I’m honestly so happy somebody else also loved the selection series like I did! I don’t know a whole lot of people or even booktubers who do so it’s amazing to see somebody does!
I just realized that you’re actually a fairly new booktuber... what. Can I just say... you speak so eloquently! And you have such character on camera. ❤️❤️
@@FunkySockGoblin At first I didn't know that there was a change in the protagonist and I stopped reading the book because it was not very interesting but I kept reading and it's is not as good as the first three but the story was cute
I read a lot because of Booktube. When you spend so much time in a community, it's hard not to be influenced by it. I made a video recently where I read books that were mentioned at a specific point in videos - regardless of what was being said about them. Fun project!
I read we were liars at the beginning of this year and it only took me a day. I did not expect the plot twist and I thought it was a great book. Since then I’ve slowly started to widen my book collection. I also got since you’ve been gone today for Christmas along with some other books that I’m looking forward to reading!!
I am new to the booktube universe (just started watching not currently planning on videos) you are a wonderful speaker and definitely gave me a couple of great book ideas! I would like to state my opinion that I do disagree with a couple of things about The Selection. I read them as they were coming out so from like 12 to 15/16-ish and I found them interesting and developed, but it has been a while since I've read them and your opinions made me think maybe I should do a re-read of the series.
I LOVED Since You've Been Gone and I have read it a few times. I also liked the Selection series and also treated it as a trilogy. I didn't have a desire to read the rest. Fangirl also another favorite and I'm a little disappointed that Rainbow hasn't put a lot out. I loved all of her books. I really related to Cath. I am not into fanfiction, but I was always quiet, morally driven, and I would totally be the type to want to avoid the cafeteria because I don't know where it is or how it works. I always feel like everyone just knows what to do in new situations and I missed something lol. You have won me over!!!
I LOVE THE SELECTION!!! I just started reading it and I’m on The Heir!!! I honestly agree I don’t really like the Heir. But I love the rest, I ship Maxon and America, but Aspen can screw off😂😂😂
I’m adding all of these books to my reading list, thanks for sharing! 💫 Keep rising to be who you want to be! 💫 #keeprising #risingtobe #aswerise #riser
I've read all but 3 of the books you mentioned and 2 out of those 3 are very high on my TBR hahaha the only one I'm not really interested in is Since You've Been Gone mostly because I don't really like contemporaries hahaha Hope your February has been great! Have a lovely next couple of weeks, love. xx
the first three selection books were really food in my opinion. i really enjoyed the drama even though the topic was really basic and kind of boring. it’s literally just like the bachelor. i read the last two as well and i enjoyed them but definitely weren’t as good as the trilogy. they took me a lot longer to get through. still enjoyed nonetheless
@@MackenzieLane It made it that much better though. I can normally predict the outcome of a book, especially if it's a thriller or mystery, but this was the first book I've read that I never saw the ending coming
Hello, I need to do a video interview for my project at the English school at Fisk. I'd like to know if you could give me an interview telling me what it's like to be a booktuber these days.
I love your description of the selection. The writing is not the greatest, it's mediocre but you love it... I felt the same way!!! I loved the series (not including book 4&5 because I tried to read those but I can't do it), but felt the same way as you did about it.
These are all super popular books and yet I’ve only read two of those (fangirl and since you’ve been gone) but I’ve been meaning to check out vicious for the longest time! Xx
Hey so, I’m not a bookworm but I do need help. Are you familiar with the book The mysterious Benedict society 4? I don’t know the 4th book and my niece wanted it as her birthday gift.
I’d love to read vicious but the book isn’t available in my language and I don’t really like reading books in other languages because I’d have to focus more on the individual words and won’t be able to enjoy the book as much.
I agree with the choppy writing for We Were Liars. I can see how it could be a plus for some people, but sadly it wasn't for me :( Oh well, we all love different books :) Oh man, I need to read some V.E. Schwab so bad!! Also, FANGIRL, yes!! I wanted to let you know that I tagged you in the Reading Habits book tag! I thought you would really like that tag :)
I'm so glad you're a Christian! ❤. I've been trying to find good Christian booktubers to connect with and subscribe to! Woohoo! (I only know this because I read your "bio" intro haha).
Hey Mackenzie! I want to give a CHALLENGE for you and for the whole BOOKTUBERS community: Make a video talking about the best books you remembered reading when you were a kid, list down a couple, maybe 4 or 5, but the more the merrier! Let's call it the #MYCHILDHOODREADS challenge! I did mine already and I feel that this video that I made about is one of my most special videos ever and one I value most dearly. This will give us the opportunity as book tubers, to remember the most memorable moments we got when were just a kid - holding a book in our hands - basically remembering how our reading journey started. SO, if you are IN, SHARE THIS CHALLENGE, and do NOT forget to use the # above, I am too excited and can't wait to see yours! Best of luck and happy reading - Kind Regards, Bryan.
I loved the selection series. They are great audio books. I really liked Since you've been gone too. Unfortunately I didn't like fangirl. It was the first book that I skipped pages and I just did not like that at all and it was before I read harry potter. Now that I read harry potter wonder if I would like fangirl more.
I will say, the fanfiction parts of Fangirl did not interest me... at all. I still read them, because I thought maybe the bits we were shown would have some sort of commentary on the actual characters' lives, but I didn't glean anything special or unique from those parts. This is why I probably will never pick up 'Carry On'
Hello i'm french and i want to improve my english and i've read to all the boys i've loved before and i understood everything. Is since you've been gone, easy like tatbilb or ??? And if you have other books to recommand me you're welcome to
I'd say so, yeah! anything contemporary is usually written in a more "simplistic" style (if that makes any sense) so I'd think they'd be easier to read in a second language!
If you’re into high fantasy consider reading my new book: www.wattpad.com/774198099-sorcerer%27s-spring-a-tale-from-exia-a-sentinel-in Here is an excerpt: “It’s easier to kill yourself than one would think; you simply need to start slowly. First, you select the piece that chafes the most; then you find what feeds it. And once a you is dead, one can become most anything. My death began with dresses-which is fair in that I was the death of many myself. But I forget how our stories go, from birth to death not notion to notion (I forget such things so often, I fear I gained less than I bargained to in my losing). Anyway. I am the 6th of twelve sisters. (A nymphling may only have sisters). I, as each of us, was born in spring; born into a gilded cage; a fixture of my mother’s Edenic prison. And it wasn’t a small world when I was small. No. Every tree was infinite before I crest its top; every flower new when a season stretched beyond a child’s reason; every laugh a song before I too grew rueful.“
Mackenzie Lane I do! I drive through there occasionally. Im from bixby but this past year ive been living near sallisaw.. plan to move out to bristow hopefully next year :-D lol
4:38 nope, no chance of seeing the spine. Since that's what I'll be seeing on my shelves, I love to know what the spines look like -- they're as important as the covers to me. I'm always having to type them into Google images, in hopes I can see what I'm buying over the internet.
