@@truecollectors apple OS is so limited. Surface pro is full windows meaning literally anything you would do on a laptop it can do. This is especially amazing for students.
@@truecollectors hardly anyone actually edits and does graphics. Graphic artist make up .17% of the job market. Kill that argument already. And the coding makes no sense. It's better on the actual OS.
I watched this video on a Surface pro 3 bought back in 2014 as a pre order, it now has a slightly newer type cover from the SP4(forward compatibility - listen up Apple... ;-). But it has been EVERYWHERE with me up until Sept 2017when I bought a second Surface pro (2017) for uni. The SP3 has been 100% reliable in use as my main computer for 5 years, the keyboard is excellent and all the keys work, none have fallen off, the backlight still works, it's had stuff spilled on it etc. Far and away the best device type I ever owned. I do now own an iPad (gen 7 non pro) for the "pure tablet" stuff that the Surface doesn't do so well but the SP3 has handled everything I've thrown at it. It now deserves it's semi-retirement :)
Yeah with tablet functionality, I'm using one right now and without an attached keyboard. I love that this will operate full programs for what I want it for, not just apps. Even though it can use apps too. This review isn't entirely full, if you buy the entry level Surface Pro 7 it may not handle those games too well, but the entry level pro has that most basic graphics card out of them the least amount of storage too and until you get up to the 128gb SSD then the RAM jumps from 8gb of ram to 16gb of ram and some other improved hardware also. That's why I bought the 128gb system and I'll just export large video files onto an external SSD to keep the pro as clear as possible running as efficiently as possible.
Indeed, I still have my Microsoft Surface 3 (specs include 4GB Ram, Intel Atom) since 2015 (that's 5 years and counting) and it still works great! Since its free update to Windows 10, it feels as if its performance got slightly faster. I can definitely vouch for its durability and performance.
two small notes regarding Tab S6: 1. You can also magnetically attach the S-Pen to the side where the power button and volume rocker is. Not to the middle of the side but closer to the corner. It won't charge at this point however, but this attachment is also very useful. I store the S-Pen in it's charging position (obviously) but when i'm in the meetings when I need to write something down occasionally, instead of holding it all the time I simply attach it to the side and grab it when necessary. Way more convenient than reaching for it at the back of the tablet. 2. You can connect a gamepad both from XBox and PS. However I admit that there are not too many games where it actually makes sense to use it As a side note on the S-Pen, yeah, it has a very cheap feel and please don't smell it :) it smells like cheapest crappy plastic. But as for the general feel and balance it's ok. If you ask me, the Apple pencil has a worse weight balance, I didn't feel comfortable at all when writing with it. Too heavy on the upper end. But yes, the Surface pen is the best in terms of feel and functionality combined. I own a Tab S6 now and it's been my "daily driver" in terms of personal use. I have a working laptop and for personal use I used to have a Macbook Pro 13", but now Tab S6 has completely replaced it for me. If only they had the 12" version... But please note that my daily usage for it is mainly web surfing, emails, using some productivity apps from the office package (both MS and Google), ebook reading, light photo editing in Google Photo, light video editing in PowerDirector and other personal-life related stuff. No heavy gaming, no professional video/photo editing, no coding. If your scenarios are in the same range the Tab S6 could replace a laptop for you as well... If only they had the 12" version...

Shane, first time commenter here, I appreciate your videos, unfortunate that subbed ratio is so low. If I had $1500 fall from the sky, I would go for the Surface, but if I had $2000, I would go for iPad then save the remainder for a better laptop. Weird logic but that's my conclusion. I seem to undervalue Surface Pros because in the end they are a Windows machine, and there seems to be something missing at each version. USB type c is good and if it was on Pro 6, I would've bought it. But in 2019 going to 2020, its something it should've been there a year ago. I can't get around without thinking about the next Pro 8. Whereas for iPad Pro or Tab S6, they are foremost tablets already with a USB type c port, and less devalued by their successors because you know you are making a compromise when buying a tablet. But this is poor-speak. Good comparison video.

Interesting combination. I am an Android User, I have a Tab 5e, Yoga Tab 3 Plus, Tab S2 8 and a Surface Go and Surface Pro. I love android but I never tried ios. I am thinking to try an IPad Mini 5. Which is your experience with both OS? Don't you feel that ios is too restricted?
@@santiagodelbono1 It is... I shouldn't have buyed the IPad pro
@@timsteuerwald2207 thanks, yeah, seems that it is. Funny that don't even could decide which apps do you want to have on your desktop.
@@santiagodelbono1 well, i don't want to sound like a fanboy but... I love android (especially since Samsung Dex), too. I think as long as you need certain creative apps that just work IOS is a great coice, BUT if you are like me (own cloud, testing servers, streaming, tweaking ecc.) let's say: "somewhere between creative and more allrounder" then you won't become happy with IOS as of its limitations. Indeed, I've passed the Ipad to my wife and just use the S6 these days... Would I buy an Ipad again? No. Would I buy a Surface again? Yes. Why? I want to be freeee! ;)
@@Atarix777 jajaja, great words. Probably I will try the ipad mini just to love even more my Android ecosytem :)
this was SUCH a good review!!! genuinely, thank you so so much!! i'm thinking of forgoing a laptop entirely and switching to the surface pro 7 as i mainly just need it for notetaking and the most intensive thing i imagine i'll use is photoshop. this was genuinely an incredibly helpful video, thank you so so much.

