I believe scripture is above feelings and even experiences. I went to New Orleans many years ago and was walking around the French Quarter. I was with two co-workers who then didn’t profess Jesus as their Savior. We were having a great time shopping and talking. Suddenly, I felt something eerie. It scared me. I turned to look at my friends, and they both wore horrified expressions. We all felt like something wasn’t right. I looked to my right, and we were standing in front of a voodoo shop. My friends and I were so freaked out that we decided to go back to our hotel immediately. I don’t know why this happened; perhaps God was warning me to avoid this store. But if I always sensed evil wherever it is, I would likely feel it every day and place that I go.
The most biblically sound teaching and answer. He answered the question and exalted Christ as the Holy Spirit does. Very Spirit filled answer. Spirit always points us back to His Word. Thank You for your faithfulness Lord and for a faithful servant brother Todd.
i saw him do a blood ritual rather than a wine. he has demons attached to him it seems to me. many do. his ministry is a warning to the Spirit of God in me.
The short answer is YES, it's called Dicernment... How did these people know this, and some are OT before the Holy Ghost and the dicernment that comes with it. 1 Samuel 16:15 [15]And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. 1 Kings 22:23 [23]Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee. 2 Chronicles 33:6 [6]And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. Ecclesiastes 8:5 [5]Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. (Whats that...Feel!) Hmmm. Matthew 10:1 [1]And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. ... HOW DID THEY KNOW who to cast devils out of? How did paul know the girl cast the devil out of had a devil?
None of the scripture you've provided shows anyone sensing an evil spirit or Daemon. Especially Ecclesiastes 8:5 as those verses are talking about obeying authority given by God. Whenever Christ went anywhere, anyone with a spirit, which he obviously noticed (he's Jesus) but they are the ones who either cried out or threw the possessed person into a fit. Whenever people become aware of spirits it's because they are causing someone to behave unusually. That's abundantly clear in scripture. I don't get how Todd is blaspheming the Holy Spirit here because scripture is silent on anyone ever sensing evils until they have possessed or influenced them.
10to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
I would say we can discern what is if our surroundings are good or evil based on the Bible.. We may not know exactly what is the problem . We just know something is not right.
When I was young, many years before I was saved, I used to encounter people and immediately had a sense that there was something was off about these people and my instincts were correct. The same thing used to happen in a good way and my instincts were also correct. I wouldn't describe these experiences as feelings, more like a 6th sense.
I agree that the most sound position is that the Bible is silent for the purpose of teaching it as doctrine. Can’t say its doctrine. Not enough evidence. However, the question brings to mind Paul and the sooth-saying demon in the girl that was following Paul and proclaiming that the men were servants of the most high God who were themselves proclaiming a/the way of salvation. By content, the spirit’s statement sounds generally correct (depends on whether the spirit was saying “the” way or “a” way). But Paul knew it was a demon and it annoyed or grieved Paul and he finally cast the demon out. Somehow Paul knew it to be a demon speaking. Was it because the girl was previously known to be an oracle? Or because Paul sensed the demon? The latter seems possible or even likely to me. Even if Paul knew the girl to be a sooth sayer first, he still had to know somehow that she was possessed as opposed to simply being a fraud or crazy.
One absolutely can sense the presence of evil and to suggest less to me negates the fact that the Holy Spirit is alive. I’m not talking about discernment. I’m talking about hair on the back of your neck standing. And anyone who has sensed it knows exactly what I’m talking about. We aren’t to rely on feelings but to act like feelings aren’t at times strong indicators, or even at times a result of the Holy Spirit Himself, is naive and denies the way the Lord designed us.
Yes, we can. I once worked for my landlord cleaning his buildings. Once I was cleaning one of his apartments that became vacant. I felt something not of God. It was something dark. I later learned someone was murdered in that apartment by a gun. In another vacant apartment I was cleaning had the same feeling. I later learned a tenant once blew his brain out.
I stepped into a hospital wing (prison) once and saw an inmate down the corridor. He looked at me. I looked at him. I knew I had to get out of that place. I can't explain it. (could be I was bullied at school and it triggered a (school?) 'corridor' memory. I went back later, it was all OK.
mr Wreched i thank yous that you do not delete Comments i sough the lord when you were talking at 6 :25...The Lord wants Your Heart...Not yr Head....isent it Great that He is Thinking of you yes he The High & Lofty One
No!!!!!! That idea comes from the devil. That’s vain imaginations from false teachers that entertain “satan disguising himself as an Angel of light”. This is what so many people believe but it’s 1000% false. Back in the biblical days when angels appeared there were real humans standing in a real place and a real Angel appeared it wasn’t any of this mystical nonsense and thinking the spirit realm is an extra dimension like on Star Trek. People have gone crazy with their imaginations these days. Stay biblical🙏🏼❤️👑
Don’t fill in the blanks with imaginations and remember satan disguises himself as an angel of light. There’s no description of anyone “seeing” in a spirit realm for instance we don’t look at a person standing in front of us and see some demonic spirit in their body….people have taken their imaginations and gone crazy. Remember that Peter discerned the divination spirit by using his 5 senses…he didn’t have some extra added sensory mechanism like something on Star Trek. Jesus felt power leave him but we aren’t Jesus. We are super human beings…this is part of deception and people doing all of the strange things happening in churches. God bless❤️🙏🏼
I'm not into such divination. My discernment kicked in when some demon-influenced person initiated unprovoked combat; he was subsequently rebuked and resisted. TL;DR, a demoniac sorcerer singles out a believer.
