I wonder if you could write on the mini and then use the old tracker with the dial as a controller midi in then you'd still have all the buttons and the knob it would probably be better for the performance mode too. Not sure if that would work but that would be sick.
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 I think I'm still going to try to do it just for fun, but I should probably get velocity sensitive pads of some kind? And there's got to be some kind of a midi knob I can hook up. I do like the Big pads on your novation and the programmable lights and functions seems cool too. I have chubby fingers and poor eyesight LOL =)
I think you nailed it, a major issue I ran into hearing you speak on this was no way to disable usb audio / usb midi was(is?) bad. I had to resort to the 3.5 midi
Definitely feel you on having more functionality over USB, and I have read a good few requests for the 8 dynamic keys to be able to be played for live record, so fingers crossed they hear that! The click might from the key note off if the release is set to 0? I get this on other samplers sometimes. Happens because the waveform is being cut off abruptly so it causes a single cycle square wave.
I was hoping this device would be a "better" option than the SP404 mk2 which I find has a clunky workflow.. but the SP has a lot of features the Mini should have.
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 that click sounds like the new played sample kills the one before so there is crossing between samples..... maybe using an envelope to kill a bit the attack....
Just a heads up, about 3 months after you dropped this they added live input across the top row! ua-cam.com/video/HKunLJahoBI/v-deo.htmlsi=tnYZPiqRD6x7MMVT
@@RevoltronTV yeah I saw. Unfortunately I don’t have it and probably won’t invest in that but I’m glad for those that benefit and by no means do I have anything against Polyend. I do wish them the best.
3:07 the thing getting sticky has more to do with what it is made of simply degrades over time. Effectively it is slowly rotting 🤷🏻♂️ there isn’t much you can actually do about it unfortunately. The knobs and sides of my old Arturia minibrute went that way after years and it spent a long time in a sealed box. So isn’t so much a hygiene thing, just a poor design choice really 🤦🏻♂️
I've seen multiple confirm that the Tracker Mini is NOT the same material that the Push 2/Mpc Live are made with that has been known for becoming sticky.

@@dustyaudio I mean how many work arounds does a man that spends $699 on a device need to do. I didn’t spend $699 but that’s their price.

I appreciate your take on it and you make some good points. Did you file a bug/ticket for that usb midi click sound?
@@sinewaymusic yeah and some things they are aware of. It’s just on them to make the moves.
I've heard this click on another video about the mini... this sucks..

just install renoise on the laptop...
@@sonomute I didn’t like renoise. In my opinion, that kind of defeats the purpose of even using a tracker. I’d rather have it in hardware personally.
