@washada Thats actually such a good descriptor, and probably intentional on the designer's part. It's not even just the individual guilds forming their contained dystopias, the whole city is affected by it, making one big mega dystopia.
If you cast command the dreadhorde, it will not matter if they remove Judith, its a cast trigger that gives lifelink so you will still gain all that life
Massacre Girl, Known Killer is going to be an extra spicy commander. So much potential, and such an intersting mechanic with wither. I'm so excited for this set, it feels like a really solid one.
@@tylerbrooks6063 is it that broken? I think is good, very good, but costing 5 and in Naya colors I think he is going to lack something. I suppose giving your elves 10 counters is enough to win a game
It's not just the Elves that get counters, it's the whole board including Voja. The number of counters is what's determined by Elves. So with maskwood you can run any creatures, they'll get counters And draw for being wolves. Plus with All Will be One enchantment or the team up card Hallar and Shalai all those counters are also damage... yeah Voja is ridiculous. Even being 6mana ward freakin 3 and vigiliance is dumb amounts of compensation.
@@Controlqueen31 Homie, Voja is only 5 mana. It has Vigilance, Trample, AND Ward 3, for some reason? It draws cards when it attacks and makes your entire team, Voja included, stronger. For Anzrag the first creature I thought about was General Marshault Elsdragon which states when a creature you control becomes blocked it gets +3/+3 for each creature blocking it. With trample and Indestructible could be another way to just kill an opponent and their board of creatures lol
So awesome they are doing the set review early. Also them not going every single legendary creature is such a time saver. Not every legendary creature is worth talking about as a commander. 🎉🎉🎉
Last Night Together is actually crazy in Anzrag because you can make an opponent's creature indestructible, then infinitely bounce your Anzrag off of it, getting as many combats as you want with attack triggers like inferno titan. Not to mention giving him trample, you basically kill an opponent on the spot
Haven't watched video yet, but I am calling Voja as most pushed. That thing is nuts. Draws cards, pumps self, and has keyword soup that includes Ward 3?! That's new Jodah levels of pushed.
Since Barracks of the Thousand is an ARTIFACT land there are a lot more ways to untap it compared to most lands. Grab a Voltaic Key or Clock of Omens and you're off to the races
For Sophia "Night of Sweets' Revenge" would be sick. When it enters it makes a food and it makes your food tap for mana AND you can sacrifice it to gives your creatures +1/+1 for each creature. This card can literally win a game on its own.
1:16:55 I absolutely love this commander, and I cannot wait for y’all to do the upgrade of deep clue sea. I fully believe y’all will be using her as the face commander
A correction about the math at 18:55, xenagos checks the power each time, so the mole gets even bigger. It would go from 8/4 (+8/+8) to 16/12 like jimmy said, but then it would get +16/+16 to become a 32/28. Another combat would be 64/50. The real power of xenagos (and the other "at combat double" effects) is their exponential nature. In contrast, Kamahl is only additive, giving a flat +3/+3 each time. Xenagos is called Xenagod for a reason!
Sophia has actually felt really strong in my playtesting. It's the same as a lot of other food/clue decks where it feels like I'm not doing anything until suddenly I'm doing everything.
A great Delney card I haven't seen talked about much is Charismatic Conqueror from the lost caverns commander decks. Each of your opponents artifacts or creatures (including tokens!) gets you 1-2 1/1s with lifelink!
I should probably mention that, if you make Anzrag indestructible and force your opponents to block it with a lure effect, you can get as many combats as they have creatures (plus one), no matter how they block. (Assuming Anzrag kills all their blockers, of course.) Even if they stack a bunch of 1/1 tokens against Anzrag, you can deal all 8 damage to the first blocker and leave the rest alive.
I'm not particularly keen on the idea of emphasizing 'Power' as the main focus for Commander. I would much prefer to see content that explores aspects like 'most fun to play,' 'most synergistic,' and other elements that highlight the sheer enjoyment and diverse interactions the game offers. It's more about the rich, engaging experiences the game can provide, rather than just its power level and speed.
Other great card for Yarus deck is Mystic Forge because you can play morphs as colorless spells from top of your deck. And you can always check your top card before you use Cloak/Manifest effects.
3 more cards to consider for Anzrag: Infiltration Lens, Retaliation and General Marhault Elsdragon. The latter are power and toughness pumps for each creature that blocks and last until end of turn so they will carry over across combat phases. The former is just a solid bit of draw for a commander that wants to be blocked.
You guys should take a poll to see how many people want to hear the cards that synergies with the new cards. I think just a quick review would be better all round. Easier shorter video for you and a quick digestible without so much fat for us. Just saying. Appreciate all the content, thanks!
My Melek, Reforged Researcher deck is based around casting cards like Irencus' Vile Duplicate or Quantum Misalignment to create a nonlegendary version of him. (Also works with Vesuvan Duplimancy) Anyways, the mana reduction stacks and I keep casting spells like Cackling Counterpart on the Nonlegendary one. When I need to draw cards, I cast an X draw spell and let all the reduction pay for the cards.
I'm very surprised you didn't mention General Marhault Elsdragon as an add in Anzrag, it seems absolutely cracked in that deck. A lure + Marhault + Anzrag is essentially infinite combat steps
I think if youre doing quake mole as a voltron deck you run roar of challenge and silent arbiter. If you have some way to give it trample youll most definitely be attacking over their 1 blocker and with the indestructible from roar of challenge youd have as many combats as there are creatures on the board
As an Arcades player, I'm pretty skeptical of Pride of the Hull Clade being an effective "win through combat" toughness-matters commander. It requires a lot of components and coordination of different effects. The beauty of Arcades is that it requires so little set-up. And losing white is really crippling to toughness-matters builds. I think this Hull Clade's win con has to be less about combat damage and more about ramping into a scenario where you can activate Hull Clade's ability 3 or 4 times per turn turn and draw like 20-25 cards per turn. You'll find Thassa's Oracle, Lab Maniac, and Jace as you plow through your deck, keep them in hand along with a counter spell or two to protect them, deploy them pre-combat at the key moment, and win.
Surprised Bolas Citadel was not mentioned with Judith, as if most of your spells deal damage you can churn through your deck list it was no tommorow. I think she is most powerful if you think of the context of the best "pay life" do "x" type effects. Another good one is necropotence as you normally are left vulnerable but with Judith you will have plenty of life late game to end with the win. You can literally slot the cards into the deck and still keep on theme too.
Fun idea choose your favorite commanders completely change their colours at random, and build the deck with thou's colours. restrictions no 4 or 5 colour deck and get the same amount of colours as the original

