The amazing thing about this car is that the very few times I've actually seen one on the road, it actually turns more heads than a porsche and even a ferrari.
i use to live literally 2 miles from this DMC shop they show. The owners are really cool guys, they really do have a true passion for the cars and gave me a full tour of the building.
I love the DeLorean, I drove 2 of them. And driving one of these cars will give you lots of attention. Plus people always seem to smile when they see it.
THE coolest car of all time. I fully intend on owning one at some point in my life. I know a lot of people complain about this car and say all sorts of crap about it, but I don't care. This car's cool-factor is all that matters to me.
I'm going to buy one of those Deloreans with a stage 3 engine, 5 speed manual and a corrected suspension. A dream come true. After a lot of convincing, my wife is on board. That was the hard part, now it is just a matter of coming up with the money...wait a minute... I guess the hard part is not over yet, but mark my words, I will have a Delorean :) Thanks for keeping the dream alive!
I would love to see this company flourish. 10 years down the road might have a brand new delorean along with the original. Ill be waiting on the ad to the revived delorean company announcing its models. Go delorean!
I actually saw one of these on the road the other day. Never would have thought back in the 80's that the first time I'd see one on a public road would be in 2011.
Back to the Future did give this car the life it deserved. I would love to own one. I think they are the coolest cars, and now that retro is on everyones mind again, maybe we will start seeing more of these silver beauties.
I've loved DeLorean ever since I saw back to the future, not only for the time traveling abiltys (lol) but the style and sleekness of the car it is good thing their legacy was carried on by DeLorean performance industries
Ya know, I liked the DeLorean initially through BTTF - but I think it's really time to settle down the BTTF references all the bloody time when it comes to these cars. There's more to the car than the movies.
creepingnet now that's something I definitely would love to see because I have 82 DeLorean that I restored and I carry no Back to the Future memorabilia in the car whatsoever as I love the car and the company more than the movie and a lot of the back to the future references do get old
@@blue_eyes_wander3901 You're right. I think that's why so few people know about the Bricklin SV-1. Roughly the same story of the car's birth and death but no classic movies to make a legend of the machine.
I've been working on it. It's his baby though. He's had it for 20 years and has been the only person that's maintained it during that time. He just bought another one for special events with 3k miles, all original. If he ever sells his turbo car and I have the money, I'll buy it from him then! There is a video of it on my webpage.
@steamingpoopfart well, the Deloreans in the market today have a lot of variety. Some of them have been thrashed about in the past years but there are others which are well maintained. Considering that they are well cared for, it is well suited for a daily driver. I personally don't own one but know a friend who actually uses it almost everyday. There are many 80s cars today on the roads today, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. Regular maintainance should be a must like most cars today.
Saw one of these in a high school car show a few weeks back. I've been told they had two of these cars there but I only saw one. Nice people save these.
DMC offers a Stage 2 performance upgrade with 80 more horsepower that the standard engine. They change the camshafts, heads, and exhaust system. Performance is around 6.5 seconds with the 5 speed and 7.5 seconds with the automatic.
I miss my Delorean, In 2000 I had it for about a year sold it for £13,000, The only thing I have left is my old paperwork ,tax disc, car mats, and work shop books. I only sold it because I was being a dad of two.
@FliegendesGeheimnis Not really. The doors go straight up, but they are angled slightly on the ends so they don't touch another car next to you. The doors only require 14 inches of clearance.
There is a performance upgrade available for the Delorean engine from DMC Houston. No turbos are used. They use different cams, different heads, and dual stainless exhaust. It adds 70 more horsepower over the stock engine.
The LX version is an f-ing ridiculous *_*300HP_** . HAD Delorean more investors it's possible that the sickly underpowered 130HP original model could of been around 200HP or so.
the faclility in houston is a factory lol ive been to it. i live in dallas. and with them only buliding such a small number of cars each year mean that when they run out of parts there will be at least a total of 10k + new deloreans out there,
@1991JeepMan They originally came with a gutless v6. It was something like a 2.8 liter. Not sure on the exact size but I am positive it was a fairly small v6.
@rustipup18 they fix or restore the old ones with the new or i should say never used parts from the original factory and yes they do put their own cars together as well so it is pretty much a new old car
You just need to check the website. the base model is 57K already. add some options and you'll be way over 60K. A used delorean, in decent condition is around 25-30K.
I hope one day I can have one. More then any car I would love to have Delorean. Could of had one for 20k a few years back. Couldn't afford it. Maybe in my next life.
@andiders Yeah, but you would need a completely new suspension to handle that power. Not to mention tires and the fabrication necessary to accept such a large engine such as the V16. With an LS1 you would get noticeable performance gains without having to do anything too crazy to the car, PLUS it would be a heck of a lot cheaper as well
@steamingpoopfart, trust me if you are lookin for an everyday car a delorean isnt going to be it, they usually sell them to collectors or something plus they want i think it was around 50 grand for one from the factory, the last time i checked
Wouldn’t be great if anyone out there that has a gift in transforming a delorean supercharged to beat supercars such as a Ferrari or what not that’ll be amazing. This car has great potential.
None of that very limited production car companies can be compared with full mass production like DeLorean, they made in late 81, about 65 cars a day.. the same production of that ones in half a year or maybe a full year.
@steamingpoopfart I own one. Not suitable as a daily driving car at their age. You should really get another car as a daily driver and have a DeLorean as a weekend vehicle. DeLoreans can be very finicky electrically and need a lot of TLC to remain reliable due to the Lucas electrical system in them.
@1991JeepMan This may be a tad bit dissapointing but they never had V8's. DeLoreans only came with one engine, a Peugot, Renault, Volvo V6 with 130 hp. That may not seem like much but I used to own a DeLorean and the car had plenty of power in my opinion. The new DMC is still using the stock engines and tranny's
I read an article once that said the original DeLorean design did NOT have power steering. This seems somewhat surprising for a late '70s - early '80s new concept car... Anyone know the truth behind this?
"Don't worry about getting it up to 88 MPH" because it has a 140 hp engine. It only hits 88 if you drive it off a cliff. Still I'd buy one. And hopefully swap in some real power.
The amazing thing about this car is that the very few times I've actually seen one on the road, it actually turns more heads than a porsche and even a ferrari.

