Gayle unnecessarily going through EVERY single trauma Robert put Sheila through was SO uncalled for. Like a simple "he wasn't a good husband" would've sufficed. To me it looked like Sheila was literally wincing as Gayle so proudly went through every single event. Mind you, Sheila states AT THE BEGINNING of the interview that she suffers from PTSD so why would you have her sit there while you needlessly pronounce all these horrors. Oprah used to do this to other women as well and I've come to the conclusion that because Gayle was also betrayed by her ex husband, there's a slither of relief she feels when she gets to listen to someone else describe their pain. Like it somehow makes her feel better about her own. And sure, these salacious details "help" in selling the book but how much do you need to divulge in the interview anyway that we won't read for ourselves. Nancy Giles did a FANTASTIC segment with Sheila on the very same book right here on CBS. There Sheila actually speaks on how awful it was for people to constantly remind her of the betrayal Robert put her through, so much so that she found her farm to get away from all that painful negativity. Gayle did a similar thing to Tisha Campbell by stating that Tisha's career didn't end up anywhere significant. Like what?!? Why would you even disrespect a guest like that?? Nevermind one who is an ICON? Thankfully there people caught this and spoke up in the comments. Someone needs to talk to Gayle, her spirit is off when she speaks to other Black women.
Her spirit is sold off that's y. I met a guy a month ago who told me. Having seeing this interview I see. I've seen 2 others Rkelly & Meghan 🐴 and she allowed Kelly to rage all his bs but doesn't give women the floor to speak. Terrible.

You aren't making sense, because Ms. Johnson shares all this in her book. I believe Gayle is detailing the stories to push for more people, especially women to read the book. Not only is it inspiring it also highlights that many women, especially Black women have the same story and it needs to be talked about more. It's very weird and almost demonic to say she gets off on hearing other women suffer. Cleanse your spirit first.
I am so proud of her. So few women have the luxury to speak their truth in spite of powerful/rich men. Looking forward to reading her book. #kudos

I cannot stand Gail. Not only does she ask the questions. She answers them! Then asks other questions before the guest can finish them. CBS shortchanged Ms. Johnson allowing very little time for the interview.

I love watching shows of different races, colors, backgrounds, etc., especially being Latina, we still don't have a lot of representation in the media, especially not Mexican Americans (apparently we aren't tv ready.) The only thing about BET is that it is exclusive, meaning shows like The Game or Mary Jane, only the first 3 seasons were on network and the rest were on BET, which I get you have to have a subscription to. But even after streaming started the shows weren't available there either. Now, I may not know any back stories of contract negotiations and such. I'm just saying, I wish more of these shows were available to a wider audience on some of the other streaming platforms like Netflix or Hulu. Because I can't afford to subscribe to every single channel, after all isn't that what killed cable?
Maybe if Sheila were the one running BET instead of being suppressed by her ex-husband and her mistress, the channel wouldn’t be such a hot mess. I wish she were in charge today!
BET is a disgrace and has lost its roots of Black Excellence. Heart breaking. Hopefully someone will take the bill by the horns and get BET back to where it used to be. Blessings to Ms. Shelia. ❤
