LOYAL FORD OWNER FOR 47 YEARS UNTIL LAST YEAR. THEY JUST REFUSED TO DEAL. I RESEARCH BEFORE I WALK INTO THE SHOWROOM. THEY JUST WOULDN'T BUDGE. SO I WENT TO CHEVY. I'M HAPPY
I’m not happy with any of them. GM is having fuel pump module issues and should be a recall except there’s no fix. It’s just R&R with like item … that still fails.
Had the same problem with ford back in 1975. Wouldn’t let me order what I wanted, so I went to Chevy. Ford wanted $7800 for a truck that didn’t have all what I wanted. Chevy was going to give me everything I wanted for $6,400. I’ve had 13 fords and 1 Chevy.
@@GWAForUTBE It's not a Scooby Doo Mystery that because there are 90+% more Gas cars on the road there are more accidents. At least they don't burst into flames even in a small accident.
🛑 Honda batteries. I had the same problem with this year. Shottenkirk Honda is the worst. The Honda battery was warranted But wanted in $89 diagnosis fee and a $30 installation fee. I went to Walmart. Got another $69 battery which I've had good luck within the past. Took the old battery back and set it in the floor of their sales department and told him what they could do with their Honda highly advertised 100 months warranted battery. Mine was only 2 years old And totally dead. I had to jump it twice. Three Shottenkirk dealerships we have dealt with and all are crap. They just sold one of theirs here because people quit buying there 😊.
It was a good thing, too because they were garbage. I had a 1970 Maverick 6 cylinder with a three-on-the-tree manual transmission. Among other things, like the manual steering box stripping out while I was driving, the cast pot metal stick shift collar broke when when I shifted into third gear! It's a good thing I wasn't too far from home when that happened. I had to get the car moving in third gear from a stop at each traffic light until I made it home. But, replacing the steering gearbox and then the broken shift collar was indeed pretty easy. 🙂
My first car was a 70 Maverick, very easy to work on. The only problem I had was valve stem seals disintegrated at about 80k mi. I had it a several yrs til the whole car disintegrated. Big complaint is there is no glove box just a shelf that stuff fell off from when you made a sharp turn.
I don’t get it, I keep hearing that Jeep is doing really badly, so I went to check out some wranglers. They are still at ,50,60,70,80 grand. 80 grand for a wrangler?!?!?!? You’ve got to be joking
I wouldnt pay $14 for an electric car. Even if that $14 also got me a charger and free electricity/charging for 10 years. Any car, no matter how it is powered that cant drive me 512 miles to myrtle beach on one tank of gas or one charge is useless to me. My mini all4 does it on 14 gallons, my v6 tiburon with 16 gallons did it, my 1990 and 1991 escort gt did it with only 10 gallons, and my tdi golf with 14 gallons got me there + another 150 miles around myrtle once i got there. And if an electric vehicle could get me there on 1 charge.... the last thing i want to do is try to charge it after 7.5 hours of driving it when its 90+ degrees down there.
I have to commend a dealership (Serra Ford) in Michigan. They replaced a battery at year 2.5 of a 3-year lease. I didn't have to fight with them. Shop around. There are good dealerships (no I don't work for one).
Regarding the batteries. Most regular automotive batteries are made by three companies, Johnson controls , Stryten, and East Penn. So instance the same $225 battery you’re buying from the discount auto parts store, you can also buy that same battery pumped out on the same line at Walmart for 100 bucks. Same goes for most of your manufacturer branded batteries don’t be fooled.
I know this off topic but why did ford never recall the all wheel drive units ? The ones that were not able to change the oil , can’t believe that every single one has not failed . Pieces of crap ! I have a 2013 edge replaced p t u and the transmission , bought the car brand new .
They would not have to hide unsold vehicles if they would sell them at a descent price. Its crazy they want $50k plus for a Transit. Its a bare bones vehicle with and engine.
Uber was structured from the beginning to go to driver-less services. Human drivers are used to collect trip data for a given metro area. Whether it was profitable was a secondary issue. The long term value is the trip data. With the tens (100's) of millions of trips now recorded and analyzed, they now have the data to position vehicles by time-of-day for automated/driver-less management. Human drivers were only a means to an end as they had to get the data to transition to fully automated vehicles.
Beep Boop battery installed. Scotty why won't these major dealerships that have tons of inventory that's over 500 days + sitting on the lot get rid of the cars with a deep discount like 30g for a brand new 2022 F150. I know greed is good, but they are losing their shirts and they would keep their loyal customers super happy with these types of discounts. They already lost tons of money on the car sitting for 2 to 3 years now with that 98K price tag. Thx.
