Be careful with the employee clocking out and then clocking back in when work is available. In some states, that could be considered "standby time" which in some states is illegal. I agree with David (I know crazy, right😅) I would allow the employee to stay on the clock and available to take a customer call if needed. If the dishes are clean, the laundry is done AND the customers are taken care of, it's a win-win for everyone.
