Αh you have been chosen, your video is the one that shall play in roughly 15-20 minute segments for the next week or so as I'm trying to doze off to sleep.
Starting an hour and a half long FUNGER video essay with VIVALDI is exactly what I needed. Thank you kind sir I shall be enjoying every minute of this.
I love how every Funger video essay has its own take on the phenomenal games but one thing stays the same, the theme that you're a small, insignificant, and mostly powerless being that should be considered lucky that you survived the experience of the dungeons
This is going into a trifecta with the worm girl video and the super eye patch wolf video. This one is like an anylysis of the game itself, worm girls is a possible story that could've happened, and eyepatch wolf is just how it feels playing the game. It's all great
Congratulations. The algorithm has chosen you to be the Video Essay I will try to watch as I fall asleep. (I will keep rewatching until i get through the whole thing)

Great video. I had some similar thoughts the other day when thinking about why this game works so well, cosmic horror as a game mechanic. I'm looking forward to playing the 2nd one but I feel there's still so much to explore in the 1st.
You're a creator I always leave an immediate like for because your content is always above expectation. Very excited that this one is for Fear and Hunger
Highly enjoyable and intellectually stimulating video. Thank you. I’d recommend delving into more cult like games in your videos as these are the audiences that specifically search for any vids covering them. Many come to mind, like just recently the ‘no, I’m not human’ game.
I knew someone would point it out 😭😭😭 I noticed near the end of editing I was saying it wrong but I'd come so far I just wanted to finish lmfao. Glad you enjoyed despite that tho :D
I've always wondered what knowledge could possibly be enough to drive someone insane, or if like, perhaps the borders of insanity are simply different for different people. Especially as someone who suffers from mental illness and has been through mental break downs. Like, Perhaps, was the reveal that the true nature of the gods is intrinsically linked into everything, so there's never truly been a 'you'? Or maybe that the old gods simply exist in a dimension we cannot perceive, so forcing a human's mind to open beyond what it can comprehend, allowing it to see past the boundaries of one's reality, utterly overwhelmed every sense to the point of going into shock? I could probably die from overstimulation to that degree, or at very least drop into a coma until I could begin to process or lock it away, but something more existential as all of us being simply puppets played on different hands probably couldn't have that effect. That'd just be like, an, 'oh, cool'. Sorta thing. It'd be funny if the reveal to the player's character was that they are in fact in a game, and they've been repeating and repeating this whole adventure, millions of times, as people play the game. It makes no difference what they do. They never really had a choice anyway. They are, truly, nothing. Just a faint charge of electricity in a circuit.
Also! I didn't really think you suffered too bad with repeating things or missing details, I really enjoyed this entire essay and it definitely gave the whole vibe of a project you actually cared about reporting on. Very fun, very cool, and the writing was entertaining. Plus, you have an excellent voice. Definitely subscribing so I can catch future content you put out :) Honestly, my only recommendation would be to lower the volume of section-switching or sound effect sounds to around the same level as your voice, they did make me jump once or twice.

Thanks for the video! Enjoyed it a lot. I am a big fan of anything related to HPLs world and creations, and was NOT aware of this game. So thanks! I am in Europe and in my country, the game is not available (findable) on Steam. 32:57 Hold up. Since when were there encounters and facets of the game that are only unlocked with a low Mind score? This on top of the seemingly circular video dialogue really makes it sound like the script was written by a generative language learning model (AI). It might just be me, but there is thematic irony in the unfortunate state we live in that the integrity and authenticity of content can be so thoroughly questioned, not unlike a protagonist in a Clark Ashton Smith or Arthur Machen story.
Rereading my comments, this sounds pretty dickish. This video does provide a great generalist yet thoroug look at Fear & Hunger. I haven't seen something so concise in its assessment of F&H. I've been working on a trans-media exploration of trauma and body horror and already wrote up a a couple sections on Funger and fr some of the big points are the same (co-contructing lore, lack of autonomy, and the lingering affect embodied from playing the game) even if I don't directly touch on cosmic horror at all.
