Oh WoW!! I used to love this show growing up on Long Island! I was very young, but watched it, religiously. Frank Gorshin was my favorite, I used to howl at his Burt Lancaster. Love 'em all! Hey. Ty for this and pls, keep 'em coming! 😆😎😃
They should've shot The Kopykats in Hollywood at ABC if it became a full time series, but have a special guest appearance by Daws Butler and Mel Blanc to show The Kopykats "how it's done."
I remember watching these comedies when I lived in New York back in the 70s. They were a funny bunch of guys and gals, the likes of which we shall not see again......
This had a "Laugh-in" -esque feel to it and with all these impressionists, it made it truly unique, can't think of anythink really like it on TV. Hidden Gem.
My favorite episode was the one Orson Welles hosted. He introduced a sketch and said, "This sketch is being brought to you by Bill's Restaurant and Gas Station. Remember their slogan, "Eat at Bill's and get gas!" Welles' voice made that hysterical!
I remember this show specifically for Rich Little and Marilyn Michaels because she did Barbra Streisand. I'm a big streisand fan even at that age (8 in '72)

Hi there Fred! I think these "lost and VERY rarely seen anymore" tv shows are just about the grooviest things I have ever seen! Thank you so very much for posting and sharing this "tiny piece of television history" with all of us fellow UA-camrs! I thoroughly enjoyed watching! I also read in a comment that you had mentioned that you have more of these episodes available? Will you please consider sharing more of them in the future? I for one, would greatly appreciate it! Take Care! Ms. Elizabeth📺📼📺📼📺
Good find and thanks for sharing it with us. I forgot all about this show. My folks used to watch it religiously. As a kid, I just didn't get it though.
Thanks, Fred, for reminding me of this show! Forgot all about it. Used to love it, because I loved impressionist, and this show clumped them all together. Was such a treat. Do you remember a guy who used to do Barbara Streisand? He was good! Looked and sounded like her singing and talking! Ed Sullivan was a great show for these talented people. But, thanks for this one. Now I remember.
Oh MEMORIES! I met Frank Gorshin at The Broadfoot in Colorado Springs during this time period. I loved this time in my life ...but maybe not Gorshin. Lol

I used to love this show. We had just gotten an abc affiliate when it aired.
I can't say that I remember this show but I must have watched it. I used to love impressionists which is a genre of comedy that has faded since the '70s. Of course there are comedians who do some impressions but not many comedians the do nothing but impressions like Rich Little. We forget that Frank Gorshin was a comic and impressionist. Probably best remembered as The Riddler on Batman and for us Trek Heads, Commissioner Bele in the 3rd season episode, "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield". Thanks for this memory, Fred. I hope you don't run afoul of the copyright police and have to pull it down. :-)
Hi Fred, This was fun and I love seeing things I haven't seen before. Have you seen the "Doris Day Today" special from 1975? That was a blind buy for me and it was terrific :-) Can you post more Kopykats?
OMG!!! I probably watched this when it aired!!!! Fred, how did you find this???!!! A 46 year old episode of a 7 episode series???!!! My guess, it was on at 8:30. Oh how I miss those on the h:30 show starting time of many shows back then!! BUT, my world flipped upside down and forever changed 34 hours later. :-(
That's the thing that really got my attention. Megyn Kelly got in trouble for saying that it used to be OK. People came after her saying it was never OK. They need to watch this. People are always trying to rewrite history.
Pretty cool. I don't remember this show either. Of course recently there are a lot of things I don't remember. I get a little concerned since my mom succumbed to Alzheimer's and my dad had the start of it at the time of his death.
Gregg Goss Sorry to hear about the loss of your parents from this disease. Scary to think that you might be dealing with the same thing. Hope that isn't the case.

What an incredible find. I loved this show as a kid. Thanks!
You're welcome, John.

Wow.... An episode that survived the tape reuse division at ABC! Great find Fred. :)
Thanks, Chris. I have all of them.
FredFlix You're welcome! That is even more awesome. :)
cant wait
Best news I've heard in a while. Can hardly wait.
I LOVED KOPY KATTS.
I watched this when it was first on, I was a kid in the early 70s. The series disappeared and I have always wanted to see it again, THANKS, Fred.
Happy to do it, Steve. I remember recording The Kopykats on audio tape.

My god, incredible talent. Incredible entertainment. Thank you.
You're welcome, MJ.
This was a Great Summer Show in 1970s.
What a clever twist on the split screen gag.
George Kirby did all the voices of the dogs in the pound with Dean Jones doing the shaggy one in the Shaggy D.A.!
George Kirby was easily the most talented performer on this show. His range of impressions and musical skills were astonishing.
An amazing performer - shockingly underrated!
He was a genius especially since he can do female voices too
He has real talent, plus he doesn't often feel the need to exaggerate, which I appreciate. His Sydney Greenstreet was wonderful.
Marilyn MIchaels' Lena Horne was SPOT ON as well.
I loved him doing Ed Sullivan with Ed Sullivan standing next to him. Ed: "George...You're really starting to bug me."
That was such a great show.
Rich Little was my favorite, I also loved Frank Gorshin 👌
OMG! I forgot how incredibly talented Marilyn Michaels was! They all are, but she is just amazing!! Thanks for posting!!

I don't know why Vincent Price sounds like Truman Capote. lol
Just listened to the Will Jordan and Burt Ward episodes on the Gilbert Gottfried podcast. They brought me here..
The Man singing "Mule Train" while banging himself on the head and knees was "Bob the Tray" well known in Britain for this one act!
Gorshin and little are by far the best
The old days where people were not easily offended and were allowed to laugh. Miss those times
It wasn't mean spirited like today . People did get offended in the old days but were afraid to say anything .
Marilyn Michaels was wonderful so talented, so cute, and sexy! Miss all these people! Marilyn has a bit of Shirley Bassey about her..?
