The Cobalt Turquoise used to be single pigment. In an older review with this paint it was a single pigment pb28. I wonder when the change happened? 🤔
Not sure but if it isn’t a single pigment I don’t see how it belongs in this set.
You definitely picked up on the same point Leslie Stoltz did concerning these paints. She said she would have to paint differently with them and seemed to have a more negative view of them. I have three of these sets and didn’t really notice but then I don’t do a lot of glazing either. I watch quite a few videos before choosing them and people seemed to enjoy them . Interesting for sure.
I think they could be use to create some beautiful art, for sure. However if the artists likes to glaze colors in subsequent layers I definitely saw the potential for these to possibly be problematic. I will have to look up Leslie’s video. Thanks for sharing that info, I haven’t seen it.
Glad I checked this review first before jumping in the water. Do they feel chalky?
No they do not feel chalky. They rewet very easily both in the pan and on the page though.
I'm sorry I'm so late to this video as you know I'm new to your channel. I have been considering the Rosa gallery paints for quite a while. However, I have a very rare blood disorder called polycythemia secondary. What it is is that my body produces so many red blood cells that it's choking out the oxygen in my bloodstream. A main component of it is any contact whatsoever with cadmium. It can be changed through my skin I can inhale it I can eat it in certain foods that we need at my age are grown in calcium rich soils sadly. So I have to do a lot of blood donation and things to keep it under control. So for me if I do choose to buy paints from them I will most definitely donate my cadmium paints to someone else or to a school because it's so dangerous for me to have any contact with them. This is an exceptionally rare disorder that does not affect 99.9% of the public.
Wow, so it is very important for you to know what is in your paint!
@@ClarkFineArt yes, sadly it is. I use cadmiums when I painted in oils. Play discovered my blood disorder 2 years ago, but they finally were able to put a name to it this year and figure out that I have to donate blood in order to keep it contained so that I can breathe.
@@ArtandDiamondsWithEskies Sorry to hear that, but it is good that they figured it out.
I start with yellow and with the dark colors. I have this palette but I really don’t enjoy them.🦋💕
I’m still not sure how I feel about them.
Amazon lists the cobalt turquoise as PB 28 is it something different in this set?
Yes the Rosa packaging and sticker on the pan I received in my set says Cobalt Turquoise is PB28, PB36 which makes it a multi pigment color not a mono pigment like what I expected to receive.
@@ClarkFineArt Thanks! Good to know. It definitely messes with the mono pigment name.
@@stas61690 it sure does!
I was looking hard at Rosa. I think I will stay with my Winsor and Daniel. Lol I was always taught buy cheap get cheap
I received my MEEDEN watercolor kit yesterday. I put the paints in square palette to dry.
You definitely can't go wrong with your Winsor and Newton or Daniel Smith. My colors from the Curated Collection dried down perfectly. I am loving mixing in the lid. I can't wait to use these more next week. I will be using them during the live stream on Thursday!
Pretty intense colors
It looks like it will be a great collection of colors in the palette.
Is it measured by weight and not volume?
Not sure but In my own experience filling half pans, I can fill them all to the top and some pigments will dry and shrink down more than others.
I think I will pass on this Palette.
With the new palettes you have gotten lately, I can definitely understand that.