1:18:48 Tanuki Transplanter adds mana when "equipped creature" attacks, not "an equipped creature you control". It's a great dog in the deck but putting boots onto another creature won't cause it to add mana

She works on 34 of the creature in the deck. I think that's a good number lol

Want to talk about life gain with Judith? How about Chain Reaction? Count the number of creatures on the board and then multiply that number by itself and gain that much life. 20 creatures on the board means a board wipe and you gain 400 life. Sit back and enjoy what you have wrought.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but due to the cast trigger wording which makes Command the Dreadhorde "gain" lifelink, I believe that it wouldn't matter whether or not someone removed Judith in response to Command the Dreadhorde being cast, it would still have lifelink.

Surprised you didn’t mention fog effects with Anzrag, basically goes infinite attack triggers. Perhaps they’re not wanting to talk about combos so much?
How would Skyclave Apparition work if you double its trigger and you have 2 cards below. Does one get 2 tokens or one token with the combined mana costs? Or none?
Wouldn't Yarus & Yedora go well with Rude Awakening (or similar spell)? Making all the now "lands" back into creatures and swinging with them or sacing them for value and getting them back as flipped creatures?
I'm kinda unsure if skyclave apparition is actually that good of an idea. You get to exile 2 things, but when it leaves, your opponent will get 4 tokens. Depending on the situation it could be fine or kind of an issue.
Only problem with Duskana, Red/White doesn't really add much to the Bear kindred, sadly. There's no red bears and 1 white bear, not counting Duskana herself
