware of it's existence but somehow you find out, whatever the circumstances were you somehow found out that there was something else going on. You investigate and discover the terrible truth. The Leader,Prophet,God that sent you to destroy the evil is really who caused it. You would be dumbfounded, you would feel like you got played for a fool and the realization that they were tho ones truly responsible for all the destruction caused by the so called 'Evil'. If there was any shred of truth that you were the Chosen one destined to destroy Evil then I think the answers pretty obvious...you need to kill the Mastermind and in this case Bahamut (and possibly the other gods)
The Master of Masters will return to make things right again.
This annoys me extremely. So it doesn't really matter because the gods play both Noctis and Ardyn. Yes I hate Ardyn but after seeing his story, gosh he is just another pawn by the gods and Noctis too.......fuck the ending.....

I bet that mister dragon man caused Ifrit's turn. And i think were originally as Noctis going to save Ardyn and defeat Bahamut. Thats what i think the original dlc for noct was going to be. because think about it, in most final fantasy games, whos a boss, and often a bad guy.........Bahamut
i think i have a theory as to what kind of thing they were going to do in the dlc each of the stories are about each character being puppets to the gods ardyn aranea lunafreya and noctis and episode noctis would have been the final episode where you team up with the 3 i mentioned to kill the gods hence the name dawn of the future
Ya I'm thinking that my self
I get the impression that Ramuh might be sympathetic to humans too. Titan I'm not so sure about. Seems to me like the land, sea, and sky astrals are assholes, but the ice, fire, and electricity ones are sort of on the fence / sympathetic.
Ifrit actually hated humans, but at least he had reasons beside megalomania.
Ardyn needed to enlist Lightning or Caius to really show Bahamut just how much humans can defy Gods- kill them to be exact.....lol
Or, he should had called 1-800-GOW-KRTS. Their leading professionals are exceptionally skilled at defying fate and placing your ill treating gods in their place, for a fee right for you! If he calls in the 30 minutes, he'll be eligible to receive the BOY cleaning service for free!

I will say Ardyn may be one of the best villains in the series....Caius as well, Cid and Vayne from FF12 were also quite complex (12 in particular has a few similarities well with FF15). Old school FF villains tend to come off more generically evil. A few of them represented concepts like darkness and the void- so their natures were only destruction and nothingness.
I'd say sorry, not really. He's a good villain but how they handled this game doesn't really emphasize it until the end. And it needed alot of extra stuff added in. I never thought Kefka was a great villain, and wasn't that big of a Seph fan either until Crisis Core though. I feel Ardyn could have been one of the best if the delivery wasn't so botched
This feels like the game is not yet over because the final villain(bahamut) still doesnt get beaten.

RECONNECT VERSUS.
Yeah if only the episodes weren't CANCELLED! But of course Square Enix have to be dicks about it. But you would probably see the gods be killed in that novel they are gonna come out with.
I think it’s more the gods needed the starscorge removed (we know it can corrupt them due to Ifrit), so they used Ardyn to get it all in one place and remove it from existence.
Super Schlecht I wouldn’t be surprised if Bahamut was suppose to be Bhunivelze in the earlier drafts.
It was intentional. Ff 13 and 13 vs were supposed to be counterparts. One side accepting fate, the other defying it. At it's core, they are very similar. Ardyn and noct are basically l'cie
What I believe happened:
Ifrit went nutters when Solheim rebelled against him and the other gods, the battle ended up destroying most of humanity and left their trust and faith in the gods shambled.
To regain the trust of humanity, Bahamut ripped a piece from the Crystal and used it to create the Starscourge.
Then after letting the remnants of humanity suffer for a few years, he appears and grants the Lucis bloodline powers as his chosen to combat the “alien” Starscourge.
One he gives powers similar to his own, while the other he geves the power to absorb the Scourge, later using him as the “evil antagonist” with dark powers to oppose his champion of Light, who would be nothing without the “blessing and power of the Gods.”
All of this, just a 2000 year long publicity stunt to increase the mortals faith in the gods who “protect” them.

It's called Crucifixion within the game's files.
Ardyn Refused to become a Kingdom Hearts Villain. He knew what he'd get himself into if he did.
Truly, Respect for this man.
What would he get himself into
He'd just split himself into 13 different versions of himself, travel back and forth in time so he can travel to a certain point in the universe, start up philosophical speeches and light and darkness only to completely forget about them all together, sacrifice a few of those 13 versions of himself and replace them for no reason so he can replace them back again, Force the main characters to travel around for 3 more FF15 sequels to pad out his evil scheme and Etc Etc.
Wow Kh lore is on steroids
He didn't have a choice but to be the monster, a shame.
A great antagonist.
So bahamut is the real true villian !?!?!
Unfortunately so.
Remember he doesn't work as a summon, only for once, against Ifrit.
@@kevi1813 , let me tell you, Bahamut is still responsible for Ardyn being a daemon, they gave him a power to absorb starscourge.

Why ardyn is the best character in ffxv
I feel bad for Ardyn. I believe his story connects with a lot of people. Those who wants to fit in to but are rejected, considered outcasts, even have their trusts betrayed by those dear to them.
the DLC came out in the peak of my depression right before my suicide attempt because of my longing for my old ex gf.

I can't see Bahamut as a villian, I mean, instead of letting the Star Scourge spread, Bahamut use only one man (Ardyn) to focus the Darkness and kinda linked all Daemons to him. When Ardyn is finally defeated, all Daemons are gone, and Eos is saved. Bahamut sacrifice "a few" for a "greater good".
yea, but did he have to fuck up someone's life so completely to do so?
That mindset that a few can be sacrufised for "greter good" is very sick to me. Dictators used those words many times to establis their dictatures. I never would trust such person (and here I talk about Bahamut). For all we know, all of that "spread the scourge, then clear it" could be some board game he himself invented just to cause drama and happenings (and take few gods away in the process). For all we know, maybe not Ardyn's death cleaned star scourge, but Bahamut (who could do it any other day, any other moment, but choce the day when Ardyn died, as that was part of his game).
Is not like he never been villain in other FF's.