98 Dodge Quad Cab I paid $23,000. Fast forward to: I sold the truck for $2,500. And the truck had 62K on the odometer. I added a painted to match fiberglass shell and a bed liner and fiberglass painted running bards. I ate my boxer shorts on this piece of crap!💩
You Tuber Clutch Trucker delivered in one of them caves really cool. Before retiring our trucking company serviced the Ford Ranger plant in St. Paul MN. I worked out of there filling in , awesome walking through the plant. Lot of automated welding arms!
Hey Scotty I’m looking for a one ton truck to tow a fifth wheel and would like to hear what you would buy. The fifth wheel I’ll be pulling is a Brinkley 3610 and GVWR weight at 17,695. I am currently looking at F450.
Most people use a self checkout nowadays, I don't. But new generations do you won't beat it, and you won't change it. Easy way to stop driver less taxi, dont use them.
150,000 rides versus an average 18.7 million rides a day from human drivers. Is not much. These companies also don't realize humans are cheaper than the robo taxis. It costs over $80,000 for 1 of those Waymos, and that's not even count the maintenance on the radar systems. Big companies can be very stupid sometimes.
These companies don't care about selling vehicles that they can't use at affordable prices and here's why. If they did that then they would wonder why a brand new vehicle wasn't sold at that price that could still form a profit to begin with. It would contaminate their market perspective and business model. There's no such thing as inflation just extortion. Companies don't care about small businesses companies make too much money so that they can buy small businesses to lock out the market and then you have to pay whatever price that they tell you to.
Unlikely. Small cars are getting killed off in Europe due to low profit margins on them combined with new emissions standards. I bet you are on the same path, just few miles behind us
They really can't here, and the "why" is wrapped up in economics and politics. Bsaically, the car companies have fewer regulations on bigger vehicles (this is a big reason we have the eternal churn of CUVs and SUVs and full-size trucks), so their profit margins are bigger for similar tooling costs. That, and the US market tends to prefer bigger cars (we always have. Even in the very early days, and that's due mostly to our bigger highways, roads, and preference for smoother rides over longer distances than Euro or J-spec cars). There's also - the chicken tax. A 25% tariff on light trucks - that ensures none of them imported here, new. JDM light trucks and vans - yeah. They can be built and sold cheap. But their market prefers smaller, they're not paying a quarter of the truck's value in import tariff before you can even get it on a dealer lot, and they ave fewer safety and other assorted regs like we do here. Take the CR-Z for instance - the JDM model didn't have a backseat at all. Honda had to put an utterly useless backseat in it - due to our safety regs, and price it higher. We really got screwed by "Unsafe at Any Speed," because safety regs here went overkill vs. functionally anywhere else. The JDM market also doesn't have to worry about things like excise taxes, bills of lading, or long-distance shipping costs for the domestic market. We do. You're welcome to wish it all you want, but until the laws change, simple fact is, we won't be making them or importing them.
Yes, you just took the words out of my moutth. Had a ' 63 Impala with the 283. Nothing but problems with the valve train. You would think after over 60 years they would have figured it out.@@DCSPORTSTER
Screw these companies and their electric deathtraps. Who wants a ride that takes a couple hours to charge? It's like my dodge dart that I'd have to let "rest and cool off" after 3 hours on the highway. Why would i want the same experience but the dodge dart cost 250 bucks and a distributor cap? Cmon
Hi, scotty have you dealt with nissan elgrands if so what do you think about them? What are pros an cons? Like any common problems they may have. I have a nissan elgrand 2007 e51 series 3. Would like to know the bad and good.
So what will Ford do with all this overstock of vehicles? We’ll they release 2023 and 2024 models to dealers who are trying to get rid of the 2025s? Just start selling them at the prices they were in 2019 and you’ll move them and still make a profit.

Mine was only 2 years old And totally dead. I had to jump it twice. Three Shottenkirk dealerships we have dealt with and all are crap. They just sold one of theirs here because people quit buying there 😊.
Mini dealership 300 bucks to check brake fluid, and reset alarm on my 2020 Countryman.Friend, video, fluid 31 bucks🤣🤣🤣🕺🏿👍🏿
I want one of those old Ford Mavericks! What an easy car to work on.
I'm glad to hear they didn't crap their pants though.
Can you buy one of those Mavericks?
Next Stellantis will sue their customers for not having any loyalty to Stellantis by not buying another Stellantis made vehicle.
I have to commend a dealership (Serra Ford) in Michigan. They replaced a battery at year 2.5 of a 3-year lease. I didn't have to fight with them. Shop around. There are good dealerships (no I don't work for one).
i think those old mavericks look better than anything on the road today!
