Great video brother! The Knife Doctor was right, you have a great channel. I used your razor blade technique on an old Ulster last night. I also made a really thin bladed knife with a square tip that is working well too. Thanks for the great idea!
@@reggieheidelberg2363 I am glad that helped! I am still learning new things as well, and experimenting with new things. Share your own tips & tricks too!

WOW! That knife turned out wonderfully! I really love your channel. I learn so much from you. You have such a precision approach to knife restoration. Plus now I find out you are a fellow preacher! May our Lord greatly bless you my brother!
Preacher you are really good at this. You're a good teacher as well. Great video. I look forward to watching your videos. Thank you kindly for sharing your knowledge.
That turned out beautiful! I really like the G10 at both ends of the scales. i’ve looked several times at the antlers selection in Petsmart and considered buying some now I think I will. Have a blessed day!
@@dennispedicone5125 Thank you! I appreciate the sentiment, but I can name half a dozen people that I know who are far more experienced and better at this than I am, and I know that there are many, many more whom I do not know. Still, I appreciate the kind words!
I just ran across your channel. And now I'm a new subscriber. 👍 Have you ever noticed how man made antler looks fake? I believe it's because God has the original design.

@@jth56 thank you! I do most of my sanding with a 400-grit belt. I move to a 220 grit on occasion, and keep a couple of 80 grit for really aggressive material removal. I used to keep higher grits, but found that I can go from 400 straight to the polishing wheel.

Hey Scott, I think that the 8ot is the best stockman that Schrade came out with. I really love it. You have made a very nice looking knife out of a good knife. I love the way you show how to go thru the processes to get the outcome that you want. The covers came out great and I would be proud to carry that knife around. What is the long pin material that you use for your pins and where can I get them? Do you sell your knives or are they just for your personal collection? Thanks you for any help you can give me - later
@@This_Old_Man_68 Great question! Hardwoods are probably the most durable, as they are more pliable. Antler would be a close second, then bone. Bone can make some of the prettiest handles to me, but it does crack easily.

Do you have a method for repairing hairline cracks on bone handles. If so I would be interested in seeing it.

Sometimes I can find brass pins at Ace Hardware and Hobby Lobby.
Scott in your opinion what would you consider the most durable of natural handle materials. Cattle bone, deer stag or hardwood like hickory or walnut?
