So, just as a funny little tidbit... in the Swan/Acheron short (the dancing one), Acheron didn't pretend to forget who the Annihilation Gang was. She just... literally forgot LMAO You'll learn more about it later in the game itself, but basically she has really awful memory. Edit: Btw, Aventurine easily has some of the best backstory in the game, so I'm glad you're interested in learning more! The storytelling for it was so good, and he has so much more depth to him than just being a gambler obsessed with money. I honestly thought I was going to hate him, but he's definitely one of my favorite characters so far.
Yeah this is what I think is so great about that scene. She literally killed a massive threat that is supposedly extremely powerful and just goes "oooh right, those guys" lol Lorewise I'm genuinely curious how high she ranks amongst the most powerful non-Aeon characters in HSR. She didn't even seem particularly bothered by Welt threatening her. Who we know is insanely powerful in the Honkai universe.
@@doggie689 Don't forget that she wasn't just being blasé there or that she forgot about the Duke or the Annihilation Gang because she thought they were weak. Based on her words when referring to him later on, she actually has quite the respect for the late Duke and his commitment to fighting to the end as well as his convictions. She's forgetful because Self-Annihilators lose more and more of themselves as time goes by, starting with their memories, moving on to their sense, eventually culminating in their selves entirely. That's why she's so sad when she pulls out that peach and tastes it in her idle, it's a reminder of her losses.

@@doggie689 I suspect very strongly that Acheron is the strongest of the (currently) playable characters; much more so than Welt. Welt's power is pretty diminished from his peak. He also seemed pretty powerless to do anything about Aventurine, while Acheron just one-shotted him. I'm unconvinced that Welt is quite as powerful as an eminator; he's maybe half a tier below them. If he still has all the power he did in his prime, then yeah, he's the strongest.
Something that's important to note is that, if I remember right, Black Swan is a metaphysical entity (its something that iant really explauned unless you read the lore). She's basically a consciousness that can appear in a physical form and enter people's minds. So when she enters Acheron's mind, she is literally being torn apart by the infinite abyss that is her memory. Black Swan was an inch from death by the end of the animation.
The thing at 45:15 I'm pretty sure is a paramecium (judging by the shape and the groove it feeds through) devouring a bacterium or other food particle. As a biologist it stood out to me as a remarkable detail to include. Whoever worked on the short really went looking for something recognizable to show 'hunting' at a microscopic level of existence, and imo they succeeded, provided you've seen footage of it before. I haven't seen a single person watching this short identify it though, and you're the first to even point it out.
The thing with aventurine is that he kinda... has an unhealthy habit of gambling his life for getting what he needs. He is the sole (known) survivor of his clan, and has the blessing of their god, so that his luck makes him escape death every time. He uses this in his favour for working in the IPC.

Here's some context for the Dan Heng short as I understand it (anyone please correct me if I'm mistaken): To begin with, the Xianzhou alliance is between 3 long-life species including Xianzhou natives who are the humans like Jing Yuan who long ago received a "gift" from Yaoshi the Aeon of Abundance, the Vidyahara who are descended from dragons and who achieve their long-life status by dying and reincarnating (like a phoenix I guess), and Foxians who naturally live to 300+ years. In the intro shot (9:53) you see his previous incarnation's (Dan Feng) perspective of a meeting with the other 4 members of the "Quintet": Jing Yuan and Jingliu who you already know, then the Foxian girl is Baiheng, and the guy on the right is Yingxing. Dan Feng is at that time the High Elder of the Vidyahara. During this time period, the Xianzhou is actively at war against the Abundance's minions. His "sin" is that after some major battle vs the Abundance, Baiheng dies and Dan Feng & Yingxing get their hands on some artifact or text or something of the Abundance and attempt to resurrect her which is a violation of the first rule of the Xianzhou alliance. However something goes wrong with this ritual which results in Yingxing gaining immortality and becoming the abomination now known as Blade, Baiheng doesn't get resurrected as herself but instead turns into a Vidyahara now known as Bailu and she also absorbs some significant portion of Dan Feng's power. I'm not clear on the exact timeline but some time later, Dan Feng names Bailu as his successor for High Elder, and he is imprisoned and forced to reincarnate into who we now know as Dan Heng. Jing Yuan somehow manages to get his sentence lowered to exile and later he gets picked up by the Astral Express.

If u look at the Black Swan Acheron dancing in and in the background there is actually a serpent and a SWAN , the Swan is getting eating up by the serpent (yk Black SWAN and SWAN the animal) i think its kinda cool , and the most interesting thing here is that there are two violins playing in the start of the dance but one violin is overtaking the other (Black Swan in control of the dance ) and then when Acheron starts to reveal who she is as Black Swan look deeper the other violin suddenly overtakes and starts to get louder and louder
The dragon and lion play thing, I'm pretty sure the dragon is symbolic of The imbibator Lunae (dan heng) and the Lion is symbolic of Jing yuan(General). Right? Since like Jing yuan is pretty symbolic with a lion, his ult panel literally has a lion surrounding him. Also like they do fight together multiple times.
Looking back at firefly's trailer here makes me tear up everytime. This is why I have E2S1 and why i spent my birthday money on her. She was my favourite character in the story and the only hsr character I have whaled on. Life begets death!

There's a debate among scientists what happens about Information trapped into a Black Hole. HSR tackes the route of full Nihility aka nothing can escape a Black Hole and destroys everything (its also the form of the Path's Aeon ^^) This is especially spicy for Black Swan since she represents the Remembrance Path(A Memo Keeper, hence why she can slip into memories and dreams), which could be argued to be the Antithesis of Nihility. At the end of that Hunting scene you can see her getting sucked in and dissolved by the Black Hole in Acheron and can barely escape with fragments of her, thats why she's so exhausted in the next scene. And yeah its basically Acheron tearing BS apart and BS rebuilding herself frantically trying to escape.
Yeah, the whole thing with Dan Heng fighting that other guy- that other guy is called Dan Feng. Dan Feng is this dragon guy who commited this crime and his punishment was to be reincarnated into a new person because i guess thats what these dragons do? Yeah so the person he reincarnated into is Dan Heng himself. And after reincarnating, Dan Heng got locked up for a while then he got kicked off the xianzhou for Dan Feng's crimes. Basically, Dan Heng wants to live his own life and not be tied down by his past reincarnation's crimes.
Acheron did not attempt to escape culpability when she asked Black Swan who the Annihilation Gang are She actually forgot about them because they were THAT insignificant under her blade (she did remember Duke Inferno though.)

The friendship between Guin and Sushang is kinda sad, in a way. Sushang will live for centuries, possibly even thousands of years if she can stave off the mara that long; she's basically a teenager by her species' standards, but she's already at least one hundred years old. But Guin is just a normal human and she'll grow old, wither and die faster than Sushang can even process what's happening. It's kinda sad. I hope Sushang is still taking care of Guin when Guin is an old lady.
If only hoyoverse start to join anime business, they'll easily standing amongst the Big anime company with their animation style. The way hoyoverse mixed 2D and 3D is beyond experts. Proven on Hi3rd, Genshin, HiStarRail, and now ZZZ.

The "fish" you keep mentioning in Sparkle's trailer is a real life Red Herring. *She* is a red herring, and the fish is just another symbolism to it.
