Who are we:
Scandinavians Arne Nerjordet and Carlos Zachrison are highly regarded designers, textile artists and authors. They are best known for their craft books and their original, colourful and visually striking designs. Their work is highly influenced by their Scandinavian background and their everyday life in rural Norway. They work under their artist name ARNE & CARLOS, which they established in 2002.

I have been knitting and crocheting for over 50 years and I am still learning about my craft. I think that is why I still love it so much. It was so fun hearing about your year and what you're looking forward to! I started knitting Christmas Balls this years, and by golly they are LIFE-SAVING!! I gave a friend a set of Christmas Balls. He was happy to get them because his tree fell over while he was decorating and many of his ornaments were shattered. I told him that he can knock his tree over all he wants and the the Christmas Balls won't brake...lol. They are so fun and quick to make!! Merry Christmas!!

Outdoor videos would be great: and it would be interesting to see how Norway's wool "industry" works from visiting farms, to learning the processing of the wool perhaps from sheep to the sale shelf, learning about different breeds of sheep and the characteristics of their wool... and Arne,, yes, visiting interesting areas in Norway, perhaps some prehistoric sites with perhaps some fabric and/or wool production thrown in (if it is known) as it was in prehistory... And a visit to Arne's family farm would be terrific.

I agree about the snow shoveling. It is nice to go out after a fresh snow.
I waited until Christmas Eve to listen to this podcast.... The tree is decorated, presents all wrapped, and Santa just left with toys for my granddaughter.... WOW Arne and Carlos!!! WHAT an incredible honor to have been asked to knit Christmas balls for the Embassy! I couldn't think of anyone better then you both to do so! The tree looked absolutely beautiful! I was knitting as I was watching! I am making bears that I will donate to sick children. I knit/crochet and donate items I make to several Facebook sites.

Congratulations on your commission to decorate a tree at the embassy. I hope you will show us what the tree looks like when it's decorated. I really love your Christmas ornaments. I keep forgetting to tell you that I love your jackets. I love the design, the colors, and those closures. I loved this video about your year. 2018 was a horrible year for our family. I am really looking forward to a new year. I really love hearing about what you've done in your year and what is to come. I so wish that I could do one of your cruises. I have only been out of the U.S. 5 times in my life. I have been to Canada 3 times, to Barbados and to Bermuda. It has always been my dream to see Norway. As I have said before, I read an autobiography written by a Norwegian woman that was all about what Norway was like while she was growing up. I loved the stories about the traditions in Norway, the holidays and just everyday life growing up in the mountains. I don't remember the details, but I have always held on to the way I felt reading that book, that Norway was kind of magical and the traditions were things that spoke to my heart. I'm a real mutt, French Canadian, Dutch, English, Irish and Native American, but for some reason Norway calls to me.

What fun! I so enjoyed this video, it is the perfect thing to watch as I try to finish knitting up one last gift. I would love to see Arne's Abba scarf, that sounds amazing! I hope you both have a very merry Christmas. I'm so happy I discovered your channel, because I now really enjoy knitting thanks to your tutorials. I was able to knit my four children mittens this year and in 2019 I'm planning to learn to make socks and to try some colorwork for the first time! Loved hearing about your year and I so enjoyed your techniques and all your wonderful travel experiences. You are an inspiration to all of us will enjoy the art of knitting and crocheting, plus all your other endeavors. Thank you for allowing us to share your moments of the past year. I look forward to the next year of interesting subject matter, locations and events.
Such a wonderful message and enjoyable visit with you as you recap your year. The beautiful colours and designs for the embassy are truly stunning. Our family has a new tradition this year to keep the stress and rush at a minimum. We start celebrating on the solstice and extend over 7 days until we have experienced all of the traditional activities of food preparation and family meals and gift exchanges and quiet time and outdoor time and self indulgent time. Taking the time to be together at a pace and a time and place for all of it not only enhances our enjoyment but also drastically reduces the busyness and allows for mindfulness of our celebration. Like you said so wisely, Arne, Christmas will come next year. Well we have found a way to make Christmas come everyday until you feel like it’s time to be done and move on to the exciting new of the next year.
And Tim and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary as you celebrate your milestone birthday, Carlos!

I'm not sure if you mentioned another milestone for you this year as feature designers in the Knit Stars 3.0 series. Your segment and modules were so delightful, and I've been practicing my floats in preparation for your mitten pattern. I've got your yarn, and pattern, now I just need to relax my floats.
The idea for videos of your beloved country would be fantastic. The other ideas of trade show interviews, and flea market trips would be fun as well. Whatever you decide to share with us will surely be fascinating, motivating, encouraging and entertaining.

Love those knitted balls. I could never do that! I'm making some, but they'll be about half that size, and cut from wool-like plaid fabric. Those balls must be a trend right now.
