Older than greek? Dont be silly. As for your flag: The double-headed eagle is an iconographic symbol originating in the Bronze Age. A heraldic charge, it is used with the concept of an empire. Most modern uses of the emblem are directly or indirectly associated with its use by the late Byzantine Empire (East Roman Empire), originally a dynastic emblem of the Palaiologoi.

From wikipedia: The double-headed eagle is an iconographic symbol originating in the Bronze Age. A heraldic charge, it is used with the concept of an empire. Most modern uses of the emblem are directly or indirectly associated with its use by the late Byzantine Empire, originally a dynastic emblem of the Palaiologoi. It was adopted during the Late Medieval to Early Modern period in the Holy Roman Empire, Albania and in Orthodox principalities (Serbia and Russia), representing an augmentation of the (single-headed) eagle or Aquila associated with the Roman Empire. In a few places, among them the Holy Roman Empire and Russia, the motif was further augmented to create the less prominent triple-headed eagle.
The motif has predecessors in Bronze Age art, found in Mycenaean Greece, and in the Ancient Near East, especially in Mesopotamian and Hittite iconography. It re-appeared prominently during the High Middle Ages, being adopted by the Palaiologos dynasty of the Byzantine Empire. 11th or 12th century representations have also been found originating from Islamic Spain, France and the Serbian principality of Raška. From the 13th century onward, it became even more widespread, and was used by the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum and the Mamluk Sultanate within the Islamic world,[1] and within the Christian world by the Holy Roman Empire, Serbia, Albania and Russia.

The Albanian flag 🇦🇱 is one of the oldest and most beautiful flags in the world. The red stands for bravery, strength, valour and bloodshed, while the Eagle - traditionally the symbol of Albanians - represents the sovereign state of Albania.
The eagle was used for heraldic purposes in the Middle Ages by a number of noble families in Albania and became the symbol of the Albanians.
This was the flag of the League of Lezhë, which was the first unified Albanian state in the Middle Ages and the oldest representative political body in the country with extant records.
The symbolism of the double-headed eagle among Albanians encapsulates their ethnicity and flag, viewing it as a symbol that represents ethnic-Albanian people across the globe. Albanians call themselves as "Shqiptar" (son of eagle) and their country "Shqipëri" (land of eagles). 🦅
The earliest known depiction of the eagle dates back to a stone carving from 1190- when it was established the first Albanian state : Principalty of Arbanon, by 🇦🇱 leader Progon.
The eagle for us represents honesty, truth, majesty wich describes the character of Albanians.
The eagle is an ancient symbol of Illyrians (our ancestors) as it was widely used by them since ancient times (Costantini - Illyrian in year 306 AD) long ago before it was adopted by the Byzantine. We are proud of our eagle 🦅👐🏼🫶🏼

Albanians established that flag after independency from Otoman Empire 1912. And it very much reminding of flag of Montenegro. Where you have golden eagle with the crown. Because Montenegro has been kingdom long long time before.

Bullshit Slavic propaganda. Slavic people came to our lands in the seventh century. Albanian flag comes from the Byzantine flag. So bro don’t believe the above comment

wrong info zoran......that flag became the national flag of the Albanians in 1443 when the main Albanian lords formed an anti-Ottoman confederation in the city of Lezhe....because if we use your logic then it means that Montenegro and Serbia were created in 2006....and then the official name of Montenegro until the 18th century was (Albania Veneta) loool....

also another info the present day Albania, has never been inhabited by Ottoman Turks instead Muslim Albanians (including bektashi) during the Ottoman Empire created their own independent pashaliks before the birth of the modern Balkan states and all they fought against the Ottomans whenever it interested them..
