Splatoon uses kitchen appliances as modes of transport too often. Remember that kettles are used in most campaigns. Hence Cuttlefish might just assume it’s octo tech.
This is exactly why I didn't question the blender on my first playthrough until Marina started freaking out about it. We've used kettles and coffee machines for transportation before so I just thought they were keeping with the theme and it was, like, a teleporter or something.
I was like "Ah yes, blender-shaped teleporter. It must be similar to kettle-shaped teleporter." Wait a minute why was 8 scared of a blender. They can just go through the blades in swim form.
@@gameboy3d943even before 3, they had parts of espresso machines! The idea was to "press" a squid's soul into a physical form, like compressing coffee grounds into espresso.
honestly about the blender thing, since octarians use tea kettles to access their domes, in universe it probably wouldn't be far fetched for agent 8 and cuttlefish to think the blender could transport them to the surface. Thats what i thought when i played octo expansion for the first time

@@sonicrunn3r895 the old rapid was still a (while lousy) toy gun reference. Although I think it was referencing airsoft instead of nerf in S1 & S2. An orange tipped barrel is a feature all toy guns share but the notches in the S3 barrel leans towards the nerf side of the reference.
For 6:16, when I first played OE, I had kinda low expectations, & I didn’t fully piece together what the Four Thangs were until it was assembled. The moment I saw this video go up, I went to Alterna because I thought "Didn't a level like this one appear in Return of the Mammalians?" Yep. "Amusing a Bemused Muse". And funnily enough, there are two weapons in the S3 level that are the exact same as Matchmaster Station: the Squeezer and the Splat Charger. Sadly the Rapid Blaster Pro didn't make the cut, but Sloshing Machine took its' place. Why Sloshing Machine? I have no idea.

Nintendo finally kicks up the difficulty level, so it was nice to face something that was actually hard for once. A lot of players have been playing the games for a long time, where they became mechanically skilled and don't find any of the other levels hard. Here I am, wishing they would've made it EVEN harder because it only took me half an hour to beat the level, and I think there shouldn't be checkpoints.

6:36 cuttlefish is too old to know what a blender is, or just thinks it’s some odd type of octotech. Then 8 lost their memory because of sanitization (partial or something I forget the specifics, refer to literally 8’s entire character arc and character customization screen) As for pearl and marina, idk how they even know what 8 is looking at, but maybe marina never analyzed the parts when 8 had them all in one place? That’s probably the hardest part to handwaive away

the reason why people hate these stages so much is because everyone chooses the most difficult weapon for it then blame the stage for them failing 50 times there was a squeezer and charger right there squeezer is easy and just tap shoot with charger but no everyone goes with rapid then complains about the stage being too hard
