Your like that answer that every one in a room is trying to recall and you’re almost there but the memory keeps elude you and then, (usually when everybody change the subject) the answer bursts in your head-and you scream the answer out, all exited. And everybody go, oh yeah, that thing. Thats the same thing I wanted to say about Goldfrapp, and as I was trying to put the correct words in my head, it would not fit together...and the I came across your comment and was like- YYYYYEASSS, THIS IS IT !! Mega thanks.
Had this song stuck in my head for 20 years, never knew the title but sometimes looked to no avail... playlist helped.....I'm healed of this 20 yr burden
True. Black Cherry is as fresh an album today as it was in '03. To have crafted a dance (I'm not fond of the term _Electroclash_) classic at age 37, especially after the lush, cinematic feel of Felt Mountain, must have been gloriously satisfying. I know only of Madonna's _Ray of Light_ to be another Pop masterwork from an artist nearing middle age.
Lots of ecstasy pills were consumed by myself 2003 while out at some random club in Chicago at like 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning this song would always come on and that twist song Benny benassi electric six and all them other crazy songs that are still timeless
One of the most addictive tracks ever created, a speechlessly fabulous video, as relevant today as it was almost 20 years ago, Dawn Shadforth was thinking outside of the box years before the rest of them, how many videos do we watch now with the choreography & even the essence of this video lifted & used elsewhere?...
Yeah it’s how I found this song too. I remember that year having the most incredible soundtrack. Kasabian were on there. There was a song by The Cooper Temple Clause that got me into them (massively underrated) and I swear Fools Good by The Stone Roses was on there
Only the sexiest video ever. I love everything about this video. The dancing, the playfulness, the Victorian-sex-party feel of the stag-head bits, the lounging around on a shag carpet. A lesson in the forgotten art of hedonism.
I remember back in 2004 while people around me were listening to dirty south finger snapping songs, I was introduced to Goldfrapp via FIFA 2004... I've been a fan since then. I was like 14 back then.
2024, Alison Goldfrapp's voice is just pure silk. This voice could talk me into serious trouble. It doesn't sound any older than when it first got released. Love this song
I bought this song as a single when I was so heavily into grunge and nu metal that I had little interest in any other genres. It has such a confident beat; it sort of stamps away like the best dancer on the floor, if that makes any sense. And the video is just perfect for it. I've been a fan ever since this song and I believe it can stand up to any NIN, Rico Capuano, Ministry or other such band. It sort of not only crosses the divide but swaggers over it. Just my opinion.
Well said, NIN came to mind first time I heard Train. Just discovered Goldfrapp a few weeks ago and having a blast listening to their catalog and taking in studio and live performance vids, wish I could've seen them live.
@@MarkH457 - I wish I could've seen them live too. I think Alison does some solo stuff now. I might be wrong here, but I also think she may have remixed some Marilyn Manson songs that came out as b-sides. But I so could be wrong with this!
I was listening to this in my car yesterday, it has sounds in it that are very close to the sounds of the alarms on my car (which has a million 'safety' alarms). I spent the whole song wondering what was broken or why I was driving so bad.. thanks Goldfrapp
I find it near incomprehensible that they haven't been given a Bond theme gig. Incredibly short sighted of the franchise not to realise they would hit it for six.
omg, what a fantastic video! they did a lot more with it than I wouldve expected! like they totally made it work. some people would have had them just standing around in pretty costumes or whatever. but the dancing really makes it cool! look at them do the traiiin! haha
I've been rocking gold frapp for years. There's a live video of Strict Machine that starts off with this beat its live somewhere not in America but everyone's wearing costumes it looks like the craziest wildest concert you could ever go to
Love this song and used to watch the video all the time. Just came back after a while and they've obviously re-edited the video and cut out most of the parts of the woman with the tassels. Wonder why. Still an awesome song and love the video.
for those who dont know to pull a train ...is slang for group sex...also its about plastic surgery ....and shallow culture but ...also celebrating the diversity of having such a crazy culture like la in the world ..its not judgemental ...but it acknowledges how shallow it all is. Train' is about obsession, overindulgence and a kind need for it, and a sort of disgust of it as well. All those things really and inspired by being in L.A. I fucking love this song. ‘Train’ is about obsession, overindulgence and a kind need for it, and a sort of disgust of it as well. All those things really and inspired by being in L.A. I think, which seems to be quite a good place to do all those things, a bit of surgery, you know, money, drugs, sex. It’s a sort of double edged sword, a sort of disgust of it and at the same time a sort of need to indulge in these things." from goldfrapp
Don't mind me, just decided to look up old FIFA songs (thanks FIFA for introducing to awesome music I otherwise would have never heard.) This song is so classic!
I think it is Dawn Shadforth director's cut version for Goldfrapp TV 4K video upgrade. I remember slightly different version on MTV and #VIVATV show #FastForward with Charlotte Roche when this single was released in 2003 for "Black Cherry" Love The extra bits
This video is definitely different to the one I originally saw.... the lady in black inspired me to go to burlesque lessons. I’m off for one shortly actually 😁
Will and Alison are certified electroprodigies. "Felt Mountain" and "Black Cherry" are masterpieces of sensual cybernetic rhapsody. Oh, and if you like these guys, _seriously_ check out the band GusGus. _Seriously!_ 😁
Goldfrapp are so underrated. Although I think there fan base are fanatics. The generation that grew up in the 80's love them to because of there synth sound. I would think oddly there tracks may of done better if they had been released within the last 10 years
@@missmaam792 yeah the "Pilots" video was changed back to the "original"? Don't know but I like the version I first saw...the music was a bit different than what I was used to. And the "ROAWN" video had a few versions...teh one I liked and no can't find is the one that stays on Allison standing by the giant disco ball without cutting to trash boys right away. GF should let us know or make the other videos available...the vids are really good.
They haven’t even uploaded the videos for Pilots, Human and Lovely Head on their YT channel. Even the video for Utopia is condensed, as it doesn’t feature the shots of Alison spilling blue clone liquid out her mouth.
I have to say, this is how you do sexy music video RIGHT. Allison is very much in charge here, she's not "just another video ho" like so many other female artists that try to be provocative, she manages to be sexy without being lewd, alluring without being tawdry, and it's clear this fantasy scene is about HER not just pandering to a male audience. Hell she looks like she's having a ton of fun up there.
Goldfrapp is criminally underrated.
There you are, I was browsing the comment section looking for you and I found you as I knew I would, without a doubt.👍🏻
Criminal innit but
I find most of the best artists are.
Capital punishment for all of them!

