Man oh man, when I was kid I never missed this. My Dad, God rest his soul, took me for my birthday to see Rich Little in a small club in St. Louis, The Cheshire Inn, we were so close to the stage you could reach out and touch the man. I was knocked out. One of my greatest memories with my Dad.
Fabulous! Great to see all these great impersonators together. I worked with Fred Travelena a little over 20 years ago on a World Cruise - what a talent!
Fred Travelena and Marilyn Michaels were not only great impressionists but superb singers as well. They don’t get nearly enough credit among the best variety performers that were out there. Excellent video.
Oh my gosh that was wonderful! Love love love Raymond Burr. Plus the whole show was great. And you know what it made me think of all the great actors that used to be able to be impersonated. Now everybody's so darn bland who would impersonate anyone? I miss the good old days
I had the pleasure of meeting Frank Gorshin at the San Diego Comic-Con many years ago, and talked with him about the KopyKats. He always regretted that the old episodes never made it to video, since he considered them some of his best work. Frank would be so happy that people are enjoying these episodes again on UA-cam.
I am a HUGE Frank Gorshin fan. I have not seen this episode since it first aired (I was ten) and The KopyKats has yet to make it to DVD to purchase. Thank you for putting this video up. I gave a Thumb Up and already am Subscribed.
EXCELLENT! Excellent entertainment! Thanks "FredFlix" for posting this rarely if ever seen gem here and post more "Kopykat" shows if you have more. Loved that Humphrey Bogart tribute as I love Bogey.
What a great show. I don't ever remember seeing this when I was a kid but man does it take me back to my childhood. This is the way TV was when I was a kid. It had a certain feel to it. It's like watching the Dean Martin celebrity roasts. I identified with the humor and the jokes but my kids just didn't enjoy it or even get it . I guess the days of variety shows and specials like KopyKats or Dean Martin hour or Texaco's Bob Hope show or Jack Benny shows are just another page in the history books. How I miss that part of my life.
I remember watching this show every week during the summer back in the early 70s when it was used to sub for a regularly scheduled show. It was one of the funniest shows ever to appear on TV . They were all classic actors who didn't have to rely on foul mouthed jokes or off-color banter. I am very thankful that I grew up from the 50s to the 70s during television's golden era. Oh, how I long for those days........
I must agree ...watched every show when I was kid too I wanted to be Frank Gorshin ! his skit as Kirk Douglas on Death Row, was genius from both a hilarious situation and Chef's culinary humor perspective He's ordering food for his last meal As he gives his requests ……it’s clear he’s ordering items that would take a long time to prepare .....when he got to the sautéed Humming bird tongues ......I was just rolling on the floor
Omg hilarious! You know how to pick em! I am so glad this popped up as it's been a crappy week and I needed some laughs! I am grateful to you as always! Many thanks Fred! 😘❤🤣
Great memories of these icons once again on the big screen!!... how time has changed most of these comedians are long gone now!! But their memories will continue living... it's sad to see how much the world has changed.,..
Such amazing talent!!! Don't know what was more fun - remembering the impressionists or the people they were impersonating!!! Please bring us more Kopykats Fred!!! You hit the mark with this one!!!!! Thanks for the rememberies!!!
please share MORE..... Thank you so much for this trip down memory lane. I was a toddler at this time but still have a great fondness for the classics. A lot of this is still better than todays tv
Wow, Fred, thank you. I'm surprised at how ... powerful that was, hearing all of those voices. I really enjoyed this, good entertainment. I checked, and 13 episodes of Kopykats were on ABC, Wed. 8:30-9:30, Jan.-April 1972, plus summer reruns. It was roughly opposite Carol Burnett at 8-9 on CBS.
Many thanks, Fred, for uploading this long forgotten 'gem' from our past. Frank Gorshin was a favorite of both of my parents, so-much-so, that the only time they ever joined me to view "Batman" during its first run, was when Gorshin appeared as "the Riddler". I should have known about this show, if for only that reason... I wonder how my parents missed viewing this show?
I love all of this. Rich Little did a great Paul Drake (William Hopper) in the skit with Burr. Hopper had already been dead two years when this first aired. Is Rich Little the only one in this episode still with us?
@@teresahooks3746, no, only RICH and MARYLYN are left.. TRAVALENA died in his late mid-60's in 2009..non-HODGKINS LYMPHOMA finally got him after its song and dance, enter and exit, for a few years. That stinks. He earlier had beaten prostate cancer. You know..Fred did the best JIM NABORS both talking and singing that you will ever hear.
Burr didn't do a lot of comedy, but he wasn't bad. One time, he played Perry Mason on the Jack Benny Program, defending Jack from something or other - I forget. At one point, Perry seems utterly flummoxed by the prosecutor's tactics, and Jack screams at him! "Perry! You were the greatest! You won every case!! What happened here?" Perry snaps back, "Maybe my writers are better than yours!" 🤣
Does anyone remember the episode with Frankie Laine playing a waiter in a sketch and out of nowhere he starts singing "Mule Train" while banging a serving tray on his head?
Poor George Harrison didn't even get credit for "Something" in the Beatles medley. Guess time proved his talents though. Maybe Fred Travelina couldn't do a Harrison impression, only John and Paul.
Man oh man, when I was kid I never missed this. My Dad, God rest his soul, took me for my birthday to see Rich Little in a small club in St. Louis, The Cheshire Inn, we were so close to the stage you could reach out and touch the man. I was knocked out.

