    Hey Greg im on your greek god program its going great i added 15 lbs on my incline Bench in 4 weeks but i cant progress on the standing Press. Im actually starting to regress. What do i do?

    • @reidpeterson16
      @reidpeterson16 Рік тому +8

      Standing press is brutal. Takes a ton of core strength as you go up in weight. Switch to dumbbells or consider focusing on form (slower eccentrics) and get really comfortable with the movement. High risk of injury on that one too. Greg’s advice is great but when he says “just get stronger”…. It’s much easier said than done.

      Do the Standing Press first. I believe in the GGP he has you do Incline first then OHP. If you switch it up and hit the Standing Press fresh, you’ll start progressing. If you’re still stalling, then switch it out with another vertical press via Seated Barbell Shoulder Press or the regular DB Shoulder Press.

    Bull crap people , I don't see anything special about this guy my newbie gains and phy·sique make him look dumb, heavier weights only make you stronger , size and strength go together , but strength does not mean size , you can go up in strength but not gain any size success can adapt and the brain can learn to utilize the mucles better, do your research before you come for me ... I'm just a messenger sharing my experience and learnings on my way to this point hope it helps 8‐12 ish it's not a science becouse we're not 100% the same

    Does he think doing 45s is impressive for OHP? Dude, 100s aren’t even impressive when you sit in the chair to do them like an idjut. Stand up or keep your back of the pad and let your scapula articulate, DUH. 100s are the beginning of starting to impress. IF you’re standing.

    That is bs. Progressive overload is result of gaining muscle so saying you need to do progressive overload to gain muscle doesn't help at all.

      Idk men if progressive overload is the Key bodybuilders would do powerlifting

    • @edmuquit5134
      @edmuquit5134 Рік тому +1

      People forget that progressive overload isn't simply just a gain in strength. An increase in reps, sets, volume, or strength will result in muscle tissue damage which will lead to growth. Its just in my opinion that increasing strength is the most efficient way(of progressive overload) to increase size/strength for most lifters.

    • @edmuquit5134
      @edmuquit5134 Рік тому

      @@goncalopereira8267 For instance if you're a very advanced lifter that has maxed most his strength gains to keep adding strength for size is unreasonable. You have to look into the other factors of progressive overload. And honestly it doesn't even have to be an advanced lifter anybody can use the other forms of progressive overload if they please.
