I just purchased the Harbor Freight electric splitter after seeing many great reviews. But I’d bet every single one of these splitters are made at the same plant in China. They simply put slightly different handles/wheels for different companies that sell them. The motor, beam, ram, and wedge are identical on all brands.
Been using the Boss ES7T20 for three years now. Best $400 I ever spent. It ain't the fastest, but I'm not in a big hurry, and the 7-ton rating means it can handle bigger rounds. And the one-handed operation is a huge plus--no logs exploding in your face.

I have a 5 ton electric splitter that requires both hands to operate the buttons required to make it run. You end up over the log being split which can lead to dental work. The one handed lever allows you to stand clear of the log being split.

I bought the boss industrial electric splitter a year ago, and I love it! I split ash logs up to 16 inches in diameter, and it works quickly!
I would like to know how the bilt hard can operate in the vertical position.

How is the one handed splitter safe? Or is the idea that you can use it even after you accidentally cut off one hand?

One handed operation lets you steady the log with one hand vs letting the wood fall on your feet.

Look in the instructions for the air relief valve/bleed screw.
Also, make sure to check your oil level.