Auto industry is toast😮
They can go out of business far as I care, I'll keep maintaining and driving my 20 year old pickup
If the Chevy "Bolts" Battery replacement cost is anything like the Chevy "Volts" cost, you'd be CRAZY to consider one of these cars.
It freaking amazes me that ford would rather stick F 150s underground instead of pricing them reasonable where NORMAL people could afford them.
I wouldn’t mind having one of those old Mavericks there 10 times better than what they are building now.
Gone in 60 seconds, but in a cave!! Where is Nicolas Cage and Vin diesel when you need them!!
They grow corn underground and it's amazing all about things that they do with corn
When I noticed the electric F-150 didn't have a solid rear axle, I decided it's not actually a truck anymore. Therefore it's not an F-150.
Thx.
And happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
I need one of those Mavericks with an inline 6.
I thought the bolt was recalled bc it can catch fire spontaneously
I will pass no matter the discount
Such a shame why don't they give them to people in need or at least sell them at a discounted price. Shane on you
It’s crazy that you can’t even find/buy a 5 year battery any longer. One place I found was selling a 30 day battery for $80. WTH
Bought my grandson a 73 Maverick Grabber. Wish we could get in to that cave
My 2012 F150 5.0 V8 has 35000 on it. At 71 I'll die long before my truck does.
Yeah my 2012 has 306 on it. The ones they make now are just bad.
Yeah my 2014 6.2 Lariat has 22,000 miles on it.
Costco. Got an interstate with 810 CCA. $147 out the door. Less core
I by parts at dealer because there better not more expensive but home depot batteries cheaper and good.
Sucks to be Honda, now 6.4 million people know how greedy you are. Customer service at Honda is billed by the minute.
Why is everything that used to be so straightforward, such a game now?
I wonder what happened to the mavericks ?????
These companies don't care about selling vehicles that they can't use at affordable prices and here's why.
If they did that then they would wonder why a brand new vehicle wasn't sold at that price that could still form a profit to begin with.
It would contaminate their market perspective and business model. There's no such thing as inflation just extortion.
Companies don't care about small businesses companies make too much money so that they can buy small businesses to lock out the market and then you have to pay whatever price that they tell you to.
Its like the 1970s all over again with the quality standards
I bought a older ford Maverick and it was a great little car 🤷
Would love to have one of those old maverick not so much technology could fix myself
I wouldn't pay $1400 for one those 1 year old bolts. And that's OTD.
I used to drive a Maverick to college in 1973
Be a cold day indeed before I pay what they want for these new trucks!
Thank you for the truth!!!
$70,000 for a vehicle? That’s how they will accomplish “you will own nothing “. It’s not about evs either, it’s about people not driving at all
It's strange how they still go for 30k a pop despite apparently not being sold
Ford in Dalton Ga did same thing 2 me about battery on a Mustang
I never go to the dealership
Dealer repair shops are crooks.
I go there and then leave when a salesman comes out to talk to me.
Is that where you learn how to deal poker ?
How do you buy a new car, without going to a dealership? Do you buy one off the assembly line?
I wish they'd start making the smaller vehicles like they're making over in Japan the smaller trucks and vans that sell cheap.
Dude! The way you deliver automotive news shenanigans is hilarious! 😂😂😂
Just everyone do yourself a favor , don’t buy Fords !
Some cars are as expensive as my first house. Which I understand if I bought it I'd have to sleep in it!
Scotty, Do you have a favorite brand of battery you would recommend?
The announcement FORD should be making is to get rid of Jim Farley!
love my 2024 gmc sierra.
You better 😸
Don’t worry the honeymoon will soon be over on that vehicle.
Yes, you just took the words out of my moutth. Had a ' 63 Impala with the 283. Nothing but problems with the valve train. You would think after over 60 years they would have figured it out.@@DCSPORTSTER
Near where I live there is a mall that's almost deserted. The parking lot is full of new Jeeps of all flavors.
Where is that?
@Cranberry-muffin
Long Island
....but the insurance to cover said vehicle will Not be cheaper no matter what the price or rate of depreciation becomes.
Seems funny to get car advice from Dennis Hopper
This is old news their transits are being sold left and right but their F150s is sad. But yeah this is old news.
They can store them all until they drop the msrp 50%
They will probably just retitle all of these unsold vehicles and ship them off to Central and South America or the Middle East.
We will find them in 100 years
They can't sell the Transit vans? A few years ago you couldn't touch a new one.
I'd tell Walmart to give me my old Honda battery and take it back to the dealer and exchange it for FREE instead of $400
If we don't use them, no need for them . 🤔
