Absolutely incredible! Unexpected yet naturally & organically manifested. Richie showcasing a nod to his 'Vertú' days under Stanley Clarke's tutorship, but in his own inimitable way.
There needs to be a LOVE button along with up or down. This is completely beautiful! I just listened to the whole album. Richie has turned himself inside out, so we can see his head, heart and soul at this moment in time. And he has somehow pushed himself lyrically, instrumentally, vocally and songwriting-wise. No same old same old here! Yes it is signature Richie.....but fresh! Thank you Richie for being willing to share your gift with us!
Totally amazing composition Mr. Richie Kotzen, you continue to inspire! I wish you all the very best in this fusion direction once again as it opens up a new channel that you are clearly meant to forge.
Talk about changing it up, there is so much going on but comes together so well. Also the Video is a beautiful visualization of the tune. Congratulations on everyone’s work on the video
Lyrically it is nihilistic but sonorically it is bright thus positive and optimistic. The harmony contrasts to the dark lyric which adds an ambiguity causing the listener to question the overall meaning of the piece and relisten to the track. The persona continues to question their existence while the track ends with a bright solo which would seem like it needs an additional double period phrase to draw a conclusion yet it abruptly ends to a resolved tonic, this resolving the melody but leaving the overall questions of the track open.
We will all go the way of all things one day = We will all die I am already saved = I am already dead Who am I anyway = Nothing matters What do I know, who am I? = We are observers of the simulation (Matrix)
This album gives me a similar vibe to Blackstar by David Bowie, which I read is one of RK’s favorite records. It might be the mix of rock and jazz, but more than that, it shows Richie really pushing his limits. This song, “Nihilist”, is totally unique, “Nomad” uses a Lydian riff instead of the usual pentatonic ideas, and “Insomnia” is so catchy. Plus, the bass lines are amazing! I still need to hear the whole album, but so far, I’m really into it.
Damn. This reminds me so much of mid 70's Zappa, and It's freaking awesome. 👐
Holy crap. What a track. Psychedelic jazz fusion/prog. Love it!

フュージョン色の額縁の中に描き殴られたアプローチと、その中に散りばめられた哲学的な言葉とソロプレイのフレーズの彩りが秀逸で心に刺さってきます。
リッチー、ありがとう🎉

Richie's best song since Dogs! So good! That chorus melody! He solos over the same melody at the end! Great tune!

More… A little more... Richie should leave more of his mark on this era. History will remember him. I'm still thirsty waiting for his work.
