In regards to The forgotten Land, I feel like nobody talks about how the voice over at the end of that game states that the people of that world used Fecto Elfilis to open a portal to "A Land of Dreams", which is where they all went. "A land of Dreams", As in DreamLand, the place Kirby lives in, that Dedede is the King of, on planet Popstar. The game is heavily implying that the people of DreamLand are the descendants of a human like civilization who abandoned their world to live on planet Popstar in Kirby's universe. Like, that should be a way bigger deal than people treat it. Also, as usual Xenoblade reigns supreme.
Splatoon also has 2 bad ending where earth is ruined/destroyed and had a splatfest about what to do in the end of the world where saving the day lost coming in last place
The destruction of the world in Xenoblade is absolutely one of my favorite things, because of how it is executed, makes me think about humanity. The end of Xenoblade 2 blew my mind (If you don't know rhe story of Xenoblade yet, go find out! It is worth it!)
While not thinking about Forgotten Land, in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, there’s a world you travel to that’s a literal giant space snowball, and if you make out its features, you could tell that it’s a frozen Earth, being COMPLETELY engulfed in solid ice, and snow even more devastating than the Ice Age, almost as if the Earth was frozen from being away from the sun for practically billions of years. In the Pikmin series, the planet that the games takes place on, PNF-404, is literally Earth, but set in the future where the continents are shifted back into a supercontinent again, roughly appearing as Pangea Proxima. In Pikmin 2 & 4, and Hey Pikmin, you collect treasures that are abandoned remnants of human civilization: sports equipment, toys, objects associated with gambling, and even Nintendo’s own products, like R.O.B, a Gameboy SP, and a pair of Nintendo Switch joycons, just to name a few. The creatures on the abandoned, dystopian earth-like planet that is PNF-404 are practically hyper evolved leftover surviving creatures of earth’s past, with even some utilizing elements, or carrying the treasures of human civilization’s remnants as forms of attacks, or defense against Pikmin. In Splatoon’s case, those 4-5 world wars, and the problem with global warming, that nearly wiped out the human race is barely just the tip of the iceberg. After those events has transpired, a few remaining group of humans survived, and made a shelter within a crater, and planning to rebuild their civilization once again, in such crater, they named this last resort paradise Alterna. The group of humans remaining that are in Alterna are mostly consisted of scientists, and made the giant underground dome, lined with screens of special crystals that projects the images of their civilization’s greatest desire: to escape to the surface. When they have been situated in Alterna for a long time, they started building rockets in hopes of finding another Earth-like celestial body, and one such rocket they’ve made, the Arc Polaris, made a successful launch, but as they launched, it made parts of those screen linings crash down onto the last remaining underground group of humans, and destroyed parts of Alterna. While on the Arc Polaris, the remaining researchers were experimenting on some small groups of creatures, in hopes of bringing them back by eventually raising their populations. Judd, Little Judd, and ursine anomaly 03 (Mr. Grizz) were three of such remaining mammals to be experimented on, and put into cryo chambers for preservation, before something disastrous happened to the Arc Polaris, in which after the event, it drifted off in space for nearly 10K years, before eventually crashing back down into earth, becoming the Salmon Run stage: the Remains of Arc Polaris. At this very same stage, this is where the cryo chambers stopped working, and unfroze the Judds, and soon-to-be-named Mr. Grizz, has escaped. Of all the events that has passed after this, and the evolution of the squids, and octopi that made contact with the mysterious crystals that polluted the Alternan waters, the inklings, and Octarian regime had developed their own history with their own wars, especially the Great Turf War, surviving several Big Run attacks, and the flooding of the planet, Mr. Grizz has been working behind the scenes working with the strange crystals, infusing them into his fur to make the fuzzy ooze, and developing a way to make mammals return, and thrive on the marine life-ridden earth, alongside with the remains of one of the scientists: Professor Tartar, who has also been working behind the scenes deep within the Deepsea Metro, testing on unsuspecting octolings, turning them into sanitized versions of themselves, blending their remains of their failed test subjects into a giant sanitization beam to cleanse the world of being full of marine life, potentially working in tandem with Mr. Grizz. In the Octo Expansion DLC in Splatoon 2, and in the Return of the Mammalians story mode of Splatoon 3, you’ll encounter a bad ending for each scenario of failing their final fights, with Octo Expansion: failing the final battle will result in Inkopolis Square being sanitized, as how Tartar envisioned the future of the world. In Splatoon 3’s bad ending: Mr. Grizz’s rocket crashes onto the earth, spreading, and raining down all of the fuzzy ooze that Mr. Grizz has made, engulfing the planet into a giant fuzzball in space. For such scenarios as these, I wonder if Nintendo’s doing okay, cause HOLY *FRICK* these could get _real_ disturbing if they wanted to at a point where their games could be rated M. Oh yeah, there’s also the Metroid series, but I don’t know much about it to touch up on that one, besides the space pirates, Ridley killing Samus’ parents, the X Parasite, and exploding planets.
You forgot the wind waker, the Game starts telling US how the world of Hyrule ended and is all abaut dealing whit the remanents of the past in order to let change come and guide the new world forward. The world is ending, everyone can tell if they are not actively ignoring ot represing it, Nintendo is simply inserting the hope that when it does, something else can come and overcome out mistakes
Astral chain has humanity escape earth after they destroyed the world and bayonetta has several destroyed worlds in bayonetta 3 Captain rainbow is a more meta concept where forgotten nintendo characters go to after their games end. Their world didn't end, but it did "end"
Humanity didn’t destroy earth in AC. It was the Chimeras. The Ark was made as a safe haven for the remnants of humanity. During the postgame, they set up the possibility of returning to the continents.
Forgotten Land is not the first Kirby game hinting at a postapocalyptic earth. In Kirby 64 one world is called Shiver Star, a planet with one moon and looking at the graphics one can see continental outlines strongly resembling Earth. You can see everything... Eurasia, America, Africa, Australia... It seems Shiver Star is supposed to be a postapocalyptic frozen over Earth
The ending of Metal gear rising basically shows that Snake died for nothing because the world became a corrupt robotic hellscape and the ending implies that nothing is going to change.
Pikmin isn't post apocalyptic. There's actually a lot of evidence that shows humans are still around. One of the biggest being that the areas from pikmin 1 have actually undergone landscaping between 1 and 2. Which really just makes it funnier.
12:25 Xenoblade X straight up Destroyed Earth and sent Remnants of Humanity to another Planet. X has the most Underrated Story, It needs a Sequel, The Intergalactic Politics thing is Straight out of Tenchi Muyo or Mass Effect and I Love it.

While not Earth, and while not entirely Made By Nintendo. Super Paper Mario literally showed us a world inspired by Japan get consumed by a giant Black Hole in the sky. And I dunno. That’s pretty messed up. They also imply that the caveman desert world got destroyed because it gets redrawn at the end like the first destroyed world did. This gave me an existential crisis as a child bc when u go Back into the destroyed worlds they become like. White “worlds of nothing”. And this void exists in the afterlife. Nobody in the destroyed worlds MAKES IT to the afterlife They didn’t just destroy one world in that game they destroyed multiple
