Hey everyone!
One of the best experiences of my life has been raising my dove Kushi. She fell off of her nest and we rescued her because she couldn't fly. She has been staying with us for 3.5 months now and it has been a wonderful experience. I made this video to share that with you.
That being said, birds are meant to fly in the wild. Especially wild birds like doves... I am keeping Kushi until she feel confident enough to fly away and never in a cage!

Thank you for saving him, great work indeed! He's starting to show some territorial and dominance behaviour so he might try to leave when it's mating season. He might come back with a family though!

I just tried to rescue a nestling dove and it seemed fine the first 2 days then we went to bed and I got up to feed it and it was dying and did die. Nestling dove are DELICATE. Irk if it was sick or didn't get enough food. It was attacking the little bottle thing I made but it didn't survive in the end. So idk what happened but first year doves have a mortality rate of up to 75% because they are extra vulnerable to sickness. I think it got kicked out of its nest because something was wrong. Poor little dove. He was my little buddy for a couple days

I just found 1 today ,2 early 2 leave ,seen the mother feeding it but ,it was just cat food any hints or feeding tips would be appreciated 😊

I came home found a good size one but couldn't fly. Put in carrier water. Seeds suet. I have cats so didn't want them to get her. Flew a little today when outside cause I wanted to see if she was hurt. Hope I do ok