50 Years Ago & Still Entertaining! Some Memories Never Fade, Thanks Fred.
All I can say is WOW! Power Packed Talent! A very unique show. Frank Gorshin very underrated and spot on !
Fabulous! Great to see all these great impersonators together. I worked with Fred Travelena a little over 20 years ago on a World Cruise - what a talent!
Omg I have never seen Raymond Burr cut up and smile! That was awesome!
Fred, you outdid yourself with this. My God, how good 👍
Fred Travelena and Marilyn Michaels were not only great impressionists but superb singers as well. They don’t get nearly enough credit among the best variety performers that were out there. Excellent video.
Travalena's McCartney wasn't very good, tho.
Oh my gosh that was wonderful! Love love love Raymond Burr. Plus the whole show was great. And you know what it made me think of all the great actors that used to be able to be impersonated. Now everybody's so darn bland who would impersonate anyone? I miss the good old days
Rich Little was the King!
I didn't see this program with Raymond Burr decades ago and surprised he hosted comedy.
I definitely remember Frank Gorshin.

We may never see it on DVD/disk -- too many music rights to secure along with the estates of all the stars. 😞
Frank Gorshin singing 'Boy Name Sue' may be the funniest thing I've seen in my entire life!
In my 68 years of living, I never saw this show. It's great to see all of these impersonators in one place.
EXCELLENT! Excellent entertainment! Thanks "FredFlix" for posting this rarely if ever seen gem here and post more "Kopykat" shows if you have more. Loved that Humphrey Bogart tribute as I love Bogey.
Lots of talent. Thanks Fred.
You're welcome, Mark.
PERFECT Paul Drake impression! I never heard of KopyKats before.
He sounded nothing like W. HOPPER...
He only dressed like him, using a white wig..

This is so wonderful! I love it! Thankyou so much for posting this wonderful show! It is such a great classic! 😊

Incredible talent and humor on display here, nothing comes close today.
I THINK KopyKats was a summer replacement show. It wasn't on TV that long. I loved it, though. Top-Draw talent

I have never seen anybody do an impression of Lee Marvin before and Frank Gorshin did it perfectly! He was on par with Rich Little in my opinion!
Better
I loved this show, real talent
Great Fred, as always. I needed this .Thank you.
Quite welcome, Michelle.
Incredibly funny with wonderful singing!
I vaguely remember seeing a few of Rich Little's specials, but I don't think I ever saw this program. Thank you for sharing it.
You're welcome, TJR.
I used to watch show all the time it was on. Loved it
I read Phil Hartman and Will Pharrell studied these guys before they became famous..
This was my favorite TV show when I was a kid..well this one with THE ODD COUPLE, and THIS WEEK IN PRO FOOTBALL.
That was the *Best* Bogart impersonation I've ever seen~!

The talent on this how is beyond belief!!!!!
This is great Fred! Rich always did the best Bogart & he did a pretty good Agnew too.
He was the best until all his voices started sounding the same.
Watched as a kid still love it todayyyyyy

I also thank you very much Fred!!... If it wasn't for people like you episodes like this would be long forgotten!!!!..many thanks my friend..
Wow! I didn`t think any one could imitate Glenn Ford. But Rich Little did an astonishing impersonation of his fellow Canadian.

Utter brilliance!!!!
I don’t remember this show.... They sure don’t make comedies like this anymore.. sad 😞
Fantastic talents. Not a bad show ever.
Awesome totally I ❤❤❤❤❤ it. Fred .Thank you so much

@@FredFlix I really can't wait to see what you do next your most welcome FRED I HOPE YOU AND FAMILY ARE DOING GREAT ❤❤⚘
Amazing performers !!!❤ Claude Rains !!! Who ever did that impersonation ? It was so spot on 😂
Pretty sure it was Rich Little: I'd seen him do Raines before. I think he did all the impersonations in that bit - Robinson, Cagney, etc.
The late Larry Storch did a much better Rains.
Wow, Fred, thank you. I'm surprised at how ... powerful that was, hearing all of those voices.

It had a short life, AM, and was a under the title of Kraft Music Hall, as I recall.

Great show someone should revive it with some of the great impressionists out there now.
Incredible talents
i loved watching this show
I love all of this. Rich Little did a great Paul Drake (William Hopper) in the skit with Burr. Hopper had already been dead two years when this first aired. Is Rich Little the only one in this episode still with us?

Carol Burnett!

Does anyone remember the episode with Frankie Laine playing a waiter in a sketch and out of nowhere he starts singing "Mule Train" while banging a serving tray on his head?
Safe to say this show was a pre-cursor to Saturday Night Live. Even it not,it might as well have been for all intents and purposes.
Pre Saturday Night Live type humor but with better talent .
Exactly!
Who is the movie studio producer guy with yes men supposed to be?
