Mr. Nokie Edwards, He Is Truly One Of The Best & Finest Guitar Players In The World!! He Definitely Get My Vote!! Big Huge Thumbs Up!! - Big Will :) - Big Will / Ultimate Music Universe
This morning March 12, 2018 Nokie Edwards passed away after several months battling an infection after hip surgery this past December. I'm feel this loss very deeply... Nokie was my guitar master. R.I.P.
nokie used to be one of my customers up here in eugene, oregon....he used to like to play the ponies and stop in to watch a race or two....he was always a joy to be around. i missed him dearly when he moved to arizona and woukd always ask one of his friends i would see now and then...."how is nokie doing?" last year i learned of his surgery and now today learned of his passing..... such sad news and sad day. nokie is gone from this earth but his music, his humor, his smile will live on for forever. RIP nokie and thank you for the memories. my condolences to judy, to his friends and all his fans throughout the world....nokie, you are truly one of the greats❤❤❤
There is no guitarist today who can touch Nokie. Hey for over 60 years he's been playing as this. Now, who can match this awesome sound. Hitchhiker a very excellent sound. wow, somehow Nokie gets better each time out. And yes, looking quite good. msorite60
i was a heavy metal kid, and always loved hard rock. I discovered the ventures only in my late 20's and was amazed by the lead guitar player. Couple of years later and I'm also convinced he's the best there ever was, and is certainly my favorite guitar player. He can express so much with his playing and is always holding back for the sake of the song but he could play any songs a million different ways.
I met Nokie in '69 in Seattle when he was playing in my wife's cousin's band "The Gary Paulson Band. He was an original Ventures member but worked with Gary when not recording.
This is about my favorite video ever of Nokie! He's looking animated, smiling a lot, and genuinely reaching out to his audience. It's great to see him looking so happy too.
I love this production. It sounds as though he added another guitar player on the break which was a nice touch. He deserves all that life has to offer. I've listened to his version of "I Got A Woman" about 100 times and that was just last week!!
Nokie is so smooth. Years and years of experience does it. He's a big fan of Chet as we can hear here. Great double stops , oh yeh , the greatest by far. mos60
If this was recorded in 2013, I am really happy to see him looking so well. He has been in frail health of late, but he looks fine here. One of his lifelong idols was Chet Atkins, as as time goes on, he is gravitating more and more toward Chet's basic style. A lifelong idol of mine (both Chet AND Nokie).
Personally I prefer his early Ventures style, old Mosrite tone, and the occasional bit where he would pick behind the bridge for the harmonics (I've never really gotten into to country style picking much...and I'm a sucker for unorthodox / creative approaches), but regardless, there's no doubt he's one of the best there's ever been...and to still have it at his age is amazing...I'm not quite 40 and I've already noticed a gradual loss of ability...
there is ...i no Best guitar player .. except..CHET ADKINS..MERLE TRAVIS...nokie is great in his own right....but this is no contest...there r greater players than Nokie....

こうやってみますとノーキーさんの手と指ってかなり大きいですよね。よくこんな大きな手でモズライトのウルトラスリムネックを巧みに操れたなぁ。
Where can I get this color Hitch Hiker guitar !?

Please put a "Real" Buddy Holly photo on the end.
Гитара умеет говорить. Это доказано Ноланом Эдвардсом. Царствие Небесное покойному