My fellow Americans, if you KNOW what the Holy Spirit feels like- a gentle and warm light, then you will be able to sense other spirits around, especially when there are large concentrations on non-Christian communities that you enter. You can even see the mannerisms of certain cultures have those spirits upon them, and if they become Christian, their appearance changes. Since we live in secular cities, many of us have secular spirits that surround us. I have noticed a difference in atmosphere in different localities and each has a distinct feel-spirit of poverty, Islam, Occult, Hindu etc........ Are they bad or Good? They're not Christian. You decide.
Are you comparing and contrasting the Holy Spirit, 3rd Person of the Trinity, with "evil spirits?" You should be comparing angels and demons. Do you think that maybe Christ "felt" the presence of satan in the wilderness and the angels ministering to Him in Gethsemane? I'm pretty sure Paul "felt" his thorn in the flesh. Most scholars believe it involved an evil spirit. I understand where you are coming from, you don't want Christians over spiritualizing everything. But, you also need to be careful how you are influencing fellow believers. You claim to take everything from Scripture alone, but I think you still pick and choose what match your "feelings" on a topic
Watch it again and perhaps ask the Lord for understanding. He is correct. There are no scriptures that say we can "feel" evil spirits. He is NOT talking about the gift of discernment which is from the Holy Spirit.
So far I haven't read anywhere in the Bible where God says or gives credit to this being which is not mentioned in the Bible. Lucifer is an invention and means light bringer, not a being. The whole passage was a proverb to the King of Babylon who God was going to lay low. It was not a mighty rebellious evil being who stood in front of God defying him. Where does it say that? You can't use Revelation because Jesus is giving a prophecy about the nations, his enemies, and not wicked angelic beings. Here is how to determine a wicked spirit. One day I turned down a sexual invite from a pretty girl and her boyfriend. This angered her and she set about to get vengeance on me. The setting was an AA meeting I attended. There are a lot of wicked people there who make God in their own image. This woman began to gossip and slander me and isolate me from any friends I had and if I attempted to talk to a woman she would be sitting next to that woman, and I had no idea what she was saying to her but I knew it wasn't good. One thing she said was that I was a homosexual and one meeting all the homosexuals were smiling at me. Wicked spirit? She was an is. Is she possessed or just wicked? Well, she won the battle after two years and I had no more friends. She had convinced everyone at the meeting that I was this or that, can't say exactly but it had to do with my so-called sexual self. It got to the point that they could not contain themselves and one day I made a pretty young lady laugh at the meeting and they spoke up and started calling me a 'thirteen Stepper' which is a predator in AA jargon. This was done publicly to the thirty people there. It's not possible to prove your innocence since there are no witnesses to prove or disprove what I do sexually. I finally had to leave them for their evil ways. There are demonic or adversarial people among us. Stop looking for lucifer, stop looking for demons under your bed, they are humans looking to hurt you because they see something they can't have.
No, sorry, but the notion that Satan was a metaphor is a false narrative. Satan a factually real and historic person was a named angel in scripture who rebelled against God. The same Satan who met Jesus on the temple mount in order to tempt the Messiah. However, you have a point; I have had plenty of experience with demoniac sorcerers being obsessed and consumed with enmity, filled with a murderous unregenerate spirit. I didn't need to spend much time seeking discernment when those interactions included combat (on multiple occasions)
@@joshuacorbin221 Ok! I've been mislead. Show me where this Satan is mentioned and described by any of the prophets. You can't use Revelation because those are metaphors, similes, etc. to describe entities such governments which relate to us the actual events surrounding the Pagan Roman Empire, the Papal Empire, the Saracens and the Ottomans. The Serpent in Rev 12 is shown having cast Judah to the earth from heaven or power and is not a being but the Roman Government. You can't use Isaiah 14 because that is a proverb to the king of Babylon. Now show me where this super duper angel who sat at God's thrown is described. You can't use "as a roaring lion" because that is describing false preachers and perverts sneaking into the church to chase and seduce women away from Christ, see Jude. Now show me!
Discernment is a gift from the Holy Spirit. He is NOT talking about the gift of discernment which is from the Holy Spirit. He is talking about "feelings", emotions. If we as Christians felt every evil spirit around us we would never be able to rest. Watch it again and perhaps ask the Lord for understanding. He is correct. There are no scriptures that say we can "feel" evil spirits.
To be in wonder of a gift and think critically about nomenclature and practice is not the same as denying the giver of such gifts. It is because we believe that we so strongly urge critical thought in order to reject heresy, wherever it may appear.
God Bless you Todd
