I mean, It makes sense. The speedrunner knows the ins and outs of the game and they aren't playing to get emersed. It's comforting knowing that they know what to expect and how to beat the game as fast as possible.
Fun fact: you get an achievement meant for completing into the abyss in under 5 minutes which means the walking segments at the beginning and other factors.

And in ironically, the only place in the game you can look at him and even touch him for any amount of time without negative consequences. You just need to back into the church slowly, he appears when the door slams shut, from there, you'll see.
You know, if I tried something like this, I would give Charlie a chance to run back to his parents, even if the Slender Man tentacles are chasing him and still grabbing him and taking him.
