Once you think about it, you realize how different every single Mario game is, even though they all have the same gameplay technically, everything else is almost completely different even if you don't realize
Love the vid, Galaxy is my favorite video game and while I may personally disagree with some of your points, this was a really well made video that I had a great time watching. And it opened my eyes to different perspectives on this game, so thanks for that. Really good vid! :)
As crazy as its may sound, i believe Bowser's fury was the first 3d mario game that truly recaptured that feel of freedom that 64 had. Odyssey was definitely a huge step in the right direction but level progression was still super linear as you mentioned, with only a couple of instances where you get to choose between levels. Not having a hub world was definitely a missed opportunity. That said, i feel bowsers fury having a completely open world worked well. You always had plenty of choices or areas to visit at any point and once you had enough catshines you could face bowser to unlock new islands at your own pace. Plus, like with sunshine you could see various other locales except there are no loading zones. My hopes for the next 3d mario game is that: 1. It has the total freedom of Bowser's fury - both mission freedom and level progression wise. 2. It has varied locales with lots of unique NPCs, species, gimmicks, etc like Odyssey. 3. It has the creativity, ost and direction like galaxy. 4. The immersiveness of sunshine. 5. The tight and consistent planrforming levels of 3d world.
I need to replay Bowser’s Fury at some point. I beat it when it released but never again and I honestly forgot about it. We are in dire need of a new and proper 3D Mario
My 3D mario ranking 1. Galaxy 2 + Best level design + Best power ups + Most balanced difficulty - No story 2. Mario 64 + Most replayable + Best mission structure + Best hub - poor camera controls 3.Mario Odyssey + Most content + Most creative ideas + Most versatile movement - least replayable 4. 3D world + 4 playable characters + Multiplayer - fixed camera 5. Galaxy + Best story + Best atmosphere - reused content 6. Sunshine + Most unique - Janky physics - Blue coins 7. 3D land + 3D effect - Uninspired
@@VivienVarga-ki3sd In Galaxy 1 the timed comets are too easy making them feel like a replay of the stage. Most of the purple coin missions are long and boring. The Luigi rescue missions are just replaying the stage to find Luigi. There are also galaxies that are reused like hurry-scurry and goldleaf. In Galaxy 2 the prankster comets actually feel like a challenge and not an excuse to replay the same stage. For example a lot of the timed comets start you off with 30 seconds and use collectable clocks that add to your timer increasing the overall challenge and tension.
I think as I've grown older, there are some games that I've come to enjoy for their qualities that aren't gameplay. I love Galaxy for its music, its theming, its visual design... but playing it is something else. I tried playing Galaxy 2 earlier today and got past the first world, but the actual gameplay experience wasn't doing much of anything for me. I just get my kicks in other ways, I guess.
Nah galaxy is still better. The art style in 64 is gross. Also you cant play as luigi which immedietly disqualifies it as the best. But seriously i dont really like open world games. They are way too overwhelming. Plus no hot space mommy.
watching a dylonic video is like watching a video made by dylonic

The differences between new super Mario bros and new super Mario bros is crazy

I don’t really have a favourite 3D Mario game, they all hold their own in my eyes.
I kinda agree with what TheBoltMaster said regarding xc2 tbh.
This video is amazing bro, personally I played 64 first and when i beat Galaxy it opened my eyes. Really great video tho ❤
I have one thing to say about this game: EPIC.
Super Mario Galaxy is, to me, the best platform ever made

Could've fooled me for a 100k+ view video, very good job, this one going viral soon
I really didn't notice until I saw this comment