It's great to hear that the DeLorean is being revived. Awesome car.
The delorean is truly the most amazing car in the universe. 4 feet tall, perfect shape and amazing look.
THE coolest car of all time. I fully intend on owning one at some point in my life. I know a lot of people complain about this car and say all sorts of crap about it, but I don't care. This car's cool-factor is all that matters to me.

How i love this beauty on wheels

It was a good documentary I watched on TV once and I loved it. Well I do love the Delorean a lot!
I've loved DeLorean ever since I saw back to the future, not only for the time traveling abiltys (lol) but the style and sleekness of the car it is good thing their legacy was carried on by DeLorean performance industries
Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?!
Ya know, I liked the DeLorean initially through BTTF - but I think it's really time to settle down the BTTF references all the bloody time when it comes to these cars. There's more to the car than the movies.

Had they not used the Delorean in the movies tho it would be a forgotten car.

I'm saving up my money for a DMC 12
keep it up man, Keep the rare classics alive.
+MrJoockaJocka
it took me 28 years! now im a happyowner ;)
Good luck!
MrJoockaJocka did you get it yet
did you buy it?
The flux capacitor guy has no chill
The only thing Ill change is the hp something about 280 hp and a better suspension. I love this car

Saw one in person today for the first time!!
I support him the Delorean is my dream car it's sexy as hell while looking old you just can't describe how awesome the car looks like
Good job Steve! Welcome back to Maryland.
I've always LOVED the DMC-12 exterior design>>>>>>There's somethin' about those wheels that perfectly matched the body's styling............
Love the scene from The Wedding Singer, where Glen pulls up in the DeLorean blasting the Miami Vice theme XD
Saw one of these in a high school car show a few weeks back. I've been told they had two of these cars there but I only saw one. Nice people save these.
I am so into that car I hope I own one one day. I love the way they LOOK :)
Isn´t it ironic that the DeLorean is making a "comeback from the past"? ;.) eh, eh? Get it...yes?...no? :-(

Hopefully it won't rise anytime soon, so I can get one! I'm glad they are finally appreciated more than they were a few years ago.
Good job for these guys!
Will Deorean still be around in 2014? I want a DeLoean To be my first car when i turn 16
Awesome company! Keep Delorean alive!!!!

Bringing it to 200HP.
If i could get one,i would definitely get that upgrade
Been saving since I was a kid, almost there!
love deloreans i wanna get one when i learn how to drive it would be fun having a bttf version and going 88mph and the special lights were on
The LX version is an f-ing ridiculous *_*300HP_** . HAD Delorean more investors it's possible that the sickly underpowered 130HP original model could of been around 200HP or so.
the black delorean at the end looked also cool !
if its not stainless steel, i dont like it. Just ruins it really.
+G Warner well if you dont use proper primer, you can peal off the paint for sure.
one day man I'm gonna have this car and it's gonna be restored and in perfect condition.
the faclility in houston is a factory lol ive been to it. i live in dallas. and with them only buliding such a small number of cars each year mean that when they run out of parts there will be at least a total of 10k + new deloreans out there,
Yep Still going strong and making New Deloreans with NOS parts and they have a New Electric Delorean for sale now too
@1991JeepMan They originally came with a gutless v6. It was something like a 2.8 liter. Not sure on the exact size but I am positive it was a fairly small v6.

Where can I find more info on that? I heard about the electric ones and everything, but don't see anything on their site. Thanks
From Chile, in a few weeks I go to EE.UU to buy one!!!! yeahhH!!!
John Davis! Glad he kept going this long! Am I the only guy that thought RCR other guy was talking?
4:11 I see a black one!
4:11
Do the new ones still have the 2.8 V6 Turbo?
I would love to see the Fisker Karma as the new Doc Brown mobile!!
where can i get one?
@KenMacMillan that put put put really makes it sound like a supercar.
are they still in production???
I hope one day I can have one. More then any car I would love to have Delorean.
Could of had one for 20k a few years back. Couldn't afford it. Maybe in my next life.
so when can i buy one?
Its true, I was just having this conversation with my buddy who owns one. Deloreans are all about cruising, not speed.
man, so if i buy one...is there an option for a flux capacitor?
id love to see the original motorweek video of the delorean
I'm SO glad this happened. They should do this with Gen 3 Camaros too lol
And the last-generation G-Body Monte Carlo or Buick Regal Grand National
are they only reproducing them as long as the NOS parts are still there? or did they start producing new parts?
when im older... i want a delorean
Your 8 years older!
@@bizarreness still not old enough or with enough money to afford one sadly xD
@@KeiranCounsellKC1994 that’s sad
It only weighed about 2800 pounds. How much lighter do you need it?
"We´re out of flux capacitoooors!" that was so cheesy and lame...
ikr
RL R -I know, I was thinking, where did they get this tool?
he said it like a 3 year old girl
ok, so, how do i get one?
Excellent!
Moving to america in 4-5 years. I hope they still have couple left so i could buy one.
yea they are but the frames and all other body panels and parts are still there that arent built
Great Scott!

They also have a special edition gold also
