I found Fusion from a store in Australia Cabriole Shabby Chic and I love it!!!! I am an artist and I love décor and design. I also quilt and do my own soft furnishings. OMG I just love this. Now it is so good because I can buy preloved furniture and upscale for practically nothing Thank you so much,.
Beautiful!, I love the champagne color!
I JUST started my first fabric paint job tonight with the Fusion Picket Fence white paint. I am painting a casual chair which has a matelasse fabric. We bought it in the 90's and it was kind of an ivory or slightly off-white then. It became dirty after several moves and my husband sitting in it with dirty hands and hair. I just tried to clean it and it looked worse, so now I am painting and I JUST THINK THIS IS THE GREATEST thing. It's the closest thing to instant gratification that I can think of! It's going on beautiful and it will take me a little time to finish it, but so glad I bought this paint at Mitzi Mo's in Glenwood, IA.
Yes isn't it just the best?!!
So glad I watched this video! I bought a great little wrought iron stool at Goodwill with a cushion covered in a plush leopard print. I was going to paint the fabric, but it will probably be to spikey and rough. You can see underneath the stool the original fabric had been covered. I will just remove the fuzzy leopard print and paint over the original fabric. Love the champaign and the light gold colors. Beautiful job and great demo video. Thank you!
Wow! Beautiful
Gorgeous!!!!
thank you
The chair looks great.
What specific kind of wax do you use? I'm also redoing fabric chair cushions 😊
Thank you, awesome video! Is it the same process for a vinyl chair or is there something else you'd recommend?
Same process exactly! Although, you may not need to water down the paint at all (try your first coat watered down just to see)
Apart from making it soft is there any other purpose for the wax? Do I need it?
Hi, if you paint a pillow in a bright color and use it on a light couch. Won't it smudge on the fabric of the couch or your clothes? Thanks!
No it won't! Fusion doesn't smudge at all once it's dry to the touch.
I found the grit, now After you sand what is the actual name of your Wax?
What is this paint color for the chair? I saw the Champaign and metallic mixed was for the piece at the end. But couldn’t find or missed the color for the chair !
Once I paint fabric and it’s dried, can I then stamp the fabric with a decor stamp? My fabric has a low pile. If so, would I use ink or would I use Fusion paint for the decor stamping too? I’ve never used Fusion paint before but I’m LOVING all your video tutorials and I’m excited to try some soon! 😊 Thank you!
I would reccomend that you try out a small sample first to see if it i=will work, yes people have done this before using Fusion.
I'm redoing a boucle chair right now. I'm thinking I can't put the clear wax on that. How is the wax for sitting on? Will it go onto clothing when sitting on the chair?
not once buffed, actually! When buffed properly, it is no longer a paste.
When waxing can we use the beeswax finishing pot? Instead of the clear wax you use here?
Yes you can! They both give a fantastic, smooth, supple finish :)
Fusion Mineral Paint ok awesome thank you!
What kind of wax do you recommend? Wonderful video!
We recommend our furniture waxes, see more here www.fusionmineralpaint.com
How long should you wait between coats?
2 hours
Is something like this for display only or can you sit on it? Will the paint finish crack?
you can most definitely sit on it! Fusion is quite flexible when dry, so it will not crack.
@@FusionMineralPaints Thank you!
Would this work on microfiber fabric?
Your results will depend on how plush the microfibre is. The longer the fibres, the more likely the paint will cause it to go spikey. We don't recommend it for velvet or similar plush fabrics.
Do you think this technique can be done on a couch and it still be comfortable?
Absolutely!! It's remarkable how well it works!
What kind of sandpaper are you using?
I use a 220 grit to soften the paint between coats.
What is the grit on the sand paper???
She said 220 in another comment
can I use this technique on outdoor cushions?
Yes you can! Don't wax them though if outside. You could apply tough coat instead.

Thanks for your videos on this subject. I'm still unclear about why regular house paint (acrylic) might not work for this if it's thinned down? What is the consistency of the paint before it's thinned, vs. eggshell house paint? (I realize brands can vary on this question). I'd also love to know what it feels like without the wax because wax won't work on my project (interior fabric-covered walls of a RV which need to be super easy to clean of grease etc.)
Acrylic and Fusion Mineral paint are two entirely different products. I would not recommend using acrylic on fabric, as it makes the fabric stiff IMHO. But you could try it and see what you think.
Can I use ONE for cushions?
Yes, you can indeed.
How long does it take to cure completely?
Aprx 20-30 days.
@@FusionMineralPaints thank you! I love your paint!
Can I use Bee wax
Yes!
