Bowlys have u tried the 150mm squid for sight casting barra, it can be an option. having said that my go to is the 5" zman paddle tails in the opening night color. nice sesh mate.
Have a look at Redemption Tackle (WA) at their Squid lures, better than most if you can get them. The 3 1/2" will be available at the end of March hopefully. They'd be ideal in this situation.

No I haven’t mate but I’ll be trying a lot of funky lures like that for Barra in the dam over summer for sure!

Hey mate, I’d be looking at around a 10-20lb rod with a reel to match, 30lb braid and 50lb - 100lb leader.
