I can imagine that once Papyrus is killed, Sans finds new resolve, trying to find a way to stop Frisk. But how can he? Even if he kills her, she'll only come back the stronger for it, for each trick he uses to stall her like this, he exhausts his options. There HAS to be some way. Mustering his strength and will to avenge Papyrus, he forces Frisk back to the core, but the ordeal to move his opponent so far exhausts him. Frisk, seeing his exhaustion, lunges for what will prove to be the final strike. Sans is effectively cornered. I can imagine that once Papyrus is killed, Sans finds new resolve, trying to find a way to stop Frisk. But how can he? Even if he kills her, she'll only come back the stronger for it, for each trick he uses to stall her like this, he exhausts his options.
There HAS to be some way.
Mustering his strength and will to avenge Papyrus, he forces Frisk back to the core, but the ordeal to move his opponent so far exhausts him. Frisk, seeing his exhaustion, lunges for what will prove to be the final strike.
Sans is effectively cornered. He's fatigued, and out of breath, unable to continue his sidestepping dodging, and behind him is a drop into the glowing heart of The Core.
"Your next line is _'You're too tired to dodge any more of my attacks, you're finished!'_ " Sans says.
"You're too tired to dodge any more of my attacks, you're finished!" Frisk says, "N-NANI!?!"
_'I have no way of knowing if this will work,'_ Sans thought to himself, _'I've surely fought Frisk a countless times. She attempted a wild swing with her knife, but the attack lacked the precision any of her other strikes had, and it went wide own it's own, without any evasion on Sans' part.
Frisk stumbled right past Sans, and off the edge of the platform.
Frantically, Frisk tried to reach for her save file before she fell into the core. Her finger lay right on the load button of the file when she was engulfed by the core.
The anomalous properties of the core shattered Frisk's being being across countless infinite timelines, only the most infinitesimally small fractions of herself existing in any given timeline.
And although she wished for death, she was unable to die. So eventually, she stopped thinking.
It is fitting that papyrus is Cesar because one is crushed with stone while the other has crushed thoughts of you being a nice person