2024 and still slaps. Goldfrapp is timeless
audio and visually
if it slapped when it came out, why would the passage of time make any difference?
actually kind of insulting to the artist.
facts
Nearly 20 years old...still fresher than anything contemporary.
Absolutely!!!

Who? Song or lady's?
I cannot believe it's been nearly 20 years, time for an anniversary bash soon, me thinks 😁
this album was way ahead of its time. we werent ready but we are now. this still slaps
Listening in 2021 and this track is timeless.
lol so is the symbolism: black-and-white, leopard print, deer stag with horns....
alison was such a little rothschild tool.
2022, for the first time.. ^^
I saw this Goddess being born on stage... I've been a devotee since that magical moment!

Simple, cansados de la moda y buscan música pop como la gente.
Alisson es espectacular.
After all this time she still looks amazing. She is clearly a vampire who does not age.
Maybe under certain lighting, but she does look much older now. Hasn't changed her talent as a musician but be real.

True, much copied in a sense, but this one is still far more both transgressive and subtle.
My first goldfrapp song... i can still remember being blown away in 2003
Omg same here! 2024 and still sounds amazing.
Great old times.... Fifa 2004
+Alfredo Jerez Really ? Definitely Fifa has the best OSTs, I discovered so many, SO MANY artist with these games

This will always be a cool track. Goldfrapp is Bowie material.
The whole vibe just oozes sexy without being overly lascivious or lewd unlike music in the last few years. They should have been bigger than they were
Only the sexiest video ever. I love everything about this video. The dancing, the playfulness, the Victorian-sex-party feel of the stag-head bits, the lounging around on a shag carpet. A lesson in the forgotten art of hedonism.
every carpet is a shag carpet if you try hard enough
AMAZING!!!! Been a fan for so many years! 57 yrs old and will dance this song like no tomorrow!

Churrumais samehere. Found out about the song via fifa 2004
Her eyes are so intoxicating.
I'm in love with the young thing in all white... Dancing with themselves and the wall... 😍
A very underrated song.
If, as a man, you don't feelings stirrings watching Ms Goldfrapp you might have to accept you're dead
perkyporkpie Precisely. Hell, I'm gay but that woman is mesmerising!
It just oozes and slithers through the ears.....
My theory is they have synthesizers for breakfast. Love

She has a gift for connecting music straight t the erogenous zones.

This is the real Eyes Wide Shut.

This looks like one party I DO want to be invited to!
I find it near incomprehensible that they haven't been given a Bond theme gig. Incredibly short sighted of the franchise not to realise they would hit it for six.
all of Felt Mountain could be a Bond soundtrack and would lay waste to 99.9% of the dribble that's used I'm looking at you Sam Smith
One of my favourite artists, just always quality. Bought re-release of Felt Mountain which started it
It's A Great Song From Goldfrapp Train Original Soundtrack From FIFA Soccer 2004

I love Alison Goldfrapp!

6 years later and this song still gets me going like the very first time I heard/saw this video. Phenomenal!
Same for me even though I first heard it in 2003.

(you hear rhythmic snapping in a back alleyway)
(sweating, you turn around)
*It's Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory.*
I was living in Asia when this came out and the version of this video that was released there was woefully edited!
I could be wrong, but I think this song has some subtle sexual undertones.
a tad...
😂😂😂
yeah, but you have to look carefully for them underneath the blatantly raunchy overtones.
Seriously, I don't see it. LOL :P
What gave you that idea
I remember this when I was a young teen, MTV still considered this avante garde or indie.
Goldfrapp are so underatedly inferential you can really see here where rihanna's 's&m',
Allison is the Queen of UK pop...

I love it. Its so Adult.

Yes. I have this album. I don't have Taylor Swift, Katie Perry, Beyoncé, etc. Because I have good/different standards.

Such a good band still listening to this I'm 2022
Don't mind me, just decided to look up old FIFA songs (thanks FIFA for introducing to awesome music I otherwise would have never heard.) This song is so classic!

Totally bro. Im buidling a playlist of my fav songs from all the fifas
I love this song, haven't heard it in ages though. Heard it first on Rage at like 2am lol.
Been a Goldfrapp fan for about 20yrs now. This is one of my favorite songs. You GO girl.
My introduction to Goldfrapp when this came out. What a song, what a woman 😻
Hard to believe this is almost 20 years old
Omg, does this qualify as "oldies" music now? lol It makes me feel old. I was in college when this song came out.
I'm addicted to goldfrapp
I can never pass up watching this again every time my algorithm re recommends
Every time I listen to this, it's like T. Rex with Alison Goldfrapp instead of Marc Bolan.
Garnier brought me here lol . Great song!
This song is never not in my head.
