For a second I couldn't tell what was Ultimate or the remaster. I didn't look at the backgrounds enough or I would have noticed but what sold me is actual remade cutscenes. That's fucking amazing.

Dude, there are people who are coping about Frontiers even to this day. Calling it the "Renaissance of Sonic" when it's only slightly better than Forces. It doesn't even have an actual story or any true progression in the game.
One day I hope to see another sonic remaster that actually follows in some *fan* work. Because it's quite ridiculous we'd even have to rely on project re-rainbow. However I feel there's also the downside of someone being like "SEGA hire these people!" despite the fact this was done because of the failure of the staff and company. It gets worse when our PC's and games get more demanding and they make a half baked thing that modders go "fine we'll do it ourselves." But overall, this is the touch ups we severely needed.

I hold Sonic Colours Wii version near and dear to childhood heart. Was happy sega gave it some relevance again but decided to do an awful job of it. This project made me so happy and I want to thank the passionate modders who gave this game the justice sega didn't want to give it.

some things still need a bit more tweaking imo but this is absolutely impressive. the most impressive thing to me is the redone cutscenes. I understand that the animation data was found in the game files, so it's really cool they used that (i think) and now the cutscenes match the new look.
Absolutely love how this looks. Sonic Colors is one of my favorite Sonic games and I wish this was the remaster we got instead of Ultimate. One that does the game justice.
While the game was terrible at launch (specificly ps4 and switch) even with some of the issues that are left in the game. At the end of the day its still sonic colors

bought this game, played through all of it with the whole mod, couple crashes aside (which i'm sure they're gonna fix in time so i'm not bugging), then i completely 100% the game with all achievements and s ranks. had to turn off the mod for challenge mode since a crash was occuring on both planet wisp and aquarium park in the same couple places, but it was a fun time.
thought modders said they weren't gonna touch it, either way, still saying this is current year 06, the broken disaster that deserves a bashing, will check it out when level mods start popping up since that's really the only reason for it to exist

What was wrong with the Nega Wisp Armor's eyes? Aside from how the cutscene visuals never matching the graphics in the gameplay, I thought the eyes looked pretty cool. Granted the original game's eyes were blank too, but I thought the computerized eyes were a cool addition in Ultimate.

Lost World has mods... not a whole lot but it does have them. It's a combination of features, ease of modding (or lack thereof) and number of copies owned on PC. The last part is especially true since no sane person would put so much effort modding in a game played by so few, unless they are really and genuinely passionate about said game.
I give at least the series x this, _somehow_ it saved colors ultimate. By simply removing all the god awful load times the game is plagued with and somehow getting an _fps boost_ its easily the best version. ...wish i could say the same for ps5 players but sony is full of idiots
imo i think ultimate is fine as a remaster if someone doesn't have a PC/a PC that can even run the game well, or maybe just owns the wii version already a lot of sonic fans seem to offer up emulation and PC alternatives which is fine but going to PC for everything isnt a super accessible thing for a lot of people and sometimes can limit your playspace if you just never touch a console for anything

From the excessive bloom, dulled colors, reduced visual clarity that makes it look like my screen was smeared in vaseline, it almost gives me a headache when playing. Too each their own, but I vastly prefer how Project Re-Rainbow makes the game look.
