Somewhere in the fictional world of WoWS: Shikishima: "my secondaries are so awesome, I have a Harugumo strapped to each side of my hull" Pan American BBs: "hold my beer for a second. HANS! Where is that Goliath at?"
Idk, the Ipiranga isn't that impressive after playing a bunch of games with it. The secondaries are good, but the main guns are very mediocre and it's very vulnerable for a bb that's supposed to close the distance to be effective. The enemy Andes also completely disintegrated in moments as soon as it got focused down. I think the funny button could charge a bit less quickly, but other than that, Ipiranga at least doesn't feel stronger than average. A big part of what made it look so broken in this game is Trenlass' skill, some absolutely paid-actor level plays by the enemy, and the commander that has crazy perks.
The GK/Pruessen line could get this easily as they are more of a ranged ship nowadays. It would make sense to get that extra range out of them for a kind of hybrid build
@@Alex-qc6wk I feel like people forget that Atlantico (basically the ideology behind this whole new line) has existed in game for ages, and it never could make a strong argument as power creeping any of the german ships, premium or tech tree (except Odin, but that ship makes everything look like it power creeps it). Whilst the German secondaries may no longer hold the title as being THE most effective secondaries in the game, any longer, the German BB's and BC's from T8-10 are in fact proper brawlers and have much more consistent plating. It's a Schlieffen effect that people seem to hound in on the damage output capabilities, but glaze over how the armor profiles in themselves itself isn't fantastic. All three ships actually are quite damage prone; 51mm isn't just the deck armor, that happens to be the plating thickness of the lower belt armor for Los Andes and Libertad (Iparanga actually has a 305mm lower belt, but that's not sufficient enough to stop any battleship guns at T8). In fact 51mm in that specific area (the main casemate) happens to actually be a terrible number since every caliber of 305mm or smaller has a minimum fuse threshold of exactly 51mm or less; meaning any destoyer or cruiser that fires AP with at least 51mm of pen will always have their shells arm inside the ship. And having thin plating doesn't give it the light cruiser treatment of getting away with overpens most of the time either; all three of the ships have nearly 70% of their profile being somewhere you can target to aim for the citadel. And if you're not taking a citadel from a plunging shot, you're taking one from the side since the all three of them have only a small gap between the belt and actual citadel and that thickness is uniform anwhere you can target it on the profile (Iparanga is much worse with this as just under the front A-B turrest and under the rear X-Y-Z turrets the citadel extends all the way to the edge of the ship. 51mm to shatter
Battleship designers in 1900: "strap some weird 9.2 inch guns to the side" Battleship designers a few years later: "no secondary only primary" Latin American countries like three decades later: "ACTUALLY YOU KNOW WHAT"
Technically the 9,2 inch isn't that weird. It was more or less the standard gun for Brittish armored cruisers. It also became the secbat of choice for late gen pre-dreads (sometimes called semi-dreadnoughts) when they felt that more heavier firepower is better than lots of smaller pew-pews. Churchill proposed arming new modern cruisers with them when the Treaty System fell apart. There were armored cruisers armed with everything from 6", 7,6"(French), 8", 8,1" (German), 9,2" (Brittish), 10" or even 12" guns for some Japanese armored cruisers.
@@wierdalien1 To my knowledge from the sources I've read, the only proposal the navy themselves supported was the 15000t 8" cruiser (Albemarle). Churchill seems to have been the only one championing making a 20000+t 9,2" treaty cruiser killer.
Master and commander, such a great movie. I wish they gave us a follow up movie of what happened to the crew they left on the Acheron as well as what happened when the surprise turned around.
It was one of Russell Crowe's best roles. I enjoyed it more than Gladiator. Honestly, they could easily make a multi-season TV series on all the books. There's far more material there that can be adapted than all of the Game of Thrones books combined.
I would expect the following nerfs on this: - Reduce effectiveness of funny button - Increase reload time on secondaries - Nerf maneuverability & ship speed
Honestly the manoeuvrability is the most outlandish part, such a long skinny ship should turn like an oil tanker. It's literally how the laws of physics work
I agree on all points. One way to reduce the effectiveness of the funny button that would work with physics (I know, physics is RP in WOW games) would be to keep the range and damage buffs, but have a slower reload. Special shells with increased range _and_ destructive power will be bigger and thus harder to handle and will need bigger propellant charges - also harder to handle. I would make sense if it took longer to load... And yes, the maneuverability seems.. overly 'brisk'
one correction, the Ipiranga has only 152mm secondaries. still silly though as it basically has two pearths strapped onto either side. I'm thinking of running a 6 heal zombie build because of the fast cooldown heal these things get.
With a full secondary build, plus the dedicated Special Commander from the "mosiac" and the "funny button", the range of the secondaries on these new Pan American BB's is greater than most (if not all) DDs MAIN battery guns, most Cruisers and T6 BBs as well - something like 15.6kms. If it wasn't for the need to be shot at as well as shooting, these ships could cover the entire smaller maps just with their secondaries!.
Good day to you guys. The 2003 Russell Crowe movie of the same name was such a great movie, there should have been sequels. The biggest thing they did to try to balance these ships is they don’t get the sort of armor scheme that German BBs get and if you notice their health pools are extremely low compared to other ships of their tier, even the BCz

But due to all the torp and HE spam, which WG seems to think is alright and not at all the cause for preventing BB's from moving up and actually engaging from the front line like they want, it's not going to happen.

Noticed another replay bug. Shortly after the start of the game the steering indicator shows a full rudder shift to port and stays that way , but the ship isn't turning to port. It could be sailing in a straight line, turning to starboard, or turning to port, but the indicator never moves off hard to port. WG, why you keep breaking stuff? I hear there's a smoke spotting bug at the center of the map now. Not a replay bug, either. This affects game play. BTW, I have Ipiranga and love her. But WG has made the special PanAm commander impossible to get unless you have a ton of ships in port. I don't. The only way to get more of the tokens needed to purchase the crates that have the puzzle pieces to get the commander is to buy the tokens, for cash or doubloons. If I was lucky it would ONLY take me about $100 US to buy enough tokens to get the crates to get the puzzle pieces. If I'm not lucky (because of duplicate puzzle pieces), it could be double or even triple that. And you only get the container once every two tries. And most of the stuff in the bundles is useless to me. I don't care about camos, certainly not for ships I don't even have and am not planning on getting. And I was able to get 43 of the 60 puzzle pieces using the free Festive tokens. Come on WG, WTF?

Paul, have you ear of the smoke screen multi-bugs?
I played the new tier 8 Spanish BB in rank that thing can fight tier 9s and helped me progress in rank it's fkin crazy.
Thanks!
amazing stats--the realist in me ponders just how rapid the power creep will be.
