My man.. when you said the part about driving all the fast stuff but there's something about simple 2wd slower rcs.. I was like 100%.. I'm glad I'm not the only one.. because once I had my gorgan I over powered it.. but then put it back.. you just appreciate the rcs that almost never break.. nice video man.
@@basherz_den I think there’s an evolution every RCer go through. You can see it pretty clearly with other channels, as they change from someone newer to more experienced.
@RazorRC 100%.. I love the fast stuff.. I mean how can you not.. bashers etc.. but a solid brushed rig is every bit as fun if you run it in the right setting with the right group of people.. great video!
@@basherz_den but also hitting a jump on full speed is way more fun then a fast car on half speed i am going to the vorteks and make ot brushless i am going with a 2600kv 3660 surpass hobby motor with a 60a ztw esc to run 3s i dont have big 2s lipos only 6 times 1500mah for mojave grom
@politie_jip112 i agree full speed jumps.. wide open throttle hits different for sure.. I need to order a vorteks. But I'll probably just gear it up a few teeth and enjoy it as is.. but put a video together and tag me so I can see how it goes..
Thanks for the Vid. Overpowered Racing 8S, 6S, 4S.. etc. sometimes watching these smaller cars is truly entertaining. It's like I have to take my over steroided maxed out rig to ... a Casino parking lot (because they have the friggin room to max out my speed for 2.5 seconds) But with these smaller ones , you can just go to your local park and behave civilized... maybe take your wife/significant other for a walk... lol
as soon as i saw these come out i wondered if the Raider was going to come back. i remember seeing that thing in my local Hobby People when they were still around here in Cali.
I would love to see a comparison video between the Fury and Slash XL-5, as well as a comparison of the Vorteks vs. Rustler XL-5. I know they aren't really all that similar, but they are direct market competition.
Hands down arrma vorteks and fury beat the traxxas rcs. While right now there is endless upgrades for the traxxas and limited options for the arrma I would still buy the arrma vehicles. Performance wise arrma wins here also.
@JasonPaige-hz9wx yeah I have a stock vs stock video on my channel. The Fury handles significantly better. The base XL5 traxxas rigs aren't very durable, especially the gears. But I've done a brushless conversion to both, as well as mod .8 gears and LCG chassis for the Slash. Will post another comparison video soon, equally modified
@@K5_RC that’s awesome. I will be looking forward to the video. I have a slightly modified losi 22s sct and was racing a slash with a lcg chassis and Amazon $29 shocks, brushless motor and aluminum hubs and was amazed at the difference between the 2. My 22s sct looks like a refined machine vs the xl-5 slash. But with $160 in mods the slash made my 22s look like a rustic machine.
The fact you said this is better than the rustler 2wd I think has sold me. I have a stampede 2wd I got used on the cheap with a vxl, I’ll probably put the vxl in this and then maybe use the 2 in 1 esc to revive my raider v1
I love these because they give me options for RCs I can buy to allow friends/family to run and race at family gatherings. They are tough and relatively inexpensive. Now if I could just get some of these mooches to buy their own 🙄 😂
The model I'd like them to resurrect (though I understand the reasons why it probably won't) The Nero, that's the one I want.... Just the name for Nostalgia and a revamp on its suspension, even if the diff arrangement would need a different design... I'd love that.
I'd love to see Aarma make a more pro version, brushless, aluminum parts, lipo ... it could be double the price and that would still be a bargain. I'd buy that.
Hello I hope someone has a answer for me, so I just got a vorteks and I noticed from a stand still too full throttle is had at least a 2 second lag, or when I reverse a little bit and than full throttle to try and wheely and power just cuts until I let go, is this because it's a brushless motor? I know brushed motors have a better response time, I hope someone can explain it to me
Worth noting that while the diff is sealed, much like traxxas, it comes with grease from the factory. And high sulfur grease at that. Extremely disappointing imo. It’s not like it saves them that much, but it does make it a massive pain to fill them with fluid because you have to get every spec of that stuff out
I hope your statement about the rustler is the same feeling my kid gets when he gets this for his birthday because right now my rustler has set the standard since the vxl3s brushless and 3s power conversion
I will never pay for an arrma off road vehicle again. That is till version 5 comes out. Way too many headaches, unfixable flaws and expenses... The 2 on road aarmas I've owned have been great
The 6S Arrmas are unfortunately not quite as problem-free as I think many Arrma fans portray them. They're still decent rigs though. Just not as durable as claimed.
Unfixable or you don’t know what you’re doing? I’m not a fan boy of any one brand , but I’m betting you don’t know what you’re doing or you’re the type to hit a tree head on and blame arrma 😂

Glad to see ARRMA rereleasing the 2wd Vorteks with an upgraded chassis. I had all the 1/10 2wd vehicles arrma made back in the day.
You're an OG!
I'm loving my Vorteks , hobbywing 3700 kv 120 amp ESC . Wheelie bar , 55t spur and 20t pinion and she hauls !
Wheelie bar part number please.
Thanks
Right on!! ARRMA just keeps knocking it outta the park!! thanks for posting!

Like the vortek. Tempting for $150.00
Looks like a nice car

Nice I like the vorteks outta them both and didn't no u could get the gorgon as a kit to build that's pretty cool maby they do that for these.....
I had the old 2wd vortex and I was pretty nice but I bet the newer one is way better being mid motor and more durable.
Does this mean we're gonna see an updated 4x4 Vorteks soon?

That would be cool, but unfortunately everybody feels like they need all these driving aids (4x4, TSM/AVC/gyros) that nobody would buy a $300 2wd. 🙁

Bring back the raider but 1/5 8s
Probably faster than the Fury, due to the larger tires on the Vorteks.
