That is some beautiful work! My 93 year old dad just gave my son an old timer he bought in the 70s. It’s not in too bad of shape but wants to find someone to make it like new! What talent you have! So meticulous…just love it!
OMG, it's too funny! I had to show my wife the clip about using kitchen dishes. You're not the only one busted, my friend! She immediately started rummaging through my stuff, ranting, "What's with you guys!" BTW, nice work 👍
Thanks for sharing! The best part of this was when she was watching the video during editing and she saw that I had also used the white porcelain serving bowl for quenching the knife blades!! I am lucky I used canola oil this time instead of my usual choice of used motor oil. 🤙 🍻
Beautiful restoration. I've always loved how effective the method is which you used to remove the copper patina. I also just ordered some firebricks so that I can do heat treating myself, looking forward to it
Very impressive my friend I work on pocket knives as well very impressive work never seen any of your videos yours just popped up on the first few great job look forward to watching more
Hey thanks! This is the second knife project for which I've made a video and I really enjoy it. I will certainly be on the lookout for more projects like this for future content. Appreciate the comment. Cheers! 🍻
@@Restorology well keep up the good work my friend but one thing I should let you know that charade knife originally had a high polished blade and never had a blued blade but I still love the design regardless
@@tristanbarnett6271 Thanks for the info. The dude I fixed it for specifically asked for a blued blade. If it were mine I'd have polished and maybe nickel plated it for protection but he really wanted it blued. Now that it is done, I have to agree that it looks good.
Nice job. To heck pinned construction knives, screwed construction or get out for me. This one looks well loved and has sentimental value though, so that's cool :D
Thanks. This one is a classic for sure. I am neutral on the pin vs. screw matter but I did just have the screw on my favorite carrying knife back out and now the blade is loose. Easy fix but annoying. Thanks for the comment! 🍻

It looks great and you did a wonderful job restoring it as well!!!! Almost looks new again Enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up for support I also subscribed to your channel
Thank you! I actually thought about that but the plastic weld material would not stick to the brass. I tried sticking it to a few different metals just to see and it did not adhere tightly. Also, without being able to color adjust it after application, it would have looked off color compared to the handle at that spot. Thanks for asking the question!
Frieden! 🍻 🤙
I hope not. I looked at several photos before assembling and this looked correct but you are right, the nail nick on the skinning blade is hidden when both are closed. Actually, it is hidden behind the middle brass liner even when the main blade is open. I'll check photos online again and correct it if it is wrong. Thanks for the comment! 🍻
@@RBG-tr9ce After I read your comment I did a more extensive search and found pics showing it both ways, BUT the most common way is how you described. You were spot on. I told the dude who owns it and he said it is fine the way it is but I told him that I will swap the blades. Won't take but a few minutes to do it. Thanks again for pointing out my mistake!! 🤙
I have the same knife, it's in good shape but I want to relieve the spring tension on the blades. Your vid is a priceless aid!
Glad to hear it. Good luck and thanks for the nice feedback. 🍻

Классный нож! Первый раз вижу, чтобы таких два клинка в одном ноже!
Спасибо! Много лет назад это был классический нож. Жаль, что я поставил передние и задние ножи наоборот!
Well done!
Thank you!
Original when possible, it is incredible the patience an skill you show making the useless useful again
Thank you very much! I agree, original when possible. Cheers! 🍻

Love how blokes think that stuff in the kitchen isn't actually used for anything, it's simply there until they want it for something non-food-related…

Nicely done.😊

What can I say? Perfection as always.

Lovely restoration/repair. Why didn't you use the plastic filler for the gap in the replacement handle?

Era um monte de lixo mesmo. Belo trabalho.
Obrigado! Acho que ficou bom.
What would happen if you nickel plated on top of a blued blade?
Excellent question. I will try it and post the result on my community page!! Stay tuned!
Those 'handle pieces' that you referred to are actually called scales (plural) or a scale (singular).
Hi. I know that but it does not translate well in captions for my international audience. Thanks for letting me know though. 🤙 🍻
I believe you got the blades on wrong. The main blade should go on first, now its covering the nail nick of the second blade.
I hope not. I looked at several photos before assembling and this looked correct but you are right, the nail nick on the skinning blade is hidden when both are closed.
