Are the knobs stepped or stepless? I'm looking into getting a macro board with stepped knobs for fine LUT editting, but idk if you can program them to act as vertical or horizontal mouse movements on the monitor. I basically need to click and drag two sets of vertical and horizontal sliders over and over again for work
With steps, you certainly can, in the programming software, there is an option to program a button to act as "Control+Mouse Wheel Up or down" or any other combination, you can even program keys to act as Mouse right click or left click.
Going to use it for da Vinci Studio I have the upgraded version only issue is I'm worried that the software for it is malware so I need to figure out how to fix that first
If you have an unused laptop (windows), you can use it to program the pad. I personally use one layer for davinci and another for Audacity. During a recent trip where I needed to edit a video, i released how much more efficient this thing was, truly a game changer!
Press and hold the button on the top right (the small button to switch between layers), it should show up on the list of Bluetooth devices. Did you order the Bluetooth version?

Looking at the layout at 3:31 there are keys with both ; and : or both ' and " - but how do I tell the software that I only want a ; and not ;: ? Grateful for any suggestions.
I suppose it can be done, but it requires some work around. All 3 knobs are full continuous circles, no caps, they spin endlessly. I made a video on the Loupedeck live, a more expensive device. Honestly, I use this keypad more than I use the Loupedeck. In the video, I also share why I prefer this keypad vs. the much more expensive Loupedeck.

Circular, with a horizantal groove in the middle. Google "potentiometer". If you're looking to customize it with different knobs, they're readily available on Amazon. The priority is for 2.4GHz, assuming you connect bluetooth to one computer and use the dongle for another. The one the dongle is the one that will work, to have it work bluetooth, you have to unplug the dongle.

Yes, the macropad stores the assigned characters in the macropad itself. Also, the software for the macropad doesn't require installation, meaning, once you download the folder with software files on your personal or work PC, you just click to open, no installation required.
In theory, it's possible, but I think it's difficult. You're better off buying a cheap sound board. Here's one on offer for 40 USD and a rating of 4.5 stars: amzn.to/49671WM
I have tested it. Unfortunately, there's no way to reset it. How about trying to download the software in a different pc and try your to program it from there?
Use a Windows PC, a data cable, insert the usb-c all the eay in, press any key, and if it doesn't show connected, it's likely a faulty unit. The process is very easy. If it's not going well, it's mostly likely a bad unit.
I have seen the video you posted on your UA-cam channel. Just to clarify, the software you used for the keypad you posted a video about is not the same as shown in my video. You will find the link to download the correct software in the video description.

Yes, I use mine with Davinci Resolve and Audacity. It helps with assigning the most used key stroke combinations (copy, paste, cut, copy attributes ect...) You will need a windows PC to assign the shortcuts.

The keys on the macropad are all assigned to the letter "S" or empty, so no, it's not possible. If you try the press and assign method, the key you press will have no value.
You don't need to click or do anything, insert the dongle, and it should connect right away, the buttons on the back are for layers and function, if it the didn't work, try the switch in the middle, it can be moved to right, left and center, check all of them.
Thanks for the video. Can you assign different keys / dials to multiple pieces of software? Eg one set of keys for photoshop , another for premier pro etc. so when you’re in the software it switches the macros automatically
Agree. The button that switches layers allows you to do that in a simple way, the first click let you know what layer you're on, you can also have a colored light for the layer that's will stay on as long as the device is plugged to a power source.
Didn't test, but I would say it's the perfect one to try on given the price point.

@@RandomTeq Thanks for the fast reply! But the button has both characters on it so I can't just enter one of them. It becomes , < Or did you mean I should mark the key I want, click on the center text box, enter a character on my keyboard so it ends up in the text box and then hit Download? I tried that and it says Download Success in green up top but the function isn't downloaded onto the keyboard.
What's the function/action you want to download? If you only want one character, you can look for it in another tab/page.

I need one knob to do ; in one direction and : in the other and one knob to do < in one direction and > in the other (standard keys for brush hardness and brush size in Photoshop when using Swedish). The < and > are available on the Ctrl/Alt/Shift page but if I add those, it converts to Shift + < for some reason. I got it working by redefining the shortcuts in Photoshop to more readily available characters - but it would have been awesome to have it work with stock Photoshop instead of adapting the shortcuts on each PC I use it on.
Got you! Cheers to the Swedish audience. I had a feeling you were attempting to use it for an editing software :) I tried it, same results as yours! I believe it's a keyboard limitation as I can't get rid of the (+) but at least you're able to change the editing software shortcut to go around it. I use it on Davinci, and it's slightly worse as Davinci doesn't have shortcuts for certain keys at all.

It's capped at 18 characters per key. Although the software seems to allow and record 500+, when tested, it only goes as far as 18.

You can, useing the layer function, but it doesn't switch automatically. you have to use the button located on the top left.

Must be programmed in Windows, but will work on Mac.