I love mine but it gets too overheating. Only 2 days and I'm returning mine. SP7

Love my Surface Pro 7. I love the larger touch screen and stylus. I use it to present drawing packages to clients and the screen size is perfect. The smaller tablet screens are too small. I can review drawings and markup at the same time easily.
The tab 6 and iPad are accessories to a computer. Go for the surface pro 7 if you are replacing an older computer.
@@truecollectors I still have the Surface Pro 3 and it never freezes on me. It sounds like you may have viruses from visiting nasty web sites.
@@truecollectors apple OS is so limited. Surface pro is full windows meaning literally anything you would do on a laptop it can do. This is especially amazing for students.
@@truecollectors maybe if you got the i3 variant. You can spec these things to an i7 with 16 gigs of ram dont tell me you cant code and video edit lol

I don't know if I've ever seen a more thorough and less biased review. Well done.
O cz
The surface pro 7 is literally a laptop.
Ikr
Yeah with tablet functionality, I'm using one right now and without an attached keyboard. I love that this will operate full programs for what I want it for, not just apps. Even though it can use apps too. This review isn't entirely full, if you buy the entry level Surface Pro 7 it may not handle those games too well, but the entry level pro has that most basic graphics card out of them the least amount of storage too and until you get up to the 128gb SSD then the RAM jumps from 8gb of ram to 16gb of ram and some other improved hardware also. That's why I bought the 128gb system and I'll just export large video files onto an external SSD to keep the pro as clear as possible running as efficiently as possible.
exactly!
It is a laptop
With touchscreen
Indeed, I still have my Microsoft Surface 3 (specs include 4GB Ram, Intel Atom) since 2015 (that's 5 years and counting) and it still works great! Since its free update to Windows 10, it feels as if its performance got slightly faster. I can definitely vouch for its durability and performance.
two small notes regarding Tab S6:
However I admit that there are not too many games where it actually makes sense to use it
As a side note on the S-Pen, yeah, it has a very cheap feel and please don't smell it :) it smells like cheapest crappy plastic.
Ok
Um bro my old 4.1 jellybean tablet can connect a controller. Its nothing new for android but isheeps think its "innovation"

Thank you so much for the in-depth comparison, I have decided to purchase the tab s6 after watching your video!
Congrats on the purchase!
When he revealed the statistics that only his viewers compiled of only 1.4% subscribers and the rest not subscribed, i was like damn. Im guilty to be one of those watching vids and not subscribing afterwards.
I see it now. So i’ll subscribe to your channel bc this has been a great review
I love the fact that you gave a few minutes to the still great pro 4 even though it was out of script! Lovin’ these vids. Still have a pro 4 along with my pro x!
Soooo...

Thanks for this I'm definitely going for the Samsung tab as I already have a Samsung galaxy and Samsung watch but this really helped. I like how neutral this video was, there was no bias :)
Finally... after weeks of searching, only this video answered ALL my questions.

Finally, I got a video where all three tablets were compared.and I was looking for the same. The video is very informative and useful without going into detail unnecessary technalities. Thanks
Those samsung speakers are so good!!!!
Quality is impossible to tell from a youtube video, but they are certainly louder. Also the Surface is surprisingly low volume. I have had several Surface devices and have never experienced such low volume.
@@ST-ry7lr you can look on my there videos to see that the Samsung has WAY better speakers than the other drvices

This was an excellent comparison video. One of the best I’ve ever seen. Earned a sub today. Thanks!
Same here, subbed immediately after watching the video. At some point I was expecting him to talk about the specs (CPU, RAM, Storage, etc), but he didn't. It felt kinda refreshing, even though I've forgotten some of the specs. But it made me realise that he's just reviewing from a purely usage point of view... I liked that.
I’d pick the Surface Pro 7 as the first choice and the Galaxy Tab S6 as a second choice.
Why so? I'm trying to decide between the 2.
Just ordered the S6. Looking forward to using it. I have a Samsung S10e phone that has DEX. I bought a multi interface that plugs into the type C works great into my 61" Samsung DLP via HDMI and also connets to the wired ethernet. Great combo. I suspect the S6 will work just as well.
Saw your review and bought surface pro 7. Thanx
I love how the s6 can become like a windows computer
You know that the IPad Pro can actually be 12.9 inch.
But I’m guessing that it’s the “base model” because it’s cheaper
I’m aware that it’s not the base model though
Exactly
I have the 12.9 inch version and it is great
@@dianalazar6541 been looking at getting a ipad pro to go back to school online, and because I'm a OTR driver I need an LTE device, you think 11 or 12.9 would be better? Been thinking 12.9, but haven't sold myself on it yet.
Logan Mangels I‘m actually typing this with my iPad Pro 12.9‘‘ so I guess I can give you a review. This device is so amazing I love IT. Especially when ist comes to writing. It gives you more space for your hand and gets closer to actually writing on paper. It isn‘t very handy tho, you cannot use it with one hand. But I‘d totally recommend if the higher price doesn‘t bother you. If it does, the 11‘‘ is also great:)
Lol at the 3:18 minute Mark when you scratched the textured case, that noise made me cringe pretty bad. It's a similar sound made by those 3d lenticulars that sometimes come with movies. Great video though you made some good points for each of them. Keep it up!
Have been using the ipad pro for over a year now and its still fast and snappy like a new one. I think regular updates and durability makes it a worthy buy which can't be expected with the other 2.
Nice honest review, cheers.
I'm moving out of iPads. I was originally already leaning toward getting an Android tablet but this video gave me very good insight in considering a Windows one.
I've been deciding what type of device I should get for school. This video helped a lot. I'm definitely going to get the surface pro but I've been looking at the X. This video just made me want to get the 7 though.
Yes but keep in mind. Some apps don't be avaliable on Windows. I have a surface pro and that's one thing that keeping me from loving it completely

I've been rocking a Tab S4 for the past year. I was intrigued by the S6 but the smaller battery and lack of headphone jack ruined it for me.
