I finished hooking up my furrion backup camera. It said camera ready but it is not. When I took the cap off the back there was a loop stuck in the cap. Don’t yank or pull the wires. They are hooked up to the clearance lights. Cut the loop. Take both white wires and the black wire (from the wire they give you that has a female plug on the end) and twist them together. Do the same with the green and white wires and twist the red wire together. Cap both ends. With your monitor plugged into the lighter on your tow vehicle, start the vehicle and turn on your lights. Not to the auto but to the park lights. It should come on so you can adjust the camera to what you want to see. I hope this helps.
So guys, I figured it out, if your back up camera cables look different, or if your camera doesnt seem to turn on, try connecting your tow vehicle to the 7 pin connector and turning on the lights on the tow vehicle, I did this with my set up, and it worked
Added the Furrion to my 2020 keystone Cougar and the side cameras also. Was so simple! Mine was basically just a plug in job, even simpler than shown here!
I have a GMC sierra with a rear trailer camera integration to my truck display. The camera wire plugs into the back of the truck next to the 7 pin port. So, I don't need a camera that comes with it's own display. Any recommendations? I have a 2023 Passport 2704RK
I need help. I’ve tried to instal and nothing works. I checked camera wire and camera on other power source. Everything works. I had RV camping World in concord Nc look at it and say everything is good. I tried again and still nothing. I’m desperate for help. I spent 4 days trying to get it. I’m a happy owner of new 2023 rv but can’t seem to get camera backup to work at all
Good morning, we would be more than willing to look into this further with you to see how we may be of assistance. Please do contact our retail customer service team at 866-425-4369 when you are able to! Thank you!
Hello I have a 2021 cougar 30RLS. I don’t have the sticker or access clip, but I was told by my dealer to remove the center clearance light and my wiring is there. So the camera would mount where the center clearance light is?
Good afternoon, the wiring would tie in to the running lights up top in the rear, the green wire being the power supply wire. In regards to where to install, if you aren't comfortable finding where to install yourself, we'd recommend contacting a dealership for assistance, as to ensure if there are any leaks or issues following the aftermarket install you are covered. Thank you.
I have a 2021 Arcadia. When I pull off the cap off the back of the camper I find a looped (white and white/green) duplex wire, not a single ended duplex wire (white and white/green). I tugged on both sides of the loop expecting that one would shake loose to expose one end with wire caps on it. I even ran a bore camera up into the wall to see what it was hung up on. What I found was one one wire coming from a running light and the other end going to a connector with additional wires connected. I was expecting that connector to be the wire cap that be my connection point. At this point it looks like my option is to splice into the loop rather than continue looking for a single end duplex wire.
2022 Hideout here. I also found just a looped white/green cable and couldn't pull out either end. Still have no idea how to wire it because the in the video they clearly show it has an end.
@Cadence Hendrickson We discovered that I wired it correctly (splitting the green/white white and splicing the camera onto it), the problem was we needed to turn on the daytime running lights on our truck to make the power work
Mine is a 2022 22MLS and when pulling the cap off it also only had the loop, tried pulling and one end (green) came off of whatever it was connected (the white was still connected to two wires) to on the inside. It is ridiculous that this video gets posted by Keystone and they don’t mention this at all. Now I can’t even get the wires tucked back in to the hole (no nice black plastic hole edge cover like on the video either). Very frustrating…
We are sorry for the delay in our response. We just noticed we didn't show that example in our video, so thank you for bringing this to our attention. This is normal, the wire is looped so you would need to make sure the 7way is unplugged from the tow vehicle so no power is applied to those wires. Cut the wires and with the camera wires connect all positives together and all negatives together. Hope that helps!
Keystone folks. I have a brand new 2022 Passport and am attempting to install the Yakry wireless camera system following the wire connection instructions per this video, but with no luck so far. Is the power running to the pre-wired camera wires without doing something else? Any tricks you can suggest?
Good morning, there is no trick or anything like that. The prep is ran from the 7-way and tied in to the running light power supply wires. If you need technical assistance (outside of the instructions on this video), please do not hesitate to contact our retail team at 1-866-425-4369. Thank you.
Good Morning! If the wiring is a loop you will splice into the loop to connect your camera. If you have any questions on this please contact our customer care team at 866-425-4369. Thank you!
I've never Heard of the green wire being the positive and the white wire being negative, well, at least here in California green wire is always ground White wire is neutral.
Good morning, we are so sorry for the delay. Yes, you'll need to put two more holes in the wall. There are only 2 screws attaching the wire cap to the wall. The back up camera we used did take 4 screws to secure it. We hope this helps. Thank you.
My keystone seems to have four wires, one black and red that’s in a four hole connection ready receiver and one white and the other one green. The camera I’m installing has a ready plug in male I guess you can call it that but it only has one , what should I do
Good morning, after review, we are not sure what the red and black wires you are referring to are associated with. However, we would recommend the power supply for the back up camera be tied in to the green and white wires. The green wire is the power supply wire for the back up camera and running lights. If you need more information, it'd be best to contact our retail team with your VIN specifically either via email to ownerrelations@keystonerv.com or through our call center at 1-866-425-4369. Thank you.
Well, looks like you've done half the video. Where do the wires from the camera lead? Where do they come out so that you can attach them to the monitor inside the cab of your tow vehicle? Is there another video for that?
Good morning, could you specify your question for us? We do outline the videos in the attached video so we just want to clarify your inquiry before answering. Thank you.
I'm about to install a furrion system on my camera ready Alpine. I pulled off the dummy plug where the rear camera mounts and there is a red/white loop clipped into the plug. The Keystone standard says the loop should be green/white. So much for a standard. Anyone else have a red/white or another color? I'm guessing the red is positive and the white is a neutral or ground.
Good Morning, we are sorry to hear about this from you. We would definitely like to look into this further on our end to make sure you connect the wiring properly. Please do contact us at 866-425-4369 when you are able to! Thank you.
Good Morning @@KeystoneRVCompany. I've already called Keystone Customer Service. The nice lady told me they should be green and white not red and white. She asked a fellow advisor and then told me "Sometimes we run out of wire and have to use another color. The red should be positive and the white is ground." I'd be happy to talk to someone technical. What number should I call for tech support?
Here's an update @@KeystoneRVCompany I installed my rear and side cameras. The red/white wires are NOT tied to the marker lights. They are 12VDC constant "hot" when power is applied to the camper. I can't have the camera wired to a constant 12VDC as it will run down my battery. So I'm taking to my dealer Monday to diagnose and do a warranty repair. Additionally the side marker camera ready lights were wired incorrectly per Furrion. I had to rewire them to work correctly. REALLY frustrated and disappointed with the quality control of my 2024 camper I just bought.
We are so sorry to hear this. Did you try fishing out the wiring? It could most likely be above that spot or below it as the wiring can move in transit at times. We hope you are able to get this fixed properly and we will certainly work with your dealership on this further. @@Gulfshoreman
