My dad bought two old timers (stockman) in 69. Finally gave to my grandson and daughter. Always razor sharp. I now own a three blade buck, their version of the OT stockman. It's a great knife. A man who can't keep a razor sharp pocket knife is not a man or an idiot, or who doesn't understand the pocket knife rules. If you don't know what pocket knife rules are then you should ask some old guys.
@@bustinout I saw your Boker video. It was the first video I saw of yours. It’s funny, I had a friend share your video to me because he knows how much I like trappers.
Thats a pretty little Old Timer. One of my favorite brands. I hear people mean mouth OT's but i like all of mine. They are all 20yrs old or more except for two of them and they take and hold an edge under reasonable use. One is a Yellow Boy trapper and the other a gut hook folder. I like 'em.
Schrade/Old Timer USA has the best carbon steel of any knife made in America. Sadly they are now made over seas and Schrade is gone. If you find them on the used market they are reasonable to buy and the blades are easy to keep razor sharp. I have carried an Old Timer in my pocket for many years. Good job on this one D!
Just subbed! I found an old carborundum pocket stone with the original leather pocket sheath at a Black powder rondivous in Oregon about ten years ago for a dollar. When I lived in the U.S. it works fantastic for touching up my blades in field. Big fan of Case knives for over fifty years. Like the channel! ATB Sam from Vietnam
So, even though you do not know how old or where this sharpening stone was purchased from, what is the best sharpening stone. What are the dimensions of a good stone? What is the stone made of? Thanks
Precisely! So Arkansas stones are very good stones that I would recommend and a good size is the 6inch x 2 inch stones. that is roughly the size of my brown stone. The Soft/Hard Arkansas Combination Stone is made with a high content of microcrystalline quartz.
Hey brother! Love the channel keep up doin what your doin. Can you do another knife sharpening video but instead of using the buffer wheel will you show doing it with a strop?
I had an Old Timer years ago. I don’t know what happened to it but I miss it.
Another great video!
